    For me, the noise started about a week after the trans skid install and after 3 or 4 trips out wheeling. I had not had an alignment in about 5-6 months so I really didn’t expect it to be LCA cam pins but, otherwise the video says it all. Thank you for watching and I hope this helped!

    Thank you for this. I have the clunk with a full set of RCI skids and I was pretty sure it was the skids, but I didn't know where. Now I know where to start.

    Have the same issue with my trd skid and rci skid. This was super helpful. To confirm is a fender washer just a normal metal washer or rubber? Also you placed that washer in between the transmission skid plate and the rubber spacer ?

    • @stephenviggiano1610
      @stephenviggiano1610  Рік тому

      A fender washer is just a wide washer. Like it spreads out and covers a lot of surface area.
      I have the subframe, RCI bushing, then fender washer for tiny bit of extra gap, then the TRD skid.
      Hope this helps further 😎

      Just try to wash mud off after wheeling trips pretty quick, then McGuires Back to Black primarily.
      Regular washing. I do use a brush, when it’s really dirty I use the double bucket method.
      Wax quarterly.
      Undercarriage gets cleaned after really muddy trips. One rinse, one mild pressure wash, follow up with hand washing.
      Then cover the entire undercarriage with INOX MX3.

      He probably doesn’t live in the northeast where we have harsh winters and salt on the road but looks amazing. I got my 2016 TRD pro from PA over the NY border where I live and they use sand for the winter roads but it makes a huge difference.

    I got a question, I have a camper shell on my Tacoma with a 2 inch lift up in front and a 1.5 AAL rear, but the rear is sagging so much.. what should
    I do to fix the level? Would
    Sumo springs work?

    • @stephenviggiano1610
      @stephenviggiano1610  Рік тому +1

      Helper springs would possibly work but I’m not super knowledgeable on this exact topic.
      Of course the added weight is causing the sag and the only fixes are spacers or heavier and more durable springs.
      Check around on Tacoma World or maybe some of the Facebook groups before you spend money.

    I have the trd skid also. And its knocking in slow turns. Driving me crazy! I loosened the bolts and it helped a little but its still there. So the fender washers should fix it? Everything else suspension wise is torqued and solid

    • @stephenviggiano1610

      That or some thin rubber bushings.
      Do you only have an engine skid or do you have the TRD engine skid and a trans skid?
      If you have both of those skid plates, the likelihood that they bang on each other, while turning or going over bumps increases dramatically.

      @brianf1500 5 місяців тому

      I only have that six bolt TRD pro skid plate. The truck has a 2inch lift. I really don’t want to have to get rid of the skid, do the washers/ rubber bushings go on the 2 bolts in the rear of the plate?

    • @stephenviggiano1610
      @stephenviggiano1610  5 місяців тому

      @@brianf1500 try taking the plate all the way off and driving around. Take some hard turns, hit some bumps at a little bit of speed. See if that fixes the issue entirely. If that is not it, then it might be a lower control arm bolt or a number of other things.
