SVB is a threat to win any tournament of any discipline. Danny Smith is well known as an aggressive and imaginative competitor who likes the action, especially one-pocket. He should just shut up. His comments are just plain stupid.

@@billgyrotech I've seen him do commentary when he was a bit younger, and he displayed good knowledge of the game, but had a mildly annoying style.
Now that he is older and knows EVERYTHING, he is insufferable.

In this match he is using a borrowed cue because his cue case was sent to the wrong city by the airline. Lost luggage. Lol

JJ is the best commentator; Bill loves the sound of his voice too much.

Imagine a pool league where safety play was penalized or frowned upon. The safety play in my opinion is the coward's way to play. If you good, show it. This would improve the game IN MY OPINION! Of course the game count would have to go way up. Like a race to 20 (9-Ball) I'm an old man now but I couldn't stand playing league because of the constant safety play. While growing up and learning, safety play (obvious purposeful misses) caused fist fights.

Back in the 60's I understand that NFL teams never drafted defensive players. They drafted offense. Those that didn't make first team offense were put on the other side of the line to play defense. Then the Rams came along with the Fearsome Foursome defensive line and the League woke up to the importance of defense. I'm not saying you're not entitled to your opinion, but if you refuse to recognize that it is just as important to keep your opponent from scoring as it is to score yourself, you will never be as good as you could be.
If you just enjoy shooting prowess, I guess maybe you would enjoy trick shots and exhibitions more than actual game-play. Pool is a mental game as much as a physical one- maybe more so. I have to wonder if the fist fights over safety play in your younger days was because proper rules were not used (such as "you must drive a ball to a rail" or "ball-in-hand-fouls") so players without a good shot were just pushing the cue ball wherever they wanted, without hitting a legal ball? The idea of playing a "Gentlemen's game" falls apart quickly when there is money on the line and the players never agreed to a well defined set of rules. I hope you will come to appreciate the brilliance of top level safety play, because it brings with it the next-level of brilliance, which is the ability to kick AND get safe when you are snookered.
And by the way- JUMP CUES ARE AN ABOMINATION AND SHOULD ALL BE BURNED
