@bbqsouthernstyle yes sir going to try and make pulled turkey tomorrow. Trying out a sweet tea brine. Turkey is definitely cheap cut for experimenting. Drum smoker is next on my list. What do you recommend?
Love your content, I'm kinda new to your channel but man, you have great ideas... (Shoe dropping) Only a tiny tip that in no way affects the cook... The Lemon / Lime squeezer, the fruit goes in the other way, really makes a difference on how much juice is extracted. (Kinda opposite to the way it looks, but it really stretches the membrane of the citrus.)
Thank you and welcome. I use the squeezer that way because they are short lived the other way with my big hands lol I always break the handheld. But thank you for the tip my friend.
Wow! What a delicious looking dinner that turkey is so moist and crispy. I appreciate your videos I’m learning alot from you and as always a beautiful presentation.
My grandparents owned a restaurant, and among many other "rules", my mom used to say that presentation was half of the job. And you prove it over and over again.
Another great one! Everyone is obsessed with brining their turkey and it’s totally unnecessary if you season and cook the bird properly. I inject, rub with herbed butter under the skin and some salt on the skin and that’s it before smoking and it comes out moist and delicious every time. I loved your Mexican spin on this and need to try it
Now that's a southern meal, I'm going to make the pickled onions and bananas the meal looks delicious as always, love to watch you cook and listen to your voice so calm and soothing, great job Chef👏💯❤️
ok, Alright!!i I only do turkey parts....as I get invited for *dinner(hint. hint)!! Thanks for sharing the flavor ideas....saw the olive oil name this time by the way I now use the Diamond Kocher salt....used to help flavor my homemade pickled cucumbers and others dishes
I've got that same little food chopper... it's awesome... I make a lot of salsa with it! We go traditional with the bird and fixin's here. We host supper and serve anywhere from 15-25, depending on the year and who can stop by. I keep things mellow to be able to serve so many (a few have voiced diet restrictions). Awesome video showing how a bird can be flavored and enjoyed. Thanksgiving isn't just in November... we should give thanks every month... I'll save this for another month where I can enjoy it for myself. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL
Oh my goodness that looks amazing, where do I start. 😅 The rice is so nice and fluffy, the beans sitting in it's thick gravy with onions and garlic, those fried bananas look absolutely delicious, and the turkey looks great. You garnished the dish so nicely Yummy Yummy 😋😊 I have to try this one, thank you for sharing such a great recipe. 😊
It's almost the holidays. I'm sure you're about to cook up so much mouth-watering, meat-on-the-bones deliciousness. This one is just the beginning. 2 thumbs up!
Hi there, my wonderful friend! I love fried plantain. I never thought to use plain bananas though, great idea. I have had grilled bananas in the peel. The peel is sliced and opened a bit and then put on the grill and turned until the banana is cooked. It was topped off with a slathering of Creme Fraîche. Not sure I was a fan of that. Plain whipped cream would’ve worked just fine! Your plate looked beautiful and colorful. You already know I’m a big fan of the frijoles negros con arroz! Nice job! 🎉
My dad would have liked that with the jalapeños. He would off set smoke a turkey, or Cohoe Salmon. Both the best I've had. Speaking of the turkey meat most people don't eat, the day after Thanksgiving was my favorite. Mom would spend an hour, it seemed like, picking meat off the carcass. Homemade egg noodles, homemade mashed potatoes, turkey gravy. Heaven on earth.
That looks really good! Id make a mess cutting that turkey I dont like dealing with bones..I know I know flavor..Turkey breast is more my speed. Thank you for sharing these! Great ideas! 😋
I have a different approach to the pickled onion. I boil the pickling brine and spices, load up the jar with sliced red onion and pour the boiled brine over them. The "shelf life" in the fridge is greatly extended
Everything that you cook looks amazing. I have cooked and enjoyed several of your recipes. My family and friends think that I am the best chef. 😂 I felt guilty and directed them to your videos so that they could subscribe. Keep cooking!😋❤️
How can I buy a plate. Your food make me want to go in my pocket and buy a portion. Sheesh! Your food is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Sheesh! Now I am hungry. Lol
That’s a delicious looking Turkey very moist yummy! I don’t like those turkey bags people be cooking their turkey in it actually dry out the turkey I’m old school I like my roasting pan for a turkey those oven bags dry out the turkey. What you think? And as always a beautiful presentation.
Friend, where does one get that pit cooker, I think that you called it. It comes with that gizzard basket. I need one of those. I remember you using it to make brisket, which is just so great. Please.
Hey I heard you say in the video about the brisket and rubbing it down in Lard which I learned from my elders in the family.. in which they are all gone now 😔. And the cooking that I learned from them I see you doing. How about smoking pig belly for bacon and smoking a ham, and really on how to cureing the pig first... Sure would like to learn how you do it ?
Pitmaster, if I smoke a turkey vertical, is there any advantage to hanging upside down? Will this keep breast from drying out, or is that something I don't need to be concerned with? Thanks, Happy Sunday!!
I love how you cook, diverse, not complicated and flavorful. Always something special about that thigh meat❤
I appreciate that! Thank you.
❤the turkey looked amazing. I’d have to skip the beans and pickled onions. Once again I’m so glad you and yours survived the storms. God bless you
Thank you Jennifer.
Looks great man! Thanks for sharing. Definitely some ideas for turkey day.
Any time! Thank you!

Thank you, the asado grilling is on the way things are still a bit crazy after the storm.
Another great recipe, I appreciate how you know and incorporate all these different flavors and cuisines. Who would think turkey and banana? Fantastic
Thank you so much and glad you liked it.

Hello my dear, so happy to hear from you as always. Thank you I may have to try the grilled banana. I hope you had a great week.
@@bbqsouthernstyle Sure did…hope you had a great week, as well.
Glad you had a nice week. I'm dealing with roofers smh be so glad when it's over lol.

The good old day!!!!! Amen too that.
For me, a white meat, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy were the best next day after Thanksgiving treat. But everything that you do looks amazing.
That looks really good! Id make a mess cutting that turkey I dont like dealing with bones..I know I know flavor..Turkey breast is more my speed. Thank you for sharing these! Great ideas! 😋
Thank you very much.

I do that too with harder veg. I do love a crisp onion over that you don't
get boiled

Its the pit barrel cooker
Great looking meal. Why distilled water in the beans?
Thank you. The distilled water only went into the onions. Chemical free well water in my beans.
@bbqsouthernstyle thankyou for your response. Will be trying this recipe out especially the bananas. Never seen that done before.
