He was born in Belarus! i just love the way he respect his country altough i dont understand a word he sings. He was only 5 years old when he moved to Norway. He could easily said he was 100% norwegian but he says im at leat 10% belarus and thats admirable. Anni Fried Lyngstad in Abba was born in Norway, she had to leave the country at the age of 3. She never ever again said she was 1% norwegian ever...
The song and the way he is singing is really beautiful. He simply can't say the audience that I won't sing at the prescence of Lukashenko. He makes people happy in the theatre.
Of course Mr Lukashenko just happened to pass by and find an empty seat. Alexander could not have known this beforehand... Allow me to make an observation. Keeping people in a theatre happy, and in the presence of the leader, have we heard of that before? Yes actually, two historic examples comes to mind. Colossesum and Nuremberg.
This is SO beautiful, one of his best performances ever in my opinion. Keep coming back to listen to the lovely song, and see how touching it is for Alexander being able to come back and do this performance...
He was born in belaruss but it's not his motherthoug. Most urban people in belaruss speak russian. Belarusian is more of a rural language. He speak fluently Russian, Norwegian and English :)
@@GeneralDestroyQc Please, the fact that beautiful Belarusian has suffered a gross linguistic acculturation by Russian supremacism doesn´t make the fact acceptable, since it shouldn't be relegated to a non standard status in its own ancestral land! Blessed be the amazing young activists who have been defending their language and their country from the tyranny of pro-Russian dictators!
Going back in memorial lane... This video touched me very much when I heard it the first time. And I played it a lot for months. It must have been a very special moment for Alexander to be back for the first time in the country he was born, after so many years... And with his mother in the audience... A very nice video! I read all the comments now, and I see I thanked Belarus for giving us Alexander. I still mean it from the bottom of my heart! It was a gift for Norway to get Alexander there!
Thanks for the translation. I figured he said something like that. He is very sweet and I am also very proud if him. And proud that his father selected Norway as his new country. And I am sure it is because his parents brought with them the Belarussian genes and culture, that made him the way he is. Combined with the norwegian enviroment and opportunities, he got the best from two cultures, and the result is so awesome! His good looks is from his mother. Thanks Belarus, for giving us Alexander.
translation Good evening president, good evening Balarus the last time i was here i was 5 years old so... so I am very glad to be here thank you very much for invitation when i was young my mom sang this song after that he started sing a song
Wow, what a emotional song ... and Alexander sing that from his heart and soul :) It's breath-taking performance, I almost start cry! :) Greetings from Slovenia to all Alex's fans!
Sure! He greeted the audience and the president, said he's really worried cuz last time he was in Belarus he was 5, but he's very happy to be there. (Then there's sth in Belorussian I don't understand) and then he said his mother used to sing this song to him when he was a kid. :)
Nice video and song, must be very touching for him to be there... His first time back to the country where he is born. A few months ago Alexander said they did not dare to go back because his father escaped to Norway twenty years ago. Alexander and his mother were allowed to follow two years later. But then a spokesman from the government said it would be perfectly safe for him to visit, and now he did! So good for him! His mother was there too, but not his father. Could anyone please translate?
A wonderful song, it really is. I love it. However Mr. Rybak (who is I presume a west oriented character) has in this performance no problem with saluting Europe's last dictator. Can I please se a tabloid address that issue...
He goes to Belarus, sings for dictators and goes back home to live in freedom in Norway. Wouldn't it be nice if it was so easy for all the people who suffer under Lukashenko's terror....
Let me repeat an earlier comment: (However somewhat written in effect.) You may read my other comments as well. # The main basics of a fascist regime is to promise safety and employment to the people. For a number of reasons the solutions provided regarding employment will in the long run not work. I will be happy to elaborate if you wish. It's simple economic formulas. The price for aforesaid safety is total obedience to the leader. To speak against the leader will get you tortured and/or killed. (Regarding Belarus this is sadly a documented fact.) Do you embrace this? If so, then Hitler has won.
I know i is a folk song. And it is a very beautiful one. I'm wondering why Alexander Rybak is supporting the illegitim and despot leader of Belarus. I really hope it is only a matter of youthful and extremely bad judgement.
The TV station must be under instructions to show a clip of the president and his entourage every 30 seconds. Alex won't be getting the Nobel prize for promoting free and open democracies.
Because the leader is not a despot... I come from ex-communist country, and I lived in Belarus for six months and I felt far safer than in my country, which has problems with unemployment, drug and people trafficking and exile of citizens... I find politics of Belarus very poisitive...

I find it remarkable that Alexander can speak ,sing, and write songs in several languages. Few entertainers have reached this standard. I'm impressed.
Great Sasha and his wonderful belarussian folk song. :) :) :)
Приятно видеть этого человека!

He goes to Belarus, sings for dictators and goes back home to live in freedom in Norway. Wouldn't it be nice if it was so easy for all the people who suffer under Lukashenko's terror....

Better under Lukashenko or Putin than a neo-nazi poor Europe.
To love and respect the place of your birth is natural and admirable. To love and respect the Führer is somewhat different.
@VVerooonika ups.. :S :D

I personally hate Alexander Lukashenko for spreading hate towards Poles on Belarus. Beautiful song.....
@alejandro68449 es la pura verdad
He looks JUST like his mom..... I was sooo shocked. XD
F
Дочка отбою от женихов нет...
Wot theme
Личная жизнь у Рыбака не устроена, значит он еще не нашел женщину, похожую на его маму. Психология!!!

He is a fantastic performer.
And so naive, without political knowledge.
It is sad. That is how the holocaust began.
this song is so beautiful
