    The only problem i see in construction is that steel v bearings running on softer aluminum. Although might work out.

    • @TheUsernamechris
      @TheUsernamechris 4 роки тому +2

      The v-wheels are delrin so that the aluminum won't be worn out, rather the wheels are the ones that wear out. The machine uses off-center nuts to mount the wheels so that they can be kept tight over time

  • @FullMetalFox2
    @FullMetalFox2 4 роки тому +2

    There are several things that bug me about this machine, mostly how the Leadscrews are sitting inside while they had the opportunity to put them outside and use the aluminium angle as a dust deflector, would have been especially good for cutting aluminium. And its hard to be sure with the camera bloom, but are those 3D printed parts on a 1,3k machine? Yeah, no, for that money you can get a STEPCRAFT-2/D.600. Back to the drawing board IMHO.

    • @justkiddin1980
      @justkiddin1980 4 роки тому

      If you look closely you might be able too turn the runners around and shim the difference at cost for a little work surface..

    • @TheUsernamechris
      @TheUsernamechris 4 роки тому +3

      The full kit for a 30" x 30" cutting area is 1100USD where if you're comparing it to the STEPCRAFT D.600 kit it has a price of 1800USD and a work area of 23.6″ x 16.5". Certainly there will also be some differences between the machines for a $700 price difference.
      In regards to the lead screws, the design of the machine is reversible to make the rails face outwards if the user is concerned about dust. If you're running the machine with a dust shoe though, there are no problems at all with dust affecting the performance of the machine

    Hmmm i wonder is this better then a workbee?? I think not, it does not look ridgid enough, the v wheels running on the profiles do not look sturdy enough, exposed lead screws and leadscrew whip as seen in this video..I think for the money you’re better of buying a Workbee..

      @@TheUsernamechris im looking at many machines at the moment and kind of surprised that a machine thats been out this long, has no review videos. and there has been alot of talk in the facebook group about Z depth changing/going too deep but Z zero being correct..and supposedly all settings are correct in grbl.. any idea what the issue is? im ready to pull the trigger on something but do not want to regret anything later (on any machine) are there any import duties and taxes to the usa? thanks

    • @TheUsernamechris
      @TheUsernamechris 4 роки тому

      @@sac40218 hey Chris, yeah I was chatting with that guy over on the group and it turned out the microstepping on the driver had been switched over - pretty easy fix 👍 To be honest we keep spending so much time working on the machines and assisting customers that we haven't had a chance to really reach out to anyone to make a review of the machine. If you'd like you can see our customers take in our FB group, online forum, or in our customers reviews on our product page. If you're in the states then you will have to pay brokerage fees once the machine arrives at your door but otherwise all other costs happen at checkout. You can even put your address in the cart and you'll see an estimation on the shipping cost before you have to purchase it.
      If you have any other questions let me know 🙂

      I should specify which ones you're referring to. The ones that hold the frame (y axis pieces) to the board are 3d printed. The ones that hold the moving gantry piece (x axis) are metal.
