If peak power is your thing while torque isn't, then the 765 might be your bag. The extra 183cc and extra cylinder makes for a smooth and strong torque engine.
Yes agree with you on that one having said that the Z900SE looks very similar to the Z1000 which I do see a few in Lanzarote and very similar design and colour scheme to the bike in your video but the question is for you what is the difference between them in engine power and weight of the bike
Great motorcycle. Our company has a motorcycle stereo with compass, barometer and dual bluetooth. Looking forward to working with you. How can I contact you?😊
I have to smile when bike testers say a bike has minimal electronics. All modern bikes which have fuel injection and electronic ignition now incorporates "can bus" technology which relies on a multitude of sensors and microprocessors. If your bike has a diagnostic port, it's probably more "electronic" than your laptop.
Mine was black and red. The bike was terrific. I sold it because of the seat. No movement was allowed so you're stuck in the one spot and my ass got sore. I could only last an hour. So if you are 183cm and 110 kg look for another bike.
@nc3990 I did try the Kawasaki comfort seat which is now standard on the Z900 and still gave me bum ache. Had my old seat reformed and new foam added by a professional but still bum ache. I guess the ergonomics did not suit. It may be OK for you. Test ride one for an hour to find out. I know shorter riders have no problems.
TL;DR: This bike can't be ever be A2 compliant. It can't be "power restricted" to ever be A2 compliant, since part of that license class says: "not exceeding 35kW (47 hp)" and crucially for this case: "not derived from a vehicle of more than double its power" AND in its unrestricted state it exceeds the power/weight ratio limit of 0.2 kW/kg by being more than double that at 0.43 kW/kg.
Been watching this bike and the z1000 that are sold in Australia , the z900 is about $4000 cheaper and sells for about $15000. Would have loved a black all over colour , not a grey , just black everything , have seen used older model , and every bit of the bike had been given the black treatment , Did you have preload setting too soft ? Do you think the riding position could be coped with by a 59 year old , who is used to luxuriating in the comfort of the Versys 650. Have you ridden the Z1000? Would you prefer this over a Ninja SX 1000 if you were doing 6 hr leisure rides with a mix of mountainous pot holed Back roads , motorways and 5% traffic areas just , mainly day trips. Can you fit a screen ? Cheers for your video , I am a subscriber , you are one of my favourite reviewers .
Ninja SX1000 if you're planning to do long days, the Ninja will do everything the Z900 can do but it is more comfortable and has way more new tech. Wait a few months and the new Ninja SX1100 should be out according to the rumour mill. I test rode the Z900, Z1000 and the SX but ended up buying the Z900RS due to the looks. It still looks great but it was a mistake in with regards to performance, I should've bought the Ninja.
@@jimmymc10021 Yes the Z900RS looks very classic and fun. Sat on a Z 900, 1000, and the ninja SX1000, then today sat on a Versys 1000 costs $23000 ride away , but that felt amazing ergonomically as does the Versys 650 , but the 1000 in person looks and feels premium. Think I am being GAS driven , in regard to your RS not having thec performance of the other bikes , today it was a windy rainy day on the Gold Coast , rode on the Advance Town to Beechmont and Canungra mountain road , and back detouring via Springbrook road ( mountain rd ). My bike was the Honda Transalp 92 HP and goes like the clappers in Sports mode . Rode it today entirely in Rain mode with traction control on maximum, enjoyed it immensely , 30 per cent effective power reduction , but I actually was way smoother and faster through the corners.( thanks also to Moto Jitsu channel video ), so I am not sure why I want a 1000 , or a Versys 1000 or a Z900. Today I didn’t see another single motorcycle on my day trip, so many buy bikes and don’t use them unless everything is perfect. Don’t think the perfect bike exists , I have the Transalp and the Versys 650 bloody both great bikes , yet looking for the next bike 🧐
So what you’re saying, Dan is that you have to be like Borat to ride it any distance lol that engines sounds smooth She’s a lovely colour just can’t get past the look hmmmm👍
Rode my 2022 Z900 back to back with a 2024 XSR900 last week. The Z900 is faster top speed and accelerates quicker, it feels like it has more power everywhere in the rpm range, more so in the low end of the range, the CP3 triple has a surprisingly strong top end, fairly similar to the Z900. Albeit it’s not a ton faster, they’re pretty close. But the Z900 edges it out a little… below 5000/6000 rpm the Z900 has loads more torque then the MT09/XSR900, that was the biggest difference. In 60-120 mph pulls the Z900 chugged ahead every time, even after we swapped bikes. The Z900 also handles a bit better despite weighing more, and the Z900 has more tucked, cramped ergonomics. If you’re a larger rider past like 6’3” you may find the Z900 a little cramped. For my average 6’ frame it’s fine. The pegs are significantly higher and more rear set. The bars are closer to the rider but feel lower, the Z900’s front end feels a lot shorter and has a lot more feel which adds to confidence in the corners…
The bike is stunning to look at and would be a bigger player in the market if it had a shifter and bllipper and just imagine the noise it would make 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Rode my 2022 Z900 back to back with a 2024 XSR900 last week. The XSR is better for cruising, the ergonomics are more laid back. The Z900 is a bit more aggressive and cramped, the Z900 also has a little more power everywhere in the rpm range. Depends your riding style. For charging corners, despite being heavier, the Z900 feels better and more confidence inspiring. Both bikes will lift the front wheel in gears 1-3 without any issue on power alone…

Maybe if there's a blue color variant in 2025 I'll regret my choice of getting an older one, but I honestly don't mind the relatively small display. And it already has a nice QuickShifter and cruise control so I think I'm glad I bought it :)
I dont understand why you'd go for this over a Hornet or GSX-8X. While both are down a little bit on power both have more tech, good bit cheaper, nicer dashes and are more modern. Or a MT-09 if you want something even closer on power.
Looks maybe? It all depends on what people like the look of. The Honda or the Suzuki may be a better deal on paper, but if someone doesn't like the look of them they're not going to buy one.
@@Snotroggel453I'm 6'3" and don't find the Hornet cramped. And the 160 tyre really doesn't bother me, it's a non-issue. I love my Hornet, such a good bike at such a good price, the engine is a lot of fun.
I really wanted to like that motorcycle especially for its price point but it can’t compare to a CB. The fit and finish of that motorcycle is nowhere near Honda quality. There is a reason a 3 year old used Honda costs the same as a brand new z900
@@Englishbikerdan With respect. You're reviewing the bike. Why is it important? Suspension is kind of important. It defines the ride. The make of the suspension is very important. Is it reliable? @@somatykz900 is literally unbreakable, a guy on youtube has a z900 with 100.000km and still pulls hard. The forks are very decent on the standard model, not too hard and not too soft. I ride mine for 4 years now and never had even a single wobble or a feeling of unstableness.
You need to put an aftermarket exhaust on it (full system) then it will open up. The z900 has 2 catalytic converters and a huge bread box. I said the same when i bought mine, until i put a full exhaust on.

@@Alex-if3sr it is aggressive for a naked bike. The pegs are quite high and back and the bars are pretty low. I personally like that though, and the fact that you feel like you’re in the bike. Very confidence inspiring in the corners. The engine is also buttery smooth, it’s faster than it feels. I did ride a 2024 XSR900 against my 2022 Z900 last week, the XSR feels lighter and more agile but the Z900 feels a lot more confidence inspiring on the corners, it tips in better and is a lot more stable. The front end feel is also very good for a naked bike, not far off from the likes of a GSXR 600. I had one of those as a loaner for a week last year and loved that too. The CB1000 has a peaky power band due to emissions neutering its mid range, if you look at before/after tuned dyno charts it’s a crazy difference. The Z900 has a flat torque curve and a very linear power curve, gives it that smooth characteristic. My buddy and I did some roll races on the Z900 and his XSR, and the Z900 pulled even after we switched riders. It’s a pretty quick bike…

Love the video. Couldn't care less about the spec, just want to know it i changes your mood when you wring its neck.
What’s the pick between 765 r and z 900
If peak power is your thing while torque isn't, then the 765 might be your bag. The extra 183cc and extra cylinder makes for a smooth and strong torque engine.
Nice review! Kawasaki really need a new design team as their recent bikes are awful 😣
Very good video English biker Dan the only thing is that I don’t like the looks of the bike but I consider buying a Suzuki
Fair enough, maybe consider the Z900 RS? More of a classic look.
How can I contact you?😊
A2 is 47bhp and below
How's it to the mt09 you rode?
Very different, I do explain in the vid.
But you know what I'm getting at. Tech that the rider can fiddle with like the Mt09.
@@Englishbikerdan Yes, I understand. You still produce excellent reviews though.
Mine was black and red. The bike was terrific. I sold it because of the seat. No movement was allowed so you're stuck in the one spot and my ass got sore. I could only last an hour. So if you are 183cm and 110 kg look for another bike.
I’m interested in buying one and the same height as you. Do you think changing the seat would have helped? I heard the stock seat is quite hard.
@ thanks for the info
TL;DR: This bike can't be ever be A2 compliant.
It can't be "power restricted" to ever be A2 compliant, since part of that license class says: "not exceeding 35kW (47 hp)" and crucially for this case: "not derived from a vehicle of more than double its power" AND in its unrestricted state it exceeds the power/weight ratio limit of 0.2 kW/kg by being more than double that at 0.43 kW/kg.
Someone found Google. 😂
There is a 95PS A2 compliant version?
Been watching this bike and the z1000 that are sold in Australia , the z900 is about $4000 cheaper and sells for about $15000.
Would have loved a black all over colour , not a grey , just black everything , have seen used older model , and every bit of the bike had been given the black treatment ,
Did you have preload setting too soft ?
Do you think the riding position could be coped with by a 59 year old , who is used to luxuriating in the comfort of the Versys 650.
Have you ridden the Z1000?
Would you prefer this over a Ninja SX 1000 if you were doing 6 hr leisure rides with a mix of mountainous pot holed Back roads , motorways and 5% traffic areas just , mainly day trips.
Can you fit a screen ?
Cheers for your video , I am a subscriber , you are one of my favourite reviewers .
Waaaait a minute, are they still selling the Z1000 in Australia....😱
Yes …brand new with the non TFT screen .
@@SomewhereInside . I think Kawasaki discontinued that model all over the world 10 years ago.
I like this! :D
Quick yes fast ehh but you really do have to watch the speed... I've been warned already 😊
Yep, spins up quick!!
They need to scrap this Z900 and bring back the Zx9R
Nope. Just bring back the ZX9 R with this motor. But keep this naked version . It just needs an update.
Maybe when the R9 appears Kwak may feel the need to. Here's hoping!
I agree, with ergonomics more like the ZX4RR, a more streetable sport bike…
Dameon Ranch
Kawasaki definitely dropped the ball not having a quick shifter on this bike, deal breaker for me.
You can get an aftermarket one, just no blipper. Booo!
Condemned by faint praise 😁
Huh?
@@EnglishbikerdanI mean the bike and the review. That's how I interpreted it. Nothing wrong with the bike but its not setting the world on fire.
Which one is faster? Z900 or MT 09.
Shame there's no shifter and blipper
The bike is stunning to look at and would be a bigger player in the market if it had a shifter and bllipper and just imagine the noise it would make 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Yeah, hopefully an update soon.
@@Englishbikerdan they are stunning to look at
Auto blipper means ride by wire. The cable throttle feels 10x better then any ride by wire system…
£1000 for the rear can, ridiculous.
Yamaha XSR 900 for me thank you
Me too...waiting for the updated version.
I just bought one a week ago 🤩
Rode my 2022 Z900 back to back with a 2024 XSR900 last week. The XSR is better for cruising, the ergonomics are more laid back. The Z900 is a bit more aggressive and cramped, the Z900 also has a little more power everywhere in the rpm range. Depends your riding style. For charging corners, despite being heavier, the Z900 feels better and more confidence inspiring. Both bikes will lift the front wheel in gears 1-3 without any issue on power alone…
I almsot booked this bike, it was toooo smooth and kinda felt boring...
A full exhaust total changes that
Put CS Racing exhaust on my 2023 Z900 SE. No tune, dB Killer in. Much more fun now.@stephenclarke6114
Get a XSR900 💙🤗
@@Pfannkuchenkanone .They don't sell them here in India..🥺
But now I'm in a different place where they sell the XSR...probably gonna get one as soon as I get my driver's license here..😍
@@abymathew295 oh well that's a shame...but I'm happy you are now able to get your hands on one of them😃. I mean it makes sense to wait for the 2025 update. I didn't wait, but I also didn't buy my XSR900 new. It had 1500km on it and I was offered a very very good deal so I went ahead and bought it.
It’s an in-line 4 is probably the reason why.
@@Snotroggel453 160 tyre, what were Honda thinking off.
Looks maybe? It all depends on what people like the look of. The Honda or the Suzuki may be a better deal on paper, but if someone doesn't like the look of them they're not going to buy one.
It's all about the IL4 engine.
Interesting, I've not seen much difference in terms of build quality between the two brands.
Kawasaki need to play catch- up
In what way? Even more tech to pamper and mollycoddle a rider with?
I just couldn’t live with the looks ! A lot to insectoide for me 😂
A nose only a mother could love😂
Oi! Oh the bike! :D
Dude. You're reviewing the bike. Maybe give us the fork details? It's kind of your job😂
Why is that important? Kawasaki don't advertise who makes them so 🤷♂️
@@Englishbikerdan With respect. You're reviewing the bike. Why is it important? Suspension is kind of important. It defines the ride. The make of the suspension is very important. Is it reliable? Do they have a good record? I'm not being salty mate. I just want due diligence on something that I may be buying.
@@somatykit’s either KYB or Showa, why does it matter? Both make fine suspension…
@@somatykz900 is literally unbreakable, a guy on youtube has a z900 with 100.000km and still pulls hard. The forks are very decent on the standard model, not too hard and not too soft. I ride mine for 4 years now and never had even a single wobble or a feeling of unstableness.
Never liked it I found it a bit bland
You need to put an aftermarket exhaust on it (full system) then it will open up. The z900 has 2 catalytic converters and a huge bread box. I said the same when i bought mine, until i put a full exhaust on.
@@Snotroggel453dont know where you live but full system is impossible nowadays where i live
I had the 2022 z900 and for me it was an awful bike. Didn't like the riding position, the engine felt strange like it was always struggling. The seats were like bricks and have my ass a rash after each ride.
What was wrong with the riding position? Also since when does it feel like it’s struggling? The bike has a ton of power…
@@sleeper.simulant7327 I had the cb1000r before that and I'm comparing it to that. It wasn't struggling as in lack of power more like I had to go to higher rpm to feel the bike going. It's hard to explain. And the position was to far forward more like a sports bike than a named bike. Again comparing to my cb1000r and the current cb650r
WHAT ? really ?? - NO cruise control ??!! ⁉⁉😱😱😱😱 The F....K is this ????!!!!!
I've never really felt the need for that on a naked bike.
