Feeling SOOO good about this message today.
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any.” -Alice Walker, author of The Color Purple.
He didn't say this to urge everyone to get involved. He said it so he could have an out when nothing changes under his leadership. "See, I told you things wouldn't change right away, despite my earlier promises that they would."
I'm glad my fellow Americans are starting to understand that fascism here is fascism everywhere and they can't just move to Canada.
It wasn't an interview so much as over an hour of mutual admiration.
That would make my eyes sore, from rolling then so hard so often.
The view from Scotland : Your father is a wise man.
I'm so sorry you're in this situation. My misery didn't want company.
Amen from Florida.
Amen from Tennessee
Amen from Kettle Falls, WA
I really hope we don't vote in a mini-trumpy
I hope so, too. I hope you will learn from the US failure (electing Trump the horrible).
We need to value and exercise our vote, responsibly. 🙂
Seems the world has no shortage of rage filled narcissists and oligarchs trying to steer the future of all Earth's inhabitants!
I don’t have much. But everything I have belongs to God 🙏✝️
There is this bottom up pressure that's happening in the City of Pickering, Ontario. The problem is that it takes the form of one councilor, namely Lisa Robinson, using what can only be described as stochastic terrorism to cause her supporters to make threats against other councilors and the mayor. It's so serious that they have moved council meetings online rather than risk an incident in council chambers.

Sr Joan Chittister, OSB, Benedictine monastic and spiritual voice of our day puts it this way: when the people lead, the leaders follow.
I love your insights and biblical wisdom. Feeling less alone after listening to you. Thank you, Rev. Trevors! We're riding a regressive wave of extreme right-wing ideology. In my experience, this never works for the majority of citizens. I hesitate to call these ideals conservative because they are not conserving anything but tearing it down. I agree that people of integrity need to stay engaged, refuse to stoke hatred and rage and follow the Wisdom of Jesus. Let's change the world! ♥♥♥
It reminds me of our history classes and how we ended up with hitler. But then, people were so much worse off than we are now. We have to cut back on trips to Macdonalds, and we think we are in poverty... oh, that is an exaggeration, I know. But I see the junk we are buying just for holidays of any kinds, and i know most of us are not in actual starvation type poverty. Some, yes. But in N. America and much of Europe, probably not. Yet, we think we are and get scared, just like back then. Instead of being patient and logical, yup, we want an easy out "savior," and that leads us into big trouble as we sell our soul for what? Turns out to just give more money to crooks. It's too late for the USA, but i hope not totally. I pray others in other countries will see this folly and turn around. Only God in His mercy can help us now. I am praying. I never stop.
Even before pressure, we need to understand whether what "we" want is even possible.
People complain about prices being too high; people complain about wages being too low; people complain about jobs being outsourced. Nobody points out that all these things are connected. Amazon can deliver your trinkets the next day for "23% off" _because_ they've depressed wages, cut domestic jobs, and source their goods from overseas workers. It doesn't matter how much pressure we put on whatever level of government; we don't get lower prices _and_ more and better-paying jobs _and_ all of our consumerist creature comforts. It just doesn't work.
Well said! We speak from both sides of our mouths, don't we?
Amazon made Over 100 billion in profits this year
Don’t buy their bs
So, what do you do? Pay 23% more in the hopes that the more expensive company is taking better care of its employees instead of putting it in their pockets?
@@PhoneRanger-ij4wcsmall scale? To some extent yes. Live smaller, more gently, more mindfully. Try to consider the effects of what you do consume, and accept that it’s not always possible to get it perfect.
On a larger scale is where the pressure comes in: there’s enough for everyone to get what they need if we push to change to a system that’s based on caring for each other rather than one that lionizes rapacious want.
Want less stuff. Want more mutual support and care. Talk to those around you about why it matters, and work together to build a world that works for the health and happiness of all.
Sounds oddly familiar…
@drmathochist06 There is a tricky balance. If I produce more grain and want to sell it, I should be able to benefit from mass production and, in turn, I would need to be competitive in some way to sell it, or it will spoil. I want people to buy my stuff, so it either needs to be cheaper or better. That should be good for the consumer, right? Provided the sector is not monopolized...
The problem Ed is what he means, shift responsibility so he can blame those people at the bottom instead of actually taking any responsibility so that he can continue those negative attacks and continue to use anger as a motivator. As far as his plan goes I would guess that he's going to go to the same plan that Elon keeps talking about, crashing the economy building it back up the same thing as Meilei has done in Argentina. Well let's look at how that worked out.

One added bonus, the rich will buy the assets of the country. Like the city of Chicago did with their parking meters.
So lovely to hear something about Canada ❤
Trickle down doesn’t work with economics for the poor. It does work with sewage.
Thanks for reminding us of our responsibility to affect needed change with our community of friends and family and not rely on government structure to somehow meet every need. Gathering together to tackle an issue is one way to build community. Beau and Belle will be proud of this message. I will pass onto my circle of friends, regardless of their political colours. Not a patreon but will donate to your parish.
I wonder how much overlap there is between those two channels?
@ Beau and Belle are down in Florida and Rev Trevors is up in Nova Scotia Canada (East Coast) .. sometimes have a community message (help out your neighbours, prepare to help in a crisis if you can, etc). Don’t know exactly if they’ve chatted.
This message touched my spirit...
Amen!
You gave a good point with this.
Amen,Amen, Amen 🙏!
Amen Thanks Rev Ed...The MAGA movement will try to spread, Jordan does hang with the MAGA crowd..The thing is Folks stick to Human values and equality and the rights of all.. God Bless 🕊️
Like rights to control what medicines and injections they do or don't take? How about the human values of a baby inside a womb?
Teh reason the MAGA movement or something similar is spreading because people have finally had enough of the WEF none human AI idiocy being forced on all Western nations. That English PM that just has been elected will not last long. He is too much of a WEF puppet.
2025, 2026 will upset the entire applecart of the past. Trump is just a tool in this energy. It is someone else who turned it into a brand.
Trump and right wingers were able to manufacture rage during the first Trump term. Pierre is just smart enough to continue wrangling the abundance of latent rage if he becomes Prime Minister.
I do agree with you that the people are the ones who must rise up and change things. For far too long, most have gotten lazy and complacent. Yes, they are working hard and focused on their families, etc - but they’ve completely checked out from civic duty! The “leaders” have been allowed to run absolutely amok - unchecked and unchallenged…
Yes!
Wise words !
Amen ❤
How can Canadians look at what the US has gone through and voted back in and think Hey I want that insanity in my country? We should be a cautionary tale for the sane rest of the world.
Amen!
Candadians you all need to fight!!! Against this guy. You may lose, but how horrible to lose without even fighting!!!!
Sounds like America. God help us all. So many need to seek Yoshua.
That love of earthly treasures must be one of the most powerful whisper in the ears of Christ’s followers. Seriously is a puzzle to me how so many could fall for it.
How does he feel about being the governor of Canada? How does he feel about Trump wanting to take over Canada? Trump wants to take over everything!
No serious person believes this. Trump doesn't want to take over Canada. It's just provocative bullsh!†.
I call him PeePee, easier to pronounce than Poilievre. I have not liked him ever since he entered the leadership race. He has no solutions, only empty headed words. Trudeau is long past his best before date, but PeePee really isn't up to the job.
Bless your comments. I feel J Peterson is full of anger and fear; therapy may help him. An engaged electorate is important, not turning a blind eye to understanding policies and their effect on others. The Magi, show the importance of God's grace, the community of their travel together studying the stars, and the Holy Spirit guiding their steps in protection of the newborn.
PP is slogan man, without substance. 🙂

Ed, as we prepare for the "End Times," may God have mercy on the innocents.

As one of the resident visiting atheists once again I land on the same square as Rev Ed. Here in the UK there is an entire branch of politics built around food banks. The simple question is how, in a 21st century first world country, can there be people so short of money that they struggle to afford food. The question is simple but the answer is complex. Failure of housing policy. Issues over wealth distribution. Arguments with other countries who supply us with energy. Take your pick. But one thought nags at me. Some comment that the government should sort this out. Years ago to focus on the point I suggested to a political opposite that every time they said "the government should..." they should end the sentence "with my money". Because that is actually the only mechanism the government has. It has not been a popular response over the years but I still use it because I want to remind people where the conjoined twins of power and responsibility actually lie and that leads to the nagging thought. It seems to me that some people hate the idea of food banks because it puts the problem right in front of them. It forces them to confront their own role in the process. I am mortified that the need for food banks exists but it reflects current reality. And what horrifies me is the idea that finding a solution is not our responsibility. We want the government to solve the problem so we don't have to think about it. "They", whoever "they" are should do something about it.
There is no "they". There is only us.
When I see the name "Jordan Peterson"-- I'm gone!!
I'm sorry you had to watch Jordan Paterson
Good one!
Conservatism is a classic response to a collapsing society. A desire to return to a time thought to be better than today.
So many people have the solutions for what we must do except me. The answers, not solutions, will come in the future.
"Where the danger is precisely there is for saving power." -Friedrich Hölderlin
Well, I guess I can't escape to Canada now. Especially if it becomes the 51st state. Has your new prime minister ever been to Mar-a-lago?
I often stop and realise that political leaders are just ordinary people for the most part. I would not be able to do the job, even talented people can barely handle the job. Governing a nation is a huge task, close to or exceeding the ability of humans.
Agree with you! That's why we should pray daily for our elected leaders. They have the weight of the World on their shoulders. It's an enormous responsibility.
❤🙏🏼
Yes, change doesn’t trickle down. History shows that. It also shows what happens when we are too willing to let someone else worry about steering the ship because we don’t want the responsibility. Too many US voters were quick to listen to the promises of à would be captain. We should have paid attention to the record of his behavior instead of listening to his campaign talk. We are in a ship with a captain and crew drunk on personal power. I hope Canadians don’t follow our example.
7:47 No. The angel only appeared to shepherds out in the fields.
One thing I've learned from being politically aware since the '80s is that change only ever happens from the bottom up. It's only once an idea is popular enough with the masses that The politicians will begin to care about it. Those at the top, right, left, and center, don't really want change because they're at the top. But to paraphrase AOC in one of her livestreams leading up the the election, their job is to win elections. So, theY have to do what the majority of people who are likely to vote for them want them to do ... if the can.
The world will change by building for the kingdom. There is work to do.
Could be getting some 'help' from your southern neighbors?
Stephen Harper, the Ford brothers, and likewise PP have already been south a few years back to study the campaign tactics of the GOP.
Populist rhetoric brough forward all the slogans. In Ontario, Doug Ford offered, "buck-a-beer" promises while offering little to meet the needs of homeless and addiction. But now, we have beer in convenience stores, handy (to be read with sarcasm).
Our national Progressive Conservative Party was swallowed up by the Social Credit-Reform- CPC from Alberta.
5:51 But no mere mortal can be a real messiah. Only Christ could because He could rise again. We cannot resurrect ourselves.
too all of you lovely people north of me, im so sorry this ugliness has infected your beautiful country as it has mine. seems the world is changing for the worse nearly all over. good vibes too you all.
He said he'd reduced prices of groceries just to get the vote
there will be change for the people who work and have pride in their wealth they have nice things just as mathew had but in this modern time you have people unwilling to wait for Christ they want it now so your seeing a great dividing a system of the "want it now by law" rather than by the heart
❤❤❤ Maybe Pollieve (sp?) can be mad at Trump!!
How would that work? Isn't his base similar to Trump's?
What. No comment on Justin Trudeau?
This was recorded before he resigned. It comes from the earlier live chats.

@@donnygrande3662 I know. For over 50 years…..
I apologize talking poltics.... but I worry about Poilievre on many levels. However, I can't vote for Trudeau and the liberals. I wasn't going to watch the Jordan Peterson interview because Jordan divides and spews intolerance (which always causes hatred). However, I was surprised the interview was actually ok and not crazy radical.
Thank you, thank you. I have avoided the news lately. I feel like i can't survive trump's inane ugly ways again! But of course, i will as long as God gives breath and wants me here. I am trying to remember all of His encouraging words. They are not just trite sayings or magic spells, but the Breath of my life, if i don't let fear swallow me. I do know that, yet... here comes a panic attack tonight over the News... so much heartache everywhere and trump sounding like Putin... we are going to take this land and that land; let bad guys go free and take over; and jail the good guys! Oh, Lord, hear our prayers... and those who soon, too late, realize their poor choice. Lord, we are such children... take pity and save us from ourselves. Laugh up Your sleeve at these braggarts as you mention in Psalm 2, and grant You sheep peace and pity, still waters, and astound these unique boisterous persons who think they will take over. You are God, not they! Please protect us and guide us through this mindless, heartless time coming up. Give us confidence in You and not killer fear. Help us to learn and grow in Your Grace and Mercy and to know how You would want us to move ahead in love, not anger and fear. Let us not forget our Prime Directive of spreading the Good News. Let us do it wisely, honorably, and in Your Spirit. Let us not focus on the noise, but the commission You gave us. Grant our hearts peace no matter what . For Your Glory, oh LORD, amen
Breathe, breathe. And know you are in good company with millions who agree. May God give you peace!
2:25 typical of Trump. He makes promises he has no idea how to fulfill.
Or INTENTION to fulfill.
@ That too.
Pastor, where is the Lord in your ministry? As believers, should we not be sharing the gospel of the saving grace of the Lord?
I see the cross behind you and that you represent as a teacher of the word. Pastor, where is the word in your message. Jesus did not get into the world's politics. In fact, he made it clear he is not of this world. His kingdom is above and his message to us is to not be of the world but to put our sights on the kingdom of God. This world is dying and we are offered the free gift of eternal life through the grace of a merciful God.
God bless.
If Jesus wasn't political, what was he doing in the Temple?
@therobertreview8382 give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar and to God what is God's. Jesus was not about Caesar's business but about God's
Excuse me. Go talk to the evangelicals. They tell you WHO you have to vote for if you are a Christian, and it's ALWAYS conservative/Republican. They spend MILLIONS to put them in office. You are barking up the wrong tree and padding yourself with religious words.
Guess you listened without ears.
@@jameshartley7644
Bible scholarship reveals that was a sarcastic quote Jesus made about rendering to Caesar. Maybe you know that taxation was an unknown concept to Israelites until the Romans came around.
Don't you discriminate between context and actual history or like most Fundies, that doesn't matter to you?
If you are that guy, thanks for giving us Trump.
Good riddance to Justin Trudeau!!!
Speaking of Trump "once in power..." you do know he is not President yet, right???
I know. I just wish he’d quit acting like he is and getting reported on as though he were.
