You can make stamps cheaply using the white vinyl erasers for smaller designs. They are a bit softer so not requiring as much pressure. Thanks for sharing your results. These are very cute and a great result for a first timer. 😻
I live in Oregon, USA, but my favorite region is the US Southwest. I have hundreds, if not thousands, of photographs of Utah, Arizona and New Mexico that I'm dying to paint but will probably never get to. What a shame. I was very fascinated by this work and how you accomplished it. It's something I've never tried. Once my back is fixed and I can comfortably sit upright again, I will have to try it. Thanks for the inspiration that fills me every time I watch your vids.
I mount mine on the cling sheets you use for mounting rubber stamps, one side is sper sticky and the other side is smooth and shinny and thats the side that clings to an acrylic block so you have something to hold onto while Stamping. Another easier way to stamp is lay the paper on top of the inked stamp and gently rub all over
Your videos are so informal and love your dash in and get creating approach!! I will be giving this a go for sure. 😊 Your demo gave me so much inspiration. Thank you for sharing your passion and gift for art! 🥰
Lol same with me. I keep adding to my wish list. I did treat myself to these tools but I thought I could get a lot of stamps out of them which essentially saves me money 🤔 Thank you for watching.
Love this idea! Thanks! I think you could use acrylic paint or acrylic markers and paint your Lino sheet a dark color before you draw or carve - it would make it clear as to what will be printed, since it will remain a dark color. Does that make sense? Not sure I explained it well.
Awesome video... i do these on occasion I know this video is a year old but wanted to share his information... For your viewers I do want to point out that you are actually using a rubber not lino (linoleum) Linoleum is much harder to cut and is flat however its much cheaper. A good tip for true lino is to heat it up.
WOW, these are just terrific and your art talent is so special. I remember something similar in Art class, we cut linoleum blocks for printing. I wasn't especially fond of the activity then but now seeing your video, I might just give it another go round. TYFS.
Hi, another fab video! I recently found a really handy solid finger/hand guard for use on the non-cutting hand while lino cutting. Not sure if it’s available everywhere but I found it in a craft shop in the UK and it was less than 5 pounds, my fingers are very grateful! xx
Excellent for a new beginner and otherwise. Love the nature theme in your relief. You can also colour the areas in you want black with a tush and carve away. As you print and carve away more areas it is called reduction. Wonderful work
I have just found your channel today. I was searching for info on iPad creating journal pages. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS. So, I am commenting here to beg you to please keep going on the iPad tutorial. Also, I am so pleased to know that there is a cheap art program to use for it. I never would have known about it if you had not made the video. I would never afford the Photo Shop art program. Thanks so much for listening.
Thank you for watching my videos. I will have a new procreate make your own antique paper and rose tutorial coming soon. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know if there is theme you would like to see. Cheers
Find an image, trace and rub on block to carve. Ink and press all over back of new carved stamp. Continue to ink and check image. Till you get it the way you want it.
If you stain or colour your carving material first (e.g. ink, marker pen), before carving, it helps to show you what will be negative (what you cut away, to remain uninked) and what will be positive (what will be printed).
Please make yourself a cutting surface, it helps with safety and helps to make more pressured cuts. All you need is a piece of wood larger than you think you would like to cut. Then add a length of 1 to 2 cm by 1 to 2 cm wood to fix along the underneath width of the main block. Use the same strips down the top length and width edges to make a right angle which will help your Lino to stay in place and to hold while you are pushing against. The lower bar will butt up against the table securing the block. I hope this helps, you can buy them but they are easy to make. Googling images of them will be more explanatory than my very basic instructions.
Please NEVER cut towards you!!! These tools are very sharp and can do so much damage. I know through bitter experience when first learning how to make stamps/lino cut.
I got so inspired that I ordered the kit. I just rewatched to video as I began to do my first stamp. Fingers crossed!!
That’s awesome! So excited for you. I am a little addicted. Haha
Trips to the ER probably cut into your crafting budget as well as crafting time!

Thank you. I am not sure what all the terminology is so that helps me a great deal. I really enjoy the process and I am for sure a beginner myself.
😊
Awesome stamps. You make it look easy-practice practice.
Yes practice is the key. Thank you 😊
Very informative video - enjoyed watching - tfs 👵🏻🎨❤️🤗👍🍄🍄

Neat! I had recently bought a speedball linoleum block set. I haven't had a chance to play yet.
Oh have fun! I didn’t make dinner the day I received mine I carved all day haha
Thank you for watching
Oh I get that for sure! Dinner?? But I made all of thes stamps and prints! ( fill in any alternative craft here) Hahaha

I found that, instead of using their small cutting tool to remove the outer excess, a pair of scissors do the same job, quicker.
Maybe it makes stamping easier when you press the stamp down with an acrylic or wooden block just laid over it. 🙂
I'm NOT a good drawer. I'm wondering if there's a way to do a reverse print on to the pink?
Sure you can. You use “transfer”( carbon) paper and trace the image on Hope that helps. 😊
Can you use paints instead of inks?
can you stamp fabric?!!!!!
Yes you can. 😊 I would recommend a fabric ink if you want to was it.
Please NEVER cut towards you!!! These tools are very sharp and can do so much damage. I know through bitter experience when first learning how to make stamps/lino cut.
You’re funny. Cutting your r finger will cut into our crafting time.
You waste a lot of block.
