Hello gents. As someone who’s new to growing - having got awarded an allotment at home in Leeds a week ago - I got dewy eyed when I searched then found guidance from Sligo folks (looks like Ben Whiskin(?) in the background?). A place with happy memories of the countryside and double that of the people! Keep on keeping on. 👍

My purple cabbage is growing alright, planted out in the garden one week ago. today i saw some of the leaves ( the bottom ones ) turned purple from the outside and spreading towards inside of each leaf. Is it some kind of disease?
you have the best information thank you
Thank you too, Danny.
Thank you for your videos. What varieties do you recommend for all year harvesting ?
Thanks
Hi, I had my seeds sown in one tray. They have now germinated and are around 3 cm tall. When should I move the seedlings to individual pots to grow before planting them outside?
Thank you very much for your help. Great and informative videos!
I’m fairly new at this too, but unless you’re too early to transplant directly to your garden I’d let them grow strong root systems in the cells and then transplant direct to the garden where they like to grow best!
Wait for the them to have strong stem and transfer them straight to garden
Love these videos! thanks :)
Verry good
My 1st time growing red cabbage ..have them in the greenhouse and they have got quite tall tbh so I was wondering do I have to cut off the leave stems in order for them to grow into a heart? and if so can I still use the leaves for cooking that I do cut off? I am not a great gardener and i would say normally i have Black fingers not green BUT i did grow savoy last year never realy got a heart but still used the leaves!
I search now how to planting cabbage coz I wanna try but don't know how,,we are here in Philippines I'm not sure it will grow here we have very hot temperature here thanks for sharing I got very nice instructions thanks staysafe
It will. I know cabbage is grown here Ghana with a climate similar to the Philippines
I was waiting for you guys to explain how to take care of the little forming head. All my cabbages don't grow past that stage. Some pests just eat up that little head.
thanks for the information i plant seed never grow
It's a shame you didn't tell us about spring cabbages! I love watching your videos and didn't want to go elsewhere for information!
You. Text was fantastic
Hello! What is your climate in the video? I'm planting cabbage for the first time ever, today, it's pretty hot here in MD/USA. 82° rising to a high of 87° and feels pretty humid. I hope I don't lose these beautiful plants?!!! =\
My brassicas, including cabbages all develop a stem which flops and lays flat on the ground. I transplant them up to first leave, tramp down the soil so it's firm. I've tried sowing different times of year. I do lime the soil and there doesn't appear to ne club root. Far north UK. What's going wrong?
How much do you water when they are in the tray? What were the pellets? What is the soil that is needed? Thx.
I like it..
To clarify, when I transplant; If they are laying sideways they aren't buried deep enough and mounding up or burying up tp the first leaf set is the best thing to do?
I planted 8 seedling red cabbages about 4 months ago and they are not growing. Stayed the same size and Im down to 4 now. Any tips of what I can do to get them to grow? (Im in FL)
Novice question. Do you only eat the head or do you also eat the big cabbage leaves around the head?
What do you use to keep your cabbage clean from worms
I have a purple cabbage that has started to grow in the fridge. How do I grow it, in the soil?
In which month we should star this seedling
Im in Africa, please for how long should I hold the sawn seeds in the fridge before bringing them out?
Super sir
So the head forms much later?
Hi, I planted my cabbages in spring time. Some of them are already flowering instead of growing the cabbage inside. Could you help to tell me why it is flowering? thanks
So in Minnesota you can start. Out side and not indoors
I'm growing this at the moment, nicest way to eat it guys?
What do use for pest control
i noticed when you went back to cut the cabbage head a lot of leaves had been cut off? Did i miss something, i watched it back again but still flumoxed, i have not had much luck with growing cabbage they are not germinating, not sure what i am doing wrong
How often do you water cabbage
Are red cabbages perennial? I have 8 growing in my garden and wanted to know if they'd come back the following year and if so, how should I prepare them for that?
Cabbage and it’s immediate relatives are either annual like broccoli or more commonly biennial.
Hi everybody I enjoy my first year growing I have a few videos I made so I can go back and see
So I just planted and I know we are expecting some snow yet, I planted it outside just to see, because last year I saw a guy from norway had his best success with lettuces, so I wanted to try it. I sort of gave it some charcoal and covered it with a charcoal log to keep it warm because it's suppose to snow for a few days. It's an experiment, any thoughts? I will definitely plant again later
How did the experiment go?
A question for Klaus if he does not mind me asking what make of fine seed compost does he use, I would be so grateful to have a reply I am a disabled amateur gardener
What are pultry pellets?
I have to wait for 4 month ! my small area garden can't afford this long
Do you not need to cover the cabbage?
what is the germination time for cabbage.
I sowed cabbage seeds 5 days back. not yet germinated
Cabbages can take 4-10 days to germinate, depending on the temperature. They sprout between 10 and 30 degrees C.
What is poultry pellets?
I want red cabbage seeds for thesis in msc horticulture.
What if I don't have cabbage seed what will I do
❤ how can I get the seed
They had to replant a few....I don't feel so badly now...since even the pros run into problems 😂
it is February now in Australia
Ugh
Ok I have cabbage and they have long stems haven't seen any like this don't know when to put in garden????
Hi, will the stem bear another cabbage ?
Yes once you cut the main head, it will keep producing side shoots and they will form smaller heads
MY CABBAGES!
Whats the plant behind him at the end there
@@Avora227 Thank you.
What are poultry pellets?
Hi, they are a slow release plant feed containing chicken manure. Here is an example; www.quickcrop.ie/products/4kg-seafeed-natural-seaweed-extract-poultry-manure-fertilizer.html
Hello, how are you, my dear, I planted cabbage and I did not have a head, and I knew what the reason was
I”m gonna plant a lot of them this time
A butterfly would visit my Garden “oh how beautiful” l thought but She laid all her larva on my cabbage and they Eat the whole thing...!!!
Same here :D:D:D
Cabbage can grow in hot weather???🤔🤔🤔
but what kind of dirt is good for the plant
Cabbages tend to thrive in in soil with a lot of organic matter, so mix in a 2-3” (5-8cm) layer of good garden compost or well rotted manure when you prepare the bed. They require a high nitrogen content to promote healthy foliage.
@@Quickcrop dirt? DIRT? think you mean soil or earth things don't grow in dirt.
