Hi Nancy! You have such a good eye for thrifting, and put it all together beautifully! Your home exudes peace and serenity, as does your gentle spirit. I am in TN and we have been getting a lot of rain and cold days, still. One things I love about your place is that you have a smaller TV (ours is too..32 inches!) Our neighbor makes fun of us, but it is intentional. We have over 40 plants in our living room, so when people comment on the TV we say we focus on God's creation rather than man's!

What a cozy home!! I love the basket with the dishes in it. You make me want to change things up. I have a basket or two I want to paint and now that it's warming up a bit, I have a few small shelves and furniture pieces to paint that my dad made several years ago. This is beautiful, and once again, there's a lot of inspiration here! I also have the fondness for dishes and something you did to display them was something I had never considered... putting them in baskets instead of in the cupboard!! What a wonderful idea! When I get home today I'm going to use this idea, because I really do enjoy looking at them. You made your home so light and welcoming for the spring and summer seasons! Well done! Love the idea of just removing EVERYTHING out of the rooms before you start. I saw another gal suggesting the same thing in a decluttering video and it really resonated with me and you using this to just freshen for the season is such a great idea. Really clears the brain for new creativity. It's going to be my go-to plan for just general decluttering and rejuvenating any room going forward. It was such a visual clean slate! And everything looks lovely.

Nancy - There are so many cute pieces. My favorite is your bucket of lavender. And the sprinkling of lime green looks so fresh. I'm also a lover/collector of dishes, especially blue & white or plain white...got it from both grandmothers and my sweet aunt who gave me some of hers. ❤ You know, I'm patiently waiting for you to paint that dry sink. LOL 😊
🤣That's so funny, Marlene! Because I was just thinking earlier this week about the dry sink and the comment you made about painting it way back when I was decorating my guest room. So many sweet ideas. I just love the cottage look. I lost my sweet cat Jude on March 22. She had been with me for almost eleven years. The house is so quiet. She was so much company. Love your ironstone, especially the window sill display. I do see someone made a comment of your sink window looking out at a blank wall. I don't know if you could access the area, but hang a cute wreath there. Something green and very simple. It would add so much dimension,color and texture to that window area. You have some beautiful pieces of furniture. Love the inlaid kitchen table and chair. So perfect for that space. And the striped living room furniture is so classy, yet cozy. The shams as a pillow cover is really great. I have a wicker rocker in brown , that I plan on doing that to. Your vignettes are all so sweet and intentional. My favorite is the peg rack with the straw bag and hat near the front door. Pure charm. Is there anything better than feathering our nest?
Liane, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your comments. I especially appreciate your suggestion about hanging the wreath on the wall, as it's a sort of confirmation. This morning I was thinking about what to do to brighten that wall (which is the entry to my home) and the thought of a wreath came to me. And, to fit my style, it would have to be simple. So, your idea of "something green and very simple" is perfect, and I'm going to be on the hunt for just the right wreath. Thank you! You're right! There's nothing better than feathering our nest. Nancy, I really enjoyed this video. Everything looks great. My biggest takeaway personally is the use of the baskets for holding dishes. I love dishes, too, and struggle to find ways to display them. I like that you added a book to one and flowers to both. The pink dishes you have are so similar to the ones in my collection. I will try to post a pic of them on the Facebook group page. Two suggestions that I have are to add a springy pink throw to your sofa and to add a vintage or decorative ribbon or flowers to the white basket hanging. You may like the symmetrical white items flanking that window and may not want color, though. I love your calm, joyful cottage!!
Oh, I hope you'll share photos of your dishes. I'd love to see them. I think a pastel pink throw would be nice. I am partial to pink. It's funny you mention the symmetry of the white items "flanking that window". I did try more color where the basket is right now, and I didn't care for it. Not even the basket before I painted it. I realize my taste isn't everyone's cup of tea, though. That's what makes life interesting. Hugs.

My mother’s family is Czech so I enjoy collecting Czech dishes as well as blue and white patterns especially Burleigh Calico. Most women dream of a walk in closet but I dream of a butler’s pantry full of dishes.
