Got it again! And on a higher belt! I don't think anyone does this one at my gym. So I got the arm in that laces the thighs from under the diagonal knee cut, as usual, cupped the upper top thigh. Right there it occurred to me that NOW I gotta seat belt with the other arm then back bridge some. DID IT. 2nd time ever in it. 1st was sloppy and maybe a fluke. This time I felt the power of the position as I'd just miraculously took my opponent from a dominant knee cut to in my arms like a baby, shortly the shock subsided and I rocked both ways expecting one to work and it did! I wanted to celebrate but no one was watching and I had to then hold him under my side mount. Thanks coach! It's officially programmed in to my repertoire. I'll hook you up via patreon. Getting new moves we don't typically practice will greatly benefit my game.
I love how you break down the details of what you are doing! I have been watching you since i was a white belt and i caught someone in a baratoplata as a white belt because of your video. Now I am a blue belt and plan on continuing the long jiu jitsu journey and continuing to watch your channel.
I DID ONE! Takes me like watching a vid 20 times before it actually manifests live but I got it off a white belt. Shh. Don't tell them that's what they're for. Anyway thanks so much coach!
I have taught this technique in my No-Gi classes for a while now and one of the blue belts I teach has hit this on 2 blackbelts and numerous coloured belts, 100% legit technique, I've hit it on other blackbelts and my own professor who is 2nd degree.
As a blue belt this is the only sweep that truly catches upper belts off guard. I get it from everywhere, even when I’m about to get Uchi Mata’d I can usually drop down and shoot my arm between the legs and get the takedown off a sloppy body lock or double leg
Had a chance to try this out for the first time to ight against a larger, stronger and more experienced opponent with the escape from technical mount variation. He was too quick and explosive to hang on to, but this is the last of the major positions I need to build a solid escape for and it worked pretty well. The escape itself worked well and once my head popped out, I was totally sitting pretty.
Thank you! Really... thank you. This channel improved my game drastically in just a few days. You are a great coach. Please keep doing what you’re doing. I would like to see more of your open guard technique, that other video with simple entry to Omo is sweet.
Amazing content! It's like we've discovered cheat codes. Please, please, please cover the basics like escaping mount, guard, triangle, armbar etc. All of this is very advanced for some of us.
Yes I will all in due time. I show a lot of advanced because it’s things very few or nobody knows. There is so many basics already on UA-cam, my channel was started to show everyone the things I have that most others don’t. I will show basics as well soon! Thank you!
TeachMeGrappling Coach Brian Yeah, very smart on your behalf. I'm aware there are a lot of videos already on the basics, but they are not from you. They lack your ability to explain things. You are an amazing teacher and I love the details you go into with each video. Thank you for doing this.
Great channel! Is there any other way to purchase rash guard as opposed to through patreon? Not a fan of patreon personally. As a business strategy you might find that taking the time to package and sell a few of these like your "guard attack series" etc. Over time makes you more money. And I don't know if you have a Shopify store or some place where people can purchase your rash guards, t shirts etc. ? Thank you. And again I really like your channel..I am subscribed to many BJJ and similar vibe channels and yours is right up there as a favorite!
Man I used this technique a lot , but even with out connecting your hands you can still go for the " dog fight" and sweep ( like the regular half guard sweep with the underhook ) if the guy give me a good overhook and strong pressure I switch back to your main sweep and roll him over me thanks for the details , it will improve my game for sure but ... some part of me hates you because now you revealed this incredible technique ( I learn this technique while watching dean lister use is it in a grappling match )
Any other names for this sweep, I'd like to see some live roll footage of it being used. Off the top of my head I can only remember seeing Bucheca using it I think.Any suggestions?
None that I know of. I do it so much with so many entries and variations, I had to name it for my own academy. I will be showing it on future narrated rolls. Check out the one I just dropped on my channel.
I couldn't make it work and I got caught with a Kimura, but just watching you again, maybe I didn't spin my body around far enough. Other guys were trying to lapel strangle me. Will it still work in a Gi?
Yes I don’t train in the gi much at all anymore but the last time I did, I used it very effectively. I make my plays quickly not giving my opponent much time for anything. I also know exactly how they will move before they do so I’m more ready.
Wow I have been using your ghost escape videos and I darced a black belt last night I’m a two stripe blue. Maybe he let me, either way you have some really awesome details and techniques. I want to learn to wrestle. Our school has a pure wrestling class but I weigh 240 and it’s just a lot harder than jiu jitsu. Do you have any suggestions on learning wrestling? Should I just learn to double, single etc..... or does it pAy to learn more?
It pays to learn more if you have good coaches. The problem a lot of times is the way wrestling is taught. (Very aggressive) It can be taught with a BJJ style but it’s just not the way most do it here in America. I would suggest talking to the coach and letting them know you would like to participate at your own pace. 🤷♂️
So i tried to hit this sweep on my coach. He is about 130lbs heavier than I am and I very nearly got him. He posted his arm back and before I could counter that he wristlocked my wrist that was on his thigh. Im not sure if this is a legitimate threat or if he was just able to use his strength advantage to do something most others probably couldn't as no one else has wristlocked me from there. Any advice?
Yes the wrist lock is something I’m very aware of when it’s attempted and I tend to look for the wrist lock as well when I’m in your coach’s position. If you sit in a position and lose the tempo, be prepared to be attacked. You need to refine your technique in order to keep moving. Having said that, 130lbs is quite significant and most likely failure will come quite often. Just do the best you can.
You post, I watch, I save, I practice.
Life is good.
I pulled it off tonight. Thanks coach Brian. The partner passed my half guard , I made my first wedding sweep🎉
Caught my trainer with this! He loved it.

I have used this sweep from Halfguard for years, but this series opens up so many more options for it. Great job.
Your teaching style is superexcellent. Thank you !
absolute gold. Glad I found you coach.
Love this sweep! Getting mounted and arm barred while testing it, but working the kinks out. Thanks coach!

100% correct Coach in this position an Uchi Mata would take you over and we do train in this low position just for that.
Thank you! Really... thank you. This channel improved my game drastically in just a few days. You are a great coach. Please keep doing what you’re doing. I would like to see more of your open guard technique, that other video with simple entry to Omo is sweet.
Thank you!!! You're moves and instruction are excellent!
Looking forward to the continuation of this!
This is crazy cool
I will try it tonight

can you do separate videos on the Billy guard, the water boy necktie, the Happy shime waza, in depth if you don't mind
HahahahaHahahaha ... 🤣
Nice one
Damn...you are on another level! Great material... Thank you 👊
Hey coach Brian, would this technique work on animal... say a moose?
🤣
Eric T
Your not planning on doing anything illegal are you?
Heck yeah it will!!!
Maybe in Massachusetts.
4:09 Can the guy on top, jump to triangle from there ? Punching your arm through and him grabbing that arm gives me the impression he can.

Sweet
Thank you to for all the techniques and all the hlep i see you more than my coach xD
Dude, you're on a different level. I need training partners.
Epic!
Do you use this for submission grappling or MMA? Great Series Coach!!!
Definitely not for MMA but if you develop it enough, there is always a time and place if you have skill.
Awesome stuff sir! Greatly appreciate you sharing these techniques!

👍👍👍
That's some good shit.
Thought that second variant was gonna turn into a plan b/twistback sweep
Yeah I do that a lot and when it’s defended with base, I apply the wedding sweep.
Could lockdown the leg for a stoner control before getting the sweep?
Yes!!! Ding ding ding!!! That’s definitely a part of the series!
PS one more thing in this video u remind me of happy Gilmore lol
Coach please be careful of this students wedding tackle bro ur hands were stroking his thighs lol
You should call that the donkey dong
way to much info at once
please don't wear ufc.rebook clothing . please. they are the enemy
Lol... why do you say that?
