Like JJ's insights. How quickly he assesses the lay of the table. Still, miss hearing Danny D. and Billy I.

Hard to believe Skyler missed that last ball @ 28:46 after that great run up to it...frustrating, that is pool.

@@chriscripplercruz1833 Yupper. Happens frequently, from personal experience and observations I've made of others. My only guess is 'you' let down a bit in concentration right after the difficult completed execution (alright now it's all downhill, I got this!) and don't give the next 'easy' shot the respect and concentration it deserves... damned emotions.
Either that or it's just a normal miss, and we give it more weight or significance because of the sequential situation, and think it significant when it really isn't. :-)
One of my worst problems is focusing on one part or another of the shot and getting ONE of them right...good shot, lousy placement, or vise versa. So I can usually manage to do it on the SAME shot. Pool is HARD, ridiculously easy-peasy to learn, very very difficult to get very good at, million things to know, million things to have to be able to execute. I guess that is why it keeps our attention for so long, that and it is fun.
For anyone just starting out that thinks I am overstating the last part, spend about a continuous week looking over the information on just ONE good pool channel, like say Dr Dave's, and then get a good pool shot book like Robert Byrne's (both HIGHLY recommended) and then realize all of that is just the tip of the iceberg. All the 'real' stuff has to be learned at the table against many many other opponents. Cool game, can be frustration personified, at times. Most times, a load of fun.
Then start in on the MENTAL part! Cheers, and wishing you excellent play in all coming matches and practices. If only ...

At 7:53 it sure looks like Danny has the rack way up past the spot doesn't it?
