What I love is that he's probably played this song hundreds of times, but he's still exploring it. Just playing for the hell of it and allowing some room for error. Good things come out of music like that. The Grateful Dead would be a perfect example.
what everyone now calls "the crimson ghost" (which is where danzig got it) was called the "fiend" back then by the band. but the logo that say MISFITS and is still used today was drawn by danzig.
Reality, if you mean what I think you mean its because this was originally a song recorded with the Misfits, the others were recorded with other Michale Graves projects like Graves/GothamRoad/ and in collaboration with Damien Echols
Logo is from The Grimson Ghost like you said and name comes from Marilyn Monroes last film like you said. Danzig wrote most of his songs using old horror movies
I tell ya what, as far as the misfits being a "tribute" band these days, i almost have to agree! I saw them a couple of years ago (Jerry, Dez, Robo) & they were great but then i saw Danzig with Doyle a few months later & seeing Glenn singing Astro Zombies, Earth A.D. etc... with Doyle standing next to him playing the songs with him made Jerry & co seem like a cover band! Even though Robo played on Earth AD!
Wow. He dropped the "I'm comin' clean for Amy -- Julie doesn't scream as well, and the cops won't listen all night." My sister was friends with Tank (sort of the merchandise dude for the 'fits, at least then) around when this song came out, so we actually got to go to shows frequently and even talk to Mr. Graves on occaision. He told us that he wrote this song when his *dog died*. D:
Danzig is awesome yeah, and graves too! they lost one gd singer, and then they lost graves too... sadly i dnt think theyl be the same again! But this vid is awesome, i never get tired of listening to this song!!!
For the folks asking for tabs over a UA-cam comment......come on now!! Google is your friend, you can find practically any tabs for almost every song imaginable within 15 seconds. Not tryin to be a dick, just some advice that can make your life much easier. Good luck
Hooked on horror from a young age, after discovering music properly and embracing my love and fear in the morbid (breaking my fair share of corpse's I might add ;) ) and all things metal ofc. the misfits filled a childhood melodic teenage rebelious unique hole that no one of us could comprehend. From then on nights out, this is our anthem, in any way shape or form we can move by the time we're out, and always will be our salute to the ever mighty fiend club
the band doesn't need to continue. they broke up in the early 80's, and using the same name and look doesn't mean the band continues. this is a misfits tribute band now who also happen to release some of their own original material.
I love his stomping thing at the end where he slips a bit. But that's okay, Graves is awesome. :D And the guy in the background is funny, especially after that chick ditches him.
Glen Danzig and Michael Graves were both amazing front men in their own way. They both brought something different to the table. Some things Graves did better, some things Danzig did better. I'm a fan of the original Misfits, but I really do love Grave's work. It's impossible to pick a favorite for me. It's just sad that Michael Graves isn't as well known as he should be. He's amazing.
graves added some beautiful mystique to the group, doesnt mean that Misfits didnt have it all these years to begin with. He just addapted to the beauty thats Misfits and brought some new energy, melody as well, and did a good job replacing ol Glenn.
Its sad to see this, going from being the largest horror punk band in the world, and playing at huge venues with sold out shows; and now he's playing at book stores.
First off he shouldn't be in a mainstream store, but yeah, even I would go in a shopping mall if I knew Graves would be there. His guitar is definately messed up though.
@xalexislegendx i actually think jerry is better than both graves and danzig. i see them every year at starland ballroom in nj. i like both graves and danzig, dont get me wrong. but i like jerrys versions of their songs so much better, and jerrys origonals, although there are few so far, are awesome
@ScumJunkie and @bloodofthesacred If you look for the Dig Up Her Bones song from this session he says it has 4. It is possible he has 6 at this point and two broke..... but... who knows?! Someone on here must have been there!
Can we all just agree that the misfits are the greatest and true fans will love them no matter who sings for them?
This is amazing.
What I love is that he's probably played this song hundreds of times, but he's still exploring it. Just playing for the hell of it and allowing some room for error. Good things come out of music like that. The Grateful Dead would be a perfect example.
I sang along with the whole thing.
How can you not love this song?
my fav song of misfits!! thank's a lot michale for this great song! you're the best!!
Wow! One if not my most favourite Misfits song!
no matter what, both of them are great singers...and the band will always be one of my favourite band all the time no matter who's the singer...
famouse monsters was my favorite and first album of the misfits that i own sure jerry and glenn are awsome but graves was special in his own way
Graves is god !!!

I TOTALLY AGREE. That was the best comment on youtube, congrats.
And sure, I love Graves, but there's something special about Danzig..
Michale Graves belongs definitely to the top 10 best singers ever dot
its actually a book store. he was signing copies of his book that day so he brought his guitar along too to play for the fans.
Folk and punk are already so similar, this is basically a punk singer doing a folk rendition of his own song. Awesome.
Awesome Video.....
I my opinion Michael has an amazing voice he brought so much to this band and helped make it what it is today!!!MISFITS FOREVER!!!
dude awsome yo !!!!! frickin awsome
what everyone now calls "the crimson ghost" (which is where danzig got it) was called the "fiend" back then by the band.
but the logo that say MISFITS and is still used today was drawn by danzig.

Jerry only is a legend and a hero and whether you like it or not he was a part of a band who reloutionised music and has influenced many major bands!
Reality, if you mean what I think you mean its because this was originally a song recorded with the Misfits, the others were recorded with other Michale Graves projects like Graves/GothamRoad/ and in collaboration with Damien Echols
his vocals are amazing.
nice video clip
awesome man!! :D
Then we're two, I love the song, and his woice is AMAZING! :D

because punk is underground and he is one of the best underground singers of all time
luv mike... awesome

@xalexislegendx actually there are 2 new songs. there is Lamd Of The Dead, and Twilight Of The Dead. both of which i like alot

Hermoso Hermoso, la nostalgia no solo me afecta a mi, i was tinkin about you n_n...
I'm not a big fan of any post Danzig Misfits but I would love to have this particular song on mp3.
look at him, rocking out towards the end!
the band doesn't need to continue. they broke up in the early 80's, and using the same name and look doesn't mean the band continues. this is a misfits tribute band now who also happen to release some of their own original material.

Oh, Love this song! Graves is so fucking cool....
I think he is awsome and I really like his "lazy" voice specially live. I am not teeny boppers ;p
at 0:44 the scream thing or whatever it was in the back sounds like its suppose to go with the song!!!! its so cool
f***n get a band. i hate to see such talent singing in the bookstores

i love the end! hehe 3:35.
hi larious
Ahah!
I love when he hits the floor with his foots at the end!!! XD
Sick song great acoustic version. I wish I could do that. I would probably have a nice wife kids and home if I could sing like that.
For some reason it seems like he's fighting playing the guitar?? Still the man and gave me some good memories at shows.
@Gravemind106
He has a band its called Gotham Rd.
yeah! misfits rules
Graves is fucking awesome
Its sad to see this, going from being the largest horror punk band in the world, and playing at huge venues with sold out shows; and now he's playing at book stores.
It's an undercut shaved on sides and long on top. It probably has some gel or something making the strands hold together some what.
GRAVES ROCKS!!!
Famous Monsters and Michale solo only-the only way this song works out!
It's actually from the movie the Crimson Ghost.
I love that girls laugh at the end.
yup he is.
i think there should be a 90s misfits reunion. doyle, chud, jerry, and michale. that'd be so badass.
in love
I like michael Graves but no one ..no one even compares to the original! ..danzig wrote and sang some of the best Misfits tunes ever!!
well, that and every song.
genio
logo is from "The Crimson Ghost"
danzig drew the logo that says "MISFITS" that the band still uses.
@brunofromthedark bio je i u hrvatskoj u zagrebu boogaloo
First off he shouldn't be in a mainstream store, but yeah, even I would go in a shopping mall if I knew Graves would be there. His guitar is definately messed up though.
I like him...
graves impresionante
so sad.
I LOVE GRAVES
Why arent people crowding over this guy!? Stupid fucks don't realize this guy is fucking awsome.
Much love.
@xalexislegendx i actually think jerry is better than both graves and danzig. i see them every year at starland ballroom in nj. i like both graves and danzig, dont get me wrong. but i like jerrys versions of their songs so much better, and jerrys origonals, although there are few so far, are awesome
Does anyone know where I can find a short sleeve or tank top rig cage shirt that Michale's been famously wearing through out his career?
i think they both are good.i wouldnt say one is better then the other but thats how i see it
@ScumJunkie and @bloodofthesacred
If you look for the Dig Up Her Bones song from this session he says it has 4. It is possible he has 6 at this point and two broke..... but... who knows?! Someone on here must have been there!
@xalexislegendx Only is not an original member they had a bassist before him for a while.
Michale COME TO EUROPE!
True that.
This song makes me sad =/ - "There was something that I forgot to say" ♪
