i cried so much. my dad has just passed away very unexpectedly a couple weeks prior to this show coming out and he was very much like devi’s dad and my mom is very much like her mom.

this is the only scene i've seen from this show (from the 'very much' video) but i'll say the way the father talks to his daughter about her troubles whilst incorporating his investment in the tennis is done very well. i can understand his character completely just from this one scene and get a pretty good idea of their relationship.
EDIT: I binged the whole series the next day and loved it. Was not expecting THAT to happen. Definitely changed how I view their relationship. Can’t wait for more!

I wish I had a kind loving parent as this ...my dad nor my mother knew my path ...they were living in own way ...but never liked this ...I was leaving for Army and Dad finally kiss me goodbye ...floored me he never kissed that I remember ...better late than never ...we made plans to travel ...but he passed over before that happened !!! I Loved Him ❤️ and Him !!! And mom that's another story ...Great story I will have to start watching now !!! Good Show !!!

Fun fact here the dad being in an English speaking country is using Indian accent. While back in India in a movie Shor In the city he uses English just like any English person. ☺

This show really should've a trigger warning about this. I didn't knew that this show contains her father's death and her suffering related to it. I started watching it and then couldn't stop myself from completing it because it's too good. But a warning would've definitely helped.

Today suddenly I discovered that Devi’s father has acted in a Bollywood movie.
Many of you(my Indian folks)must know the song “Saibo” by Shreya Ghoshal(which is one of my very favorite songs among other songs by Shreya and Its always in my playlist), he is there in the music video. That’s why I always used to think that I have seen him before.
