In case you were wondering: Why should one study these free permit practice test videos from Drivers Ed Direct?
Here's why it may be important to you:
Before you can get a DL (drivers license) in California, you’ll need to pass a written knowledge test (and a drive test) to show that you know the rules of the road. Our videos prepare you for this required knowledge test!
Besides studying this video with Instructor Liz, here are a few more suggestions for prepping for your DMV knowledge test:
1) Watch all of the Drivers Ed Direct permit practice test videos here: • DMV Written Drivers Li...
2) Sign up for our DMV approved Drivers Ed Direct online course where you'll get access to unlimited, randomized practice tests: www.driverseddirect.com/getst...
3) Read the California Driver Handbook. It contains a lot of good information and also covers EVERY possible question that will show up on your DMV permit test.
4) On your test day, read the test questions carefully. Don’t overthink things as there are no “trick questions” on the DMV test.
5) Relax and don't be nervous, the DMV wants you to pass your test.

Outrageous 😅 One answer states that it's illegal to drive 50 in a 45 even though everyone else's speed is 50....then a couple answers later it states that driving more slowly than the flow of traffic makes a collision more likely to happen! 🤣😜
Thank you for your help❤

Mam you question we understand properly ur explain very nicely thanks god bless you
Thank you!!
I love all these videos they have helped so much. But I still get confused more about on the road. If three or more cars are going to cross who goes first? And also what does "left lane yield on green" mean?
Hello, hope I can help! If three or more cars come to an intersection at the exact same time at an all-way stop, always yield to the car on the right. If you are not sure, then try to communicate to the other drivers with eye contact or a friendly wave so that you can all proceed safely. Never insist on your right-of-way if it helps prevent an accident.
I am not familiar with "left lane yield on green", but I think you may be referring to the sign "left turn yield on green" that is referenced here: ua-cam.com/video/UkCCXqHGwYE/v-deo.html - it basically means that if you are turning left on a solid green light, you must first yield to oncoming traffic and pedestrians and then turn left only when it is safe.
Hope that helps!
Very helpful
Glad you think so, thank you!

@@DriversEdDirect thanks

Can you please explain to me the differences of which way the front wheels should face uphill, downhill, when there is a curb and when there is no curb. I keep getting confused.
Hello, great question! Uphill WITH a curb, turn your wheels away from the curb. All other situations, turn your wheels toward the curb (downhill with a curb, downhill without a curb, uphill without a curb). This saying may help you remember it for the test:
*With a curb up, it’s up up and away,*
*Else turn your wheels the opposite way*
Hope that helps!
I’m in Florida & just started watching your videos for the permit test. Will these still help if I don’t reside in California?
Hello in Florida! Most of the questions from these California tests will apply to all states, but some laws will be different (especially DUI laws, provisional licensing laws, etc) - please read your DMV handbook for the most up to date and accurate information for your state. Best of luck to you!
You’re so pretty , I passed all my test
Is there any exceptions for not taking written exams if you’re over 70 years old ??
Passed
CONGRATS to you!!!

Is the dmv tests the same for every state?
Hello! Every state will have their own test, though many of the questions are very similar. Best of luck!
This dmv is for California not Florida right
You are correct, all questions reviewed here are actual CA DMV test questions. However, most of the rules/laws are applicable for all US states, including FL. Hope that helps!
I have a question what happened is your break not work can you still get in trouble
Can that happen can you still get in trouble
Hello! It would be very rare for your brakes to fail, but if your braking system were to fail, the first thing to remember is DON'T turn off your car. If you do, you'll lose the ability to steer, which is even worse. After that, keep these tips in mind:
If you find yourself in a situation where your brakes fail while driving, it's essential to stay calm and act quickly to ensure your safety and the safety of others on the road. Here are some steps you can take:
Stay Calm: Panic won't help the situation. Take a deep breath and focus on what you need to do next.
Try the Brakes Again: Sometimes brakes can temporarily fail due to loss of brake fluid or other issues. Try pumping the brakes a few times to see if they regain functionality.
Downshift to Lower Gears: If you're driving a manual transmission vehicle, downshifting to lower gears can help slow down the vehicle. For automatic transmissions, shifting to lower gears or using the "L" or "2" setting can achieve a similar effect.
Use the Emergency Brake: Carefully engage the emergency brake or parking brake. However, be cautious as this can cause your vehicle to skid, especially at higher speeds. Use it GENTLY and release if you feel the vehicle losing control.
Steer to Safety: Look for an open space, such as an empty parking lot or a clear stretch of road, and steer your vehicle towards it. Avoid crowded areas and try to minimize the risk of colliding with other vehicles or obstacles.
Signal Your Intentions: Use your hazard lights and horn to alert other drivers of your situation. This can help them give you space and avoid collisions.
Prepare for Impact: If you're unable to slow down the vehicle enough to avoid a collision, prepare yourself and any passengers for impact. Brace yourself by keeping both hands on the steering wheel and your foot off the accelerator.
Communicate: Once you've safely come to a stop, call emergency services to report the incident and request assistance. Provide them with your location and any relevant details about the situation.
Remember, every situation is unique, and these steps may need to be adapted based on factors such as your vehicle's speed, traffic conditions, and surrounding environment. It's always a good idea to stay prepared by regularly maintaining your vehicle and knowing how to respond in emergency situations.
Hope that helps!
Is this wirk for tx test toi
Hi thanks for watching! These questions are from CA tests, but most of the info applies to all states. We've had several comments from other state test takers who did well on their test using these videos. However, please be sure to read your state's DMV handbook for the most accurate info - especially in regards to alcohol and drug rules. Often times, the legal alcohol limits vary state to state. Hope that helps!
