Great content as always. I would love to see a comparison with more of the Big Box Survey GNSS Receivers... Leica GS18 and the like.

A comparison with a Trimble R12i would be even better. The performance under treh cannopies and hard conditions of this rover is unbelivable.

An good test is to measure an building corner with tilt on an then compare with the same Point masure with total station, in open sky tilt is ok, but wee need to measri buildings with this tilt

It would be great to see how it handles building corners, particularly in dense urban environments.

I currently have and use 2 rs+ units and lose fix quite often when any trees are around. would the rs3 (or rs2 for that matter) maintain a good fix using 1 of the rs+ units as a base if it was set up in good clear sky area? or does the base "have" to be dual channel as well to provide corrections to a dual channel rover? Do you have an older rs+ unit you could try this out on?

I think what would also be really useful would be if you could do a comparison with some more expensive options...? Also, great channel Rami & i enjoy your content, but... since youre clearly a logical & scientific minded person, maybe you could take it upon yourself to help drag your country kicking & screaming into the 21st century by giving your results in metric first & foremost rather than the other way round, thus helping to consign the ridiculous hotch-potch of units your countrymen keep insisting on using, to the garbage bin of history where they belong...!! I mean, seriously - decimal feet??!! If you guys can see the benefits of talking in decimals instead of the traditional inches / fractions of an inch etc, then come on - why not go all the way & embrace metric!!?? I feel like every time you give a dimension in decimal feet is a straight up hands in the air admission of how ridiculous a system you're using...! And then there's how many different types of feet you have to select from...??!! I don't mean to be mean or anything, but you guys need to know just how completely laughable this looks to the rest of the world...! All that feet & yards & stuff are called "imperial" units i.e. they came from the empire - the British Empire!! I thought you guys wanted your independence? Even we've largely given up on imperial units!! Come on guys - get with the programme!!

I’m having problems with the juniper systems geode GNS3M here in Guam. We don’t have NTRIP here, not sure if that’s what’s causing the errors, the software advertises 30cm accuracy but when tested on known survey markers the accuracies ( with atlas correction services ) are 1.46 - 3.5m off. I am currently looking for another product to satisfy our data collection needs. We currently have a Trimble r8 base station with the TDL 450 as the radio and get survey grade data, but are looking at another option similar to this or the rx. With the rs2 or rs2+, what we don’t want it ordering all this gear and then running into the same problems. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Rammi, since watching your videos I have been interested in trying EMLID, but my main question has been using the EMLID flow app for construction staking. It is also hard this information online could you do a video using the EMLID Flow app for construction surveying?

    • @kawchman

We just started using the Emlid RS3 Base and Rover at work. It works great for stake out. The most time consuming part is organizing your output data correctly so that Emlid Flow App can import it. Once that is done, it's a breeze. Unfortunately there isn't really a video on the Emlid website or UA-cam (that I've found) that explains the stake out process so I had to do some experimenting. Good luck!

    Hello Rami,
Really enjoy all your videos, great stuff!.
We recently acquired an Emlid RS3 and have been struggling to connected to our iphone 12 via hotspot.
As much as we have tried to follow the instructions and videos on Emlid's page we haven't been successful.
It shows a warning sign and the receiver option is grayed out even after refreshing it in emlid flow app.
If you have the time and be kindful to make a video on this starting from scratch we would really appreciated.

Is the loss of a fixed solution while surveying due to lack of exposure to clear sky (satellites) or is it due to lack of communication with the base? My current setup is using LORA radio and connecting to both base and receiver via bluetooth. Unfortunately there's no NTRIP network in my state.

    • @RamiTamimi
      @RamiTamimi  10 місяців тому

It could be either. A float solution means you have connections to your base station but not enough satellite visibility, and a single solution means that there is satellite visibility, but lacking a base connection.

@@RamiTamimi Thanks Rami! That is very helpful! I only really experience it when my base is on the other side of a house and I'm in a semi - enclosed spot so maybe I'll try moving the base to second known base point and try surveying from that side. Thanks again!

In my opinion , it's not the time ypur saving but rather the convenience of having a tilt compensator when you need a shot that might not allow a level rod. There is NO TIME SAVINGS except the time you choose to adhere to sound and precise surveying methods. Just my opinion
