Hours before Fledging - SUNDA PYGMY WOODPECKER Nesting

Little Junior was mighty restless, sticking its head out most of the time & calling repeatedly. Its parents were seen foraging on the same tree, calling encouragingly from time to time. They flew down to feed Junior, a surprisingly frequent number of times. Junior could be seen placing one foot resolutely at the threshold. It was evident that Junior was going to make a life-changing decision soon!
The Sunda Pygmy Woodpecker is a common resident in Singapore.
