The new camera setup looks great Dave, nice and clear! I bought the silver McLaren and I am looking forward to getting it on my track (I am way behind with tunes and test drives lol). As always, good stuff Dave!
Great video and yes these Mclarens are awesome! I bought the yellow one and it’s one mean fast machine on my track. Really happy about its performance. Great car for sure. Thx Dave! Cheers 🍻
Hi Dave, new slotter here. Well, to be more accurate I was into HO when I was a kid. But now as an aging adult I wanna race cars! Anyway, I put out a request for fellow enthusiasts on a Facebook group and I received a response. The gentleman has a 90 foot layout and a group of racers. So of course I had to buy some cars! I purchased from LEB the GT40 and the Maserati GT3. Thank you for you very informative videos.
I've got the same two cars, the McLaren and the Mercedes from NSR and my initial feeling was the same. However I have a timing system and surprisingly the time doesn't seem to agree. While the McLaren definitely feels more stable and kicks with less force, it doesn't seem to manage to gain time in the Mercedes, at least for me. Good news so I can put them in the same race against each other. Thanks for the nice videos!
Dave, what lens are you using on your Sony? Sigma 16m 1.4? That is what I have on my Sony and I am going to start using to record on my channel. I need to work on my lighting and backdrop. Your setup looks great! Now the cars.. your killing me Smalls. I now want one of the NSR McLaren.. I think my next video will be about my Top 5 cars... I WANT TO BUY! 😂 It appears to handle fantastic.. and looks quick! What is your plan for timing? Does Policar make a timer for their track? Anyway to use Smart Race, using your phone? Great content! Keep up it up!
So I have an 18mm Samyang that I bought from Adorama as an open box sale price. It's wide and the sharpness is excellent. The lights are the really important part. Getting enough light and all of the same color balance is tough. That is unless you buy lights. Next you need a lavalier mic. Boya makes good, cheap wired mics, which is what I use. I also use their wireless mic setup too. The Boya lav single mic costs only 20.00 and is WELL worth the money. I have several of them for work and for the blog. So my next step is to do track power, my uncle is giving me his adjustable power supply and I'm going to wire in my wiring loom from Slot Car Corner. I do have some apps that do timing. I'll have to test them and see if they are consistent. Yes I have the Smart Race app too, which I plan to use first. Thanks for watching Marty.

Camera & lighting work awesome!
Out of interest how does it compare to a NSR Mosler?
As a huge mclaren fan, i will buy one of these when we get real liveries
I understand. i'm sure you won't be disappointed.
Hi Dave
Just an FYI Your intro and outro audio were fine but
I am only receiving your audio on the left channel.🏁✌️🏁
yes I'm not sure why but this mic set up only recorded one channel in this video.
Ha, and I only had my right headphone in for the first 2-3 minutes just hoping that it would get fixed…

Looks like you need some borders instead of hitting your tyre barrier
I don't have enough room at the end of the table to have shoulders. I have the track right to the edge.
