This is the first time Igor Krutoy had heard Dimash.
Igor's mother is from Ukraine and his father was a Russian Jew.
Though Igor has built mansions for his wife, family and his mother in south Florida, his mother often
returns to Ukraine and Russia and had heard Dimas on a couple of occasions.
Igor had been retired for 25 years and was restless with life. He had the wealth, (13 billion) but his creative energies needed to go back to work. His mother told him about Dimash and he went to Russia to hear him in this performance.
Almost immediately, he was meeting with Dimash and Kanat (father of Dimash) to offer them his services.
This Jewish man and the Muslim young man have spent the years since then making some great music together.

Dimash is a storyteller who uses his entire arsenal (technique, vocal range, body expression, style...) as a resource to involve the audience in the story he presents. Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band's name is A'Studio (Russian-based Kazakhstani pop music group, "Alma-Ata Studio", city of Almaty). I looked up on Wikipedia Dimash's albums. If I read it correctly, his first album , which was done in 2018, just after he returned from China, became Platinum just 37 seconds from its release time, and at least 4 more times that same hour. I'm 76, and I am so happy I'm still around to hear this most remarkable singer. I've been a DEAR for 3 or 4 years. His music and videos bring tears to my eyes. Dimash is an incredible vocal storyteller, many songs are like this, they build slowly, but he’s telling a story, beautifully. Really loved your reaction, it’s difficult to find words to describe Dimash, especially in the beginning, because he is capable of doing so many things vocally and intertwine opera with pop and traditional sounds, it’s a roller coaster of thoughts and then he does something completely different, but all of it works beautifully together. This makes Dimash very unique, he will do a few cover songs that you may know or one’s that are more known in other countries or cultures , the fun part is once you are more familiar with his music, you will probably do what most Dears do and sing along in a language that you don’t even know, it’s so much fun and inclusive, you become a part of a huge family of Dears, and it’s wonderful ❤

So the guy that stands up at the end in the audience in the white shirt, that is Igor Krutoy, he is a composer that came out of retirement to compose for Dimash. They have many collaborations together after this performance. His breath control comes from swimming, I can't remember which 'old time' singer did it, possibly Frank Sinatra, maybe someone else, but swimming helps with developing better breath control. There are going to be many many MANY different styles that he sings, many languages that he sings in, so, yes, always put the cc on if it has it. Some prefer to watch without it as it distracts from concentrating on the vocals, but It's always nice to know what is being said as well. Oh, if you react to his Ave Maria (which is not the traditional one), it was arranged by Igor Krutoy, you won't need the cc on... there's no words. 😊 Enjoy your dive into Dimash world!

He's a famous Russian/Ukrainian composer who came out of retirement after watching this performance to work with Dimash. And he's also one of the people who started the New Wave competition show in which Dimash was a guest singer. (This performance).

A really important piece of his talent is the fact that he trained with professionals as his voice changed in puberty. He was able to keep his high end while developing his low end range. That is a special kind of training and he had full access to it.
He is an angel 😇. I would recommend watching from when he became famous on the Chinese competition show the singer and work forward as you will see how his voice has matured over time.

The song was originally performed in 1998 and the lyrics are by the poet Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, (the keyboardist with long hair, which we see in the video accompanying Dimash.) The tones in the middle are oriental Arab technique (or traditional qazaq singing, called Joqtaw. It is a lament to the deceased singer). The last run is 24 seconds on 1 breath.

This is another cover of an older song that Dimash poured his magic into! The man in the audience who gave a standing ovation is Igor Krutoy, a famous composer who went back stage to meet Dimash & began working with him, even though he had retired! They have worked a lot together & have a fantastic relationship, almost like father & son. Igor has said that he will continue to work with Dimash as he is unique, not just in hus vocal ability but because he knows instinctively how a song should be sung. Dimash also works with other composers & is a fantastic composer himself, look for War & Peace, The Story of One Sky & El Amor En Ti all of which Dimash composed & they are all masterpieces! With The Story of One Sky please watch the official mv which is incredible and the mv is like a mini movie. Dimash worked on this song for 3 years, from writing the story to composing the music & writing the screenplay for the mv. Be warned that you will probably need tissues for this one!
He actually started as a toddler he was born pitch perfect he grandma used to press keys on the piano and he would make the sound. He was enrolled at the age of 5 in a prestigious music school as the youngest ever admitted. He has been singing since he could vocalize sounds basically.

On another note I would personally like to introduce you to Angelina Jordan one of the very best young singers in the world today ! She has been singing since the age of two and now at 17 is becoming a superstar ! She is not a Pop tart or mainstream singer ! She has over 180 You Tube covers and originals !
