  • Simple and delicious steamed milk pudding without using gelatin or agar agar. This chinese dessert is so smooth, using egg to set the pudding which also gives it a creamy taste. This is an easy steamed milk dessert, adjust the amount of sugar used in the recipe according to your preference.

    The full recipe is below

    250ml whole milk
    18g sugar
    2 eggs
    Heat milk over low heat.
    Add sugar and stir to dissolve.
    Remove from heat and set aside.
    In a bowl, whisk eggs until well beaten.
    Add sweetened milk and mix until well combined.
    Note: if the milk is too hot to touch, allow to cool first before adding otherwise the heat will cook the eggs.
    Strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove any lumps and bubbles.
    Remove any remaining bubbles on the surface.
    Wrap tightly with steam safe cling wrap.
    Place in steamer and cover while leaving a slight opening.
    Steam on medium high heat for 18 mins.
    If using a shallow bowl, reduce time by 2-3 mins.
    Serve hot or cold according to preference.
