I worked for a guy up in Mercer County for 17 years, and we had about 10 WM Ultra boilers. Mostly Series 3 but a few of the Series 2's. I used to order the kit from WM and spend a few hours cleaning the boilers. Some were worse than others, but it was fun to do. Now that I'm down here in NC, we hardly do any boilers, and most guys have never seen them let alone know how to work on them. Keep them vids coming.
Nice, I have only put in 4 or 5. Modern marvels for sure.

I was as one back in the summer that had a fault with the DHW temp control that I couldn't reproduce, went through all of those blue and red screens of readouts but nothing really wrong with the boiler's internal guts, so I left it, no call backs in 6mo, but I can see it's overdue for a bunch of work between an install that wasn't right on the Elec+gas, and the big gasket at the top has leaked at some point. I decided it was an all-or-none deal to get into it. Customer wanted to kick the can for a bit longer.... Fine with me, it only gets more $$$ the longer you postpone the inevitable!!

How are these boilers on oil? (Direct vent) Do you see many of these with oil? I have a WGO4, I'm in North NJ.
not sure. I do no oil at all.

I was like wtf is that noise like a broken old rocking chair or low speed belt slippage, then you said gas meter lol
so annoying....lol
@@ChuckBarron I should have known it was a gas meter, heard many of them making that noise, but usually not so loud, camera mic must have been sensitive in the range lol

i am over in PA here and my weil mclain ultra 80 shuts off each year around the same date dec 12 then again feb 14 to 20th sometimes. it comes up with supply too fast and i tried calling weil mclain and got same story as you it's probably temperature sensors which makes no sense why would it shut down on same date each year
Got a mclain ultra 8 years old , have ignition failure lockout any ideas?
shut down power .....reboot.
@@ChuckBarron I did worked for an hour maybe 2 then same thing, seems intermittent. BTW no service has been done in 8 years.

Those tankless gadgets are trash. They get u to replace with them warranty’s. Stick to regular old school water tanks
