    Daniel Radcliffe seems like a really cool guy. I feel like he would be a very interesting person to have a conversation with, simply because he is down-to-earth and intelligent. This interview was very eye-opening in terms of him as an actor which I appreciate. Most people don’t see past the fact that he was Harry Potter so it’s nice to hear him talk more freely about his other work and his development as not only an actor but also as a person. Tons of respect for Dan!

    One of the best interviews because he was asked a broader range of questions about his acting roles and characters without only focusing on Harry Potter but was still mentioned in a way that didn't overshadow the rest of his work. He always interviews well, he's an old soul. Look forward to his "transitions" in the future.

    I think he was lucky as a young kid to have had such a great chance to become such a large actor! and such a young age. what I think is he was so lucky to live his dream and I understand why so many people want to follow in his footsteps because it pays soo well. I mean I have an audition in the morning and if I get the job it will pay 9,000 euro. but if I dont it will cost 30 euro in fuel just to get mr there.

    At the start he looked like he was about to cry. As the interview was going on he sort of was distracted of his thoughts and things went better. That was time of his troubles and tribulations with Erin, I suppose. They had started relationships then broke up then started again. He always tries to pretend he is wise and experienced in terms of hiding his inner life from the public eye but wears his heart on his sleeve anyway. I love him for this

In other words I heard the opposite of what happened, and therefore like things a bit more refined then tacky when it comes to manner, or friendship, not necessarily outer ware.

    Radcliffe's performance was good however this movie really is shameful in it's positive portrayal of a pedophile. David Kammerer is not someone to feel sorry for and he wasn't someone whose love was unrequited by a closeted homosexual. Kammerer met Car when he was 12 and when Kammerer was in his mid to late 20's as a boy scout troop leader. Sound like a typical set up for pedophilia? Kammerer then followed Carr and his mother wherever they went stalking Carr because he wanted to continue to perform disgusting acts on him. The murder of Kammerer was done with Carr's boy scout knife which to any psychologist would probably sound significant. Don't buy the bs in this movie.

    • @tiffanykim2773
      @tiffanykim2773 9 років тому

      It's just a movie. But true reading up on Allen and Lucien and the real story it would have been a good movie as is, even if they put Carr and Allen together portraying Krammer as he really was would have a had a bigger impact. But what can you do that's Hollywood for you. Still Dan does it justice.

    • @Jackmonster3231
      @Jackmonster3231 9 років тому +3

      Tiffany Gittens It is just a movie however it is a movie attempting to portray real people and real events and it does an immoral job at doing so. This movie is essentially making a movie on a rape crime and saying that the victim was asking for it. Other than Ginsberg obsession with Carr there is no evidence that Carr himself had any homosexual inclinations.

    • @tiffanykim2773
      @tiffanykim2773 9 років тому +2

      Jackmonster3231 Okay so I commented on the movie before I actually saw it.
      But from what I have read about the actual story with regards to all parties involved in the creation of the beat generation, and in relation to the time period depicted in the movie along with the details that were shown pertaining to that stage of their lives (Mr. Carr and Mr. Ginsberg), the director did a very good job of bringing the true story to life. He stuck to the facts in my opinion.
      Also Mr. Krammer was portrayed by Michael C Hall as exactly what he was, both a pedophile and a stalker.
      I think the trailer may have done the film injustice. If you watch the movie you will see that everyone involved did a very good job, so much so that actual relatives of Allen actually gave their approval to the finished product. In my book that has to count for something.

    • @Jackmonster3231
      @Jackmonster3231 9 років тому +2

      Tiffany Gittens I watched the movie before I made these comments and Ive seen it multiple times. It's how you point out people in Alan's camp liking this movie when Caleb Carr, Lucien's son, wrote a long piece criticizing the movie for being a fabricated fantasy from Ginsberg. The movie portrays Kammerer in a sympathetic light as though he was just someone whose love wasnt being returned by Carr when in reality Kammerer was a pedophile and abuser. Along with that other than Ginsberg obsession with Carr there's nothing to suggest Carr was a closeted homosexual. John Krokidas made some very liberal changes to the story that makes the events seem much different than they originally were.

    • @tiffanykim2773
      @tiffanykim2773 9 років тому +2

      Well true the director never mentioned if anyone from Mr. Carr's estate approved of the movie. However, I don't believe it would be shocking for anyone to read that Lucien's son is not a fan of this movie and the way his father has been portrayed on screen.
      For though me I saw Krammer for what he was, a pedophile and someone who took advantage of Lucien's lack of a father/father figure to protect him. And I didn't feel that he was shown as a closeted homosexual but, that maybe like most 17 year old he was confused a bit by his feelings towards Allen. But mainly from what I saw he never showed any reaction to Allen's feelings even though I'm sure he was aware of them.
      On a grand scale I think Ginsberg was infatuated with Mr. Carr, his personality was a bit eccentric and it would be hard for someone to not be at least a bit interested in being around someone like that. However, for the most part and with regards to his friendship with Allen it was like opposites attract.
      Any ways everyone will have a different reaction to the film, they were trying not to emulate the characters or become them really but to portray each individual according to their understanding of all that was recorded in Allen's diary during that time period.
      It's just a small piece of the puzzle with regards to the lives of these men during a specific period of their development.
