Anyone who watched the video, made by a fan with his cell phone, of Dimash's show in Hong Kong, had the pleasure of a first contact with the song “When I've Got You” and realized, in Dimash's own music and in the lyrics by Candice Kelly and Dmytro Gordon, a romantic, seductive and passionate song sung with Dimash's own virtuosity. There was tension and anxiety in being able to watch the studio version with better sound quality...
Now, with the release of this music video, we realize how creative Dimash is:
A suspense video with a “noir” atmosphere, but without being located in the past, and a tale of passion about a supernatural creature who feels alone and needs to fulfill his passion for a mortal woman who suffers for wanting and not wanting turn her into one of his supernatural creatures.
Iskander Yerbolat's plot intrigues us to solve the mystery of the entire tale being a dream of a journalist who interviews “DQ”, or being a reality where the “vampire” did not bite his “prey” out of love! Intriguing...
The video is a show in itself: Desaturated with vivid red details (umbrella, blood in the hands, blood in the pool, advertising sign, neon on the mirror...), a classic Rolls Royce, a gloomy and modern mansion and lots of details.
As background music, he uses the work “Flower Duet” (Lakimé) by Léo Delibes. To create an old and suspenseful atmosphere, he does not use the 1968 edition and recording, by Joan Sutherland and Jane Berbié, but rather the original version from 1915, sung by Alexandrovna Mikhailova and Ivanovna Panina, recorded with a gramophone!
The music video is a story that pays homage to several classic dramas involving supernatural creatures and passion! The impeccable editing with precise cuts that complete the script, simple and extremely efficient effects and masterful performances: Dimash (the seductive and tormented vampire, Polina Guzieva (the passionate journalist), Manuel de Jesús Sánchez Sotolongo (the sinister butler) and the harem of soulless vampires (Angelin Sapozhnikova, Valeriya Lyasheva, Andreana Tkachenko, Maria Aristatarkhova, Lilia Kiser and Klinnyushina Alina), superb!
The music is a show in itself: a mix of Blue, Scat, Jazz, R&B, Rock... Captivating variations: a bridge to the chorus full of strength and seduction and a beautiful chorus inspired by classic rock and dexterity and Dimash's agility! In addition to the well-placed guitar solo performed by Abik Jeksen!
The video captures and captivates from the beginning to the sign, which we let pass while still mesmerized by the “spell” of the vampire who can break the fourth wall!

Девушка(Гузиева Полина-чемпионка по легкой атлетике,Мисс Евразия) с красным зонтиком, над ней SMALL - тоже красным светится.Для любопытных:где снимался фильм.SMALL-торговая сеть в Казахстане(Алматы). Ролл-ройс ретро.Случайно?Нет!Ответ будет позже. Красивое здание,нет не в готическом стиле,но не без претензии.Колоритная фигура дворецкого(Мануэль Десанчес Сотолонго-кубинец,учитель танцев в Алматы).звучит старинная патефонная запись(Французская опера "Лакме",Дуэт цветов.1915г.).Маска,синяя накидка с белым орнаментом(символ Франции),опера...Здание-французская резиденция в Казахстане(Алматы). Так все продумано и взаимосвязано до мелочей.Отмечу основные. Даже красные титры фильма и тематика(вампир) имеют значение.Перед нами главный герой.На кого похож?! Явное же сходство! Да,на Майкла Джексона! Thriller(1983г.). Димаш большой поклонник Майкла Джексона и его творчества.В 2019г.Димаш давал концерт в Астана(Казахстан),где исполнял попурри на песни М.Джексона (Billie Gean, Eаrth song...)
Бледный главный герой ,за ним нечто ,изображающее руками. Мы понимаем:перед нами нечто неживое! Это богиня Кали.А вот и еще одна связь .Лакме-Лакшми(санскрит) ,богиня Кали(индуизм)-богиня внезапной смерти,возмездия,но смерти,как продолжение жизни. И ,что интересно,главные герои оперы-француженка и индийский офицер! Блондинка танцует.Движения свободные ,легкие,что не скажешь о ковене вампира.Движения ломанные,хаотичные,безвольные. Наш герой подавил их волю.Но гостью свою не тронул.Нет он ее не укусил. Он оставил за ней свободу,право выбора,потому что влюблен и хочет вырваться из этого состояния.И ,обратите внимание ,как он наблюдает за ней исподтишка(Димаш-еще и актер!!!).Это взгляд ребенка удивленного,очарованного,любопытство. ....
Девушка в машине,встрепенулась.Сон?Нет.О чем и гласят заголовки в газете."Ежедневные новости бит-музыки". А вот и ответ. Ретро роллс-ройс!!!
Бит-музыка(1960г.Великобритания)-сплав рок-н-ролла,ритм-н-блюза,соула,дувопа,скиффла.Фактически предвесница рока.В музыке доминирует ,как правило,чистая гитара,сильный и гармоничный вокал,четкая партия ударных инструментов.Песни имеют запоминающийся мотив(то,что вы и отметили-простая). Все это мы и услышали в фильме!

I love just about everything that Dimash performs and his versatility is completely unmatched. Be with Me is also fun (Dimash has a childlike sense of fun and humour. He knows when to be serious and conscientious, but he likes to be different characters in his performances. There are so many different performances that you still have yet to discover- cheers from Canada!

The story of one sky is a must. MV then live. He sings in different styles in this one song and also composed it. You’ll be shocked by his ending voice. He also did a cover of Freddy mercury’s the show must go on. He didn’t speak English very well at the time but his voice was amazing. He also did a queen medley with the super vocal boys which I think you’ll enjoy him rocking out
It"s a fascinant short horror movie!! Each one believe in a different end but it"s a dark love story. There is a lot of talent artistically and techcnically into it... Now you can see the sound check of this MV. And so you can watch Week end with Burak Yeter and/or Lose Control with Chanté Moore. I suppose you can be surprised by Dimash yet!! Regards to you! 😊

Dimash has quickly become my favourite male singer. He's amazing. If you are looking for other artists to check out, also in my top 5 are Tommy Johansson, Erik Gronwall, Marc Martel. Tommy J is the former guitarist for Sabaton, which of course is linked to Floor Jansen of Nightwish (her hubby is drummer for Sabaton). Tommy is a power metal singer, but covers everything from Disney to metal. Erik Gronwall is also a metal singer. and just stepped down as lead singer for Skid Row.. He is concentrating on other projects and solo work. The two did a collab on a Sabaton song - Carolus Rex (on Gronwall's channel). Both have extensive library of songs on their YT channels as Tommy J uploads something almost every week (unless he is on tour with his own band Majestica). Both are Swedish. Martel did the vocals for the Bohemian Rhapsody film. He does all things Queen, plus other covers as well as his own music. Martel is Canadian. Lastly if you've not heard of RUSH you should check out their YYZ (live from Rio) it's an instrumental but the whole vibe where the audience actually sings along is incredible and you might appreciate the guitars. The "restraint" is a good point you made that many reactors are missing in their analysis..this "restraint" actually gives room for his fans to be able to sing this songs because at least in term of the range of the notes aspect of this song is still accessible to larger portion of humanity relatively in comparison to most of his songs which are not accessible to larger portion of humanity in that term.😂

He wrote this last year when he was in LA, along with "Smoke." I love it when Dimash pushes the boundaries.

Yup grit isnt used in classical/opera or taught in modern singing, but he learned it recently for 'one sky' - at least i assume so- its the first song of his i ever heard him use it in- and since then ive heard him use it a little in several songs- this one and another.
Given this is Dimash im sure he's very protective of his voice, so im sure he took his time as was super careful to learn to do grit in a way that wouldnt have a negative impact on his voice.

Dimash sings many different genres. Let's face it, he can do it all !! He did a cover of Queen's, Show Must Go On & he also did a medley of Queen songs with a group called The Super Vocal Boys...you really need to check both of those out. You'll see some more of Dimash's rock side. He loves Queen & Michael Jackson.

Dimash uses "Metal voice" in "The Story of One Sky" but as of yet, no pure Metal or hard rock songs. He does use vocal grit in his rendition of "Go Go Power Rangers from 2017 so this is not a new technique.
