I was hoping he would cover the difference between the two in terms of durability and why one would prefer one over the other, not just showing how to install both.

Hello! Thanks for the feedback and great question. Durability between the two is pretty much exactly the same. Cold peel transfers has a more matt finish once pressed onto the garment and, in my opinion, a nicer feel. It is also easier to press - our hot peel transfer needs to be peeled immediately after pressing so is less forgiving. The hot peel suits a lot of our customers from a productivity perspective as it it a quicker process from press to peel. Whereas we have a lot of customers who prefer the cold peel as it allows more consistency with the peel.
      Does that answer your question?

Why are there 2 different types. Ive found hot peel a lot more convenient when doing one offs n custom jobs. Also is one cheaper?

      Both are the same price.
The cold peel has a matt finish once pressed compared to the hot peel. In terms of production suitability, they both provide different pros and cons and its gives you the ability to choose the transfer type that suits your business. Hot Peel as you mention is great for one off jobs and also churning through large volumes quickly as it is press, peel and the garment is done.
We have a number of customers who prefer the Cold Peel for its consistency - they might press 20 transfers one day and then the following week they might need to press another lot of the same transfer. Because they are allowing the garment to cool down first, things like fluctuation in temperature of your heat press isn't an issue so its a more consistent peel each time.

What about 2nd press? do you need one?

Provided you follow the instructions and you have a quality heat press that is calibrated, one press is plenty.
If you have the time though, a 2nd short press provides a more natural finish to the transfer. It also helps remove the glue shadow on darker garments (this usually disappears after the garment is washed though).
