Geddy Lee (Lead singer, Bassist and keyboardist) ran his sound through the stadiums sound system so had no wall of speakers behind him like the lead guitarist. So to even the stage they started with washers and dryers doing the band and crews laundry during shows. They then progressed to rotisserie ovens cooking chickens for the band, roadies and other crews for the after show meals.
Like Bach and Beethoven, 1,000 years from now NP will be remembered as one of the greatest drummers of all time. At his level, no one his peer is better. It will only be opinion and preference. To me, he’s the best in history and future…
Geddy put those dryers behind his side of the stage because Alex had his stacks of amps, but Geddy doesn't use those so it balances out the stage. During the concert, he'll reach in and grab t-shirts to throw out. They have also used rotisserie chicken ovens.
There's a really funny story about how the washer and dryer on stage. they were put there to balance out the Marshal Amp stacks used by the guitarist. The bassist/singer Geddy Lee. 30 years ago ro so. it kind of stuck, lol
Neil is a legend RIP he is missed and loved thank you Neil for the music and memories ❤ Rush as a group is outstanding pleas check out more music from them
A drummer of drummers. A one man drum line. RIP Professor. If you ask others who the best drummer ever has been, MOST people would say Neil Peart. In fact he ranked number 1 drummer 10 out of 11 years in a row.
Yeah, what a lot of new people to the band don’t realize is that RUSH are 3 very silly men. So yeah, washing machines onstage. I won’t go into why right now, but their sense of humor is as legendary as their music. You have to spend some time with them to get all the inside jokes. Their Old School fans (like me) love them even more because on top of the fantastic musicianship, they are really funny. Especially Alex, he’s awesome! RUSH ARMY! 😁👍
It’s called “limb independence” Neil had it for each limb. What it means is you are able to use your limbs in full independence of the other ones.he could keep 2 tempos going at the same time. And every sound in this is triggered by Neil. No help.
The washer / dryer on stage was just one of their props on stage through the years. My favorite on one tour was two rotisseries filled with chickens roasting. The band said it was because "they had always wanted hot chicks on stage"!
Neil Peart is freaking amazing. They don't call him the Professor for nothing. Since you like drum solos, you should watch the Godsmack drum battle. It's crazy good.
Year Neil was a very precise mathematical in his approach drumming for most of his career. He started to play with a little more jazz/ swing later on with the mentorship of Freddy Gruber he’s definitely in my personal top 10
Dude, when you sat back in your chair all amazed... That was just him finishing the easy part and going off into a little bit more. lmao at you. Sorry, not mocking but that's a it funny. You were humbled... Most drummers should be able to do about half this stuff but they don't/can't. Too many think they're all that but they can't keep time. Some of what he incorporated into this solo is reminiscent of drummers +40 years ago. Plus modernizing it very well. Louis Belson, Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich... Long list of wonders.
Ya ain’t ready for this shiznit braaaaas. Because He hittin hard and heavy. Always keeps it steady. Knockin it down like a Louisiana levy. Hittin the ground like an old school Chevy. You thought you could hang, but cha all ain’t ready. 4shizzels
My fav band and drummer is Tool and Danny Carey, but Peart is a G - Damn LEGEND. + marks for the correct pronunciation. I'm sure my fellow Canadians have been letting you know. Let's go!! (only a minute into your reaction). I know it'll be good.
You got the wrong phone nail man. Live in Frankfort was 30th anniversary for RUSH your thumbnail depicts 2007 on their vapor trails tour. Glad you enjoyed Rush my brother.
Neil's kit was actually two complete drum sets back-to-back. He was from right here in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, and quite possibly the greatest drummer of all time. (Buddy Rich is still in the running, though.)
Mostly nose breathing. Complete control. Effortless mastery. And yes, the laundry was real-ish. Stagehands would change the load every coupla songs, during the song like it was nothing. All part of the humor that is RUSH. 🤟🏽
They actually used them to balance the look of the stage and make it linear because they used direct boxes rather than a large group of amps taking up far less stage. They've used several props including commercial rotisserie ovens cooking chicken. With the dryers, they were coin operated with Canadian quarters that were full of special event shirts that were tossed to the crowd near the end of the show.
SOOO happy you truly appreciated it!!! :) LOVE the reaction!! :) ♥ “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in Him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” ~ Romans 15:13
I don't think the canaanites, perizzites, hittites and jebusites were overly impressed with gods hope and power, especially as he told the Israelites to murder all the males and take all the virgins to do with as they wish. God of love? I think not
Try to play 4 different difficult beats with all 4 of your limbs Together And keep the rhythm..... Or just try to do1212 with all 4 of you limbs see how that works out Before you try a difficult beats
It's a reaction video , I don't understand, why people complain on a reaction video , when they pause to comment ! If you want to watch music video played straight through, don't watch reaction videos !!
@@careyplaylist as a musician of 50 years I know that it's impossible to appreciate music if one stops and starts it. I watch other reactors who listen to 20 minute tracks without pausing because they don't want to ruin it for themselves. They comment at the end. Reacting isn't about making constant remarks. Sometimes watching someones expressions is even more satisfying to see, especially when you yourself have watched a video many times and really want someone else to appreciate it.
I was there for that tour.....yes. Washer and Dryer on stage. Pick ANY of your favorite drummers.....their favorite drummer is Neil.
Geddy Lee (Lead singer, Bassist and keyboardist) ran his sound through the stadiums sound system so had no wall of speakers behind him like the lead guitarist. 1:12 I love that look on your face when you see Neil's drumkit from above for the first time.
Like Bach and Beethoven, 1,000 years from now NP will be remembered as one of the greatest drummers of all time. At his level, no one his peer is better. It will only be opinion and preference. To me, he’s the best in history and future…
Got the chance to see Rush in the 90's. To watch Neil play those drums is a memory I will not forget.
The roll the bones tour🎉❤ I saw him in Connecticut
I saw Rush six times in the 80’s-90’s.
Seen Them 9 Times epic
I saw Rush six times in the 80’s-90’s.
One of the GOATS of rock drumming- a legend. RIP Neil 'The Professor' Peart.
NEIL PEART IS IN DA HOUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Geddy put those dryers behind his side of the stage because Alex had his stacks of amps, but Geddy doesn't use those so it balances out the stage. During the concert, he'll reach in and grab t-shirts to throw out. They have also used rotisserie chicken ovens.
The original GOAT Neil Peart one of the best drummers in the world great Canadian RIP Brother love your channel ❤️

"I'm cheesing like macaroni". dude, that's a good one. I'm going to use it.
I saw RUSH 30 times & I never used the drum solo as a bathroom break.
The GOAT!!! He will forever be missed.
The dryers on the stage hold merch, they take them out at the end of the show and throw them out into the crowd. It was wonderful to watch them live
Neil is a legend RIP he is missed and loved thank you Neil for the music and memories ❤ Rush as a group is outstanding pleas check out more music from them

Keep in mind, this masterpiece was towards the end of a 2.5-3 hour show, and Neil looks like he hasn’t even broken a sweat.
Neil also wrote Rush’s songs! Genius! And a poet. ❤
The GOAT!❤ Thanks for great reaction! 😊😊
Ahh, he was BRILLIANT! One of the greatest ever. Thanks for your reaction.
R.I.P to Neil what a gift to music he was
Ocean of drums!! Spot on bruh!!!

Neil once likened playing drums in Rush to running a marathon while performing calculus
He’s you favorite drummer’s favorite drummer. We are all influenced by this dude.
As monitors and amps behind the band playing live became obsolete , Geddy and Alex would put funny props behind them on stage . Funny guys.
Love this...The Professor teaching a master class :)

That was a washer dryer to help keep beat and do laundry 😂. They had pop corn machines too. My first concert in 1982 was Rush. Epic
Another great drummer you should think about checking out is Jeremy Coulson, the drummer for Steve Vai during his where The Wild Things tour.

Neil's hardware is gold plated

Neil's had a two drum kits: one was a MIDI kit plus an acoustic kit.
The best ever to hold two sticks and bang cow hide!!!

@7:08 yeah, you aint wrong in that, but some musicians just feel it and let it roll, improv... that is when you know you are a top tier..
So the dryers had specialized t shirts that had the date and venue and they got thrown out towards the end of the show.
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥🔥🥁
Neil Peart idolized Buddy Rich. You should check him out.

Moderatto - solo de batería Performed by Elohim
He's mexican drummer
John Bonham 1977 from Led Zeppelin next. There are many of his solos to choose from.
Yes, it's a washer and dryer on stage. They keep T's in them to toss out to the audience during the show...
Little Richard
@OK Sceez … and to think, Neil felt like crap that night… suffering from the flu…
Good reaction.
Drummers use a Metronome to keep time. A Metronome uses Neil Peart to keep time.
He does this in the middle of a 3-hour concert.
I stopped watching after the 4th pause before Neil had even hit the 1 minute mark.
Yes, Danny Carey is a real good drummer, but even he would admit......he's no Neil Peart, the GOAT. RIP to the Professor.
The bass player has the washer and dryers. It’s making fun of all of the equipment the guitarist has.
Try to play 4 different difficult beats with all 4 of your limbs Together And keep the rhythm..... Or just try to do1212 with all 4 of you limbs see how that works out Before you try a difficult beats

I've heard that a great drummer will carry a mediocre band...of course NOT Rush...
Nope there's absolutely nothing mediocre about Rush!!
Well you can stop doing drum solos now, unless you do more Neal.
Played ever single drum on that massive kit flawless simply the Best
