Just dropped 6k for preventative maintenance on my '13 S5. Gotta take good care of my vehicles so they take good care of me. For the chain rattle on cold starts, install oil check valves to keep all the oil from draining back into the oil pan when the car is off and sitting. I had some chain rattle on startups and after doing this, I have no rattle at all.
Aye good to hear. What all did you put 6k into? Also thanks for letting be know about the oil check valves... i have not heard of that but will look into it!
@toosloh My car just hit 88k miles so I went ahead and did the following. It was 6k with labor. All the genuine Audi parts ran around 3k then all the labor 3k. And that's at an independent Audi shop. I would imagine all that at the dealer would be easily double the price. - PCV Valve - PCV Valve Breather Hose & Connector - Coolant Crossover Pipe - Upper Intake Manifold Gaskets - Lower Intake Manifold Gaskets - All Control Arms - Valve Cover Gaskets - Water Pump - Water Pump Pulley - Thermostat - Spark Plugs - All Fuel Injector O Rings Kits - The oil pressure check valves - Supercharger Bleeder Screws - Engine Oil Filter Housing - Coolant Reservoir Cap O Ring - 4 Wheel Alignment After Control Arms
@toosloh Feels like I'm driving a new car after just 6k put in. The new control arm kit made a giant difference in ride quality. Also feels like it is quicker (probably just in my head lol)
Agreed but im not worried about it yet. It's a small rattle on start up which is likely just the tensioners. Ill probably do the whole timing chain system at 100k miles
I enjoy the vid. I just bought my wife a a7. An absolutely amazing car. Looking back im not sure why i never really gave audi a chance. I agree with the ac. I live in the desert and it could definitely be better. Lol interested in more content man! Love the car
That's a good ass husband right there haha! I have been driving Audi since 2017 and will never leave it. Just a classy sports car man. The AC needs some serious work though lol. Thanks for watching and be ready for more content :)
@@tooslohthe b9 a/c is CRAZY tbh. my 2019 s4 blows air like no other car. i thought my buddies a/c was broken in his challenger because of how powerful mine is.
Of course, thanks for watching! Personally id go for a b8.5 cause it looks a little better imo. The water pump / thermostat is another common issue on every VW/Audi so check for records on that. When you start any s4 you are going to test drive listen for that rattle sound on start up. If it lasts longer than a few seconds move to the next one because it's going to be a big cost. Other than, invest in an obdeleven. It's like a $60 obd2 scanner that you can scan the sellers audi with and know right there if any faults are there. Lmk if any other questions brotha
@@toosloh preciate it brotha, looking at one w 100k but idk i would much rather have something with a little less miles but they harder to find and more expensive
No fuel pump problem, I did have to do sparks and coils though. I had an issue where my car wouldn't go over a couple thousand RPM and felt like it had no power.
@ yea sucks mine is straight up blowing pure white smoke out the exhaust only thing I did was on my break at work was push my ignition coils down more it wasn’t much shaking but it drove smooth with the check engine light on just got it fixed 1 week ago
@@PlugChapo Personally, id just take it to autozone first and ask to use their OBD reader cause its free. They will give you the results and tell you what codes are thrown. Then use www.audizine.com/ to find the code and see what other people experienced
Really trying to grow this channel and make content all around cars / life. Would mean the world if you dropped a like an sub to help me reach 💯 subs!
