  • After getting oil burns on part of my face, neck and arm I set out to find something to help my skin recover. La Mer was created for just this reason! Let me tell you about my story and how The Concentrate worked for me.
I am a fan of La Mer but I'm loyal to only a handful of their products. I'll give you the good, bad and ugly of every product I talk about.

I agree so much. It is extremely expensive but if you can save your pennies for a bottle of “The Concentrate,” it is worth the effort. This is a skincare product that actually works and it is a multi-tasker for me. As a serum, it reduces redness, pore size and gives my face an extra layer of protection from wind chill and pollutants. It also speeds up healing from minor burns, spot scars and scratches. Velvety soft feeling after use and a great preparation for moisturising.

I started using this yesterday after getting second degree burns on face. It’s amazing! It’s taken away the pain and the burns are shrinking so quickly.

I mix the concentrate with the treatment lotion. Makes it a little more liquidy and goes on the face more evenly.

Great video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I would love your opinion. Have you tried - Poyliviat Wordless Predominance (probably on Google)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for learning what to eat to slow down your ageing process without the hard work. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my good mate called Gray after many years got astronomical results with it.

Just got this and you are so right. This had the best ingredient deck. I have a med issue that is causing rash/burns around my eyes. Bad enough that me and my neuro were concerned this might scar. Burn cream has helped the best, steroid have kept my lid from splitting. Even when it isn’t red, the area hurts. Got this Saturday and dabbed on a bit, just around the eyes (not in my budget to use it all over). First time in months I had a break in the pain. I’m using the samples I was sent as well, and so far this looks and feels better. Obviously, it takes 90 days to see new skin, so I didn’t expect to have any opinion yet. But I am impressed so far. This might really help while my neurologist clears up the underlying problem.

I have been using La Mer The Concentrate for years and I agree with you that it does works. My face gets very sensitive after shaving so I use it mainly to sooth my skin. I have tried other face lotion, essence, and serum and discovered that they do not have the same soothing effect as The Concentrate. This is basically the only cosmetic I use on my face.

I concur! the concentrate is AMAZING!!!! A miracle in a bottle... I have the cleansing foam , micellar water, treatment lotion, regenerating serum, renewal oil, eye concentrate, Crème de la Mer Moisturizing Cream AND the soft cream ... phew! But going forward I am going to simplify my routine... the cleansing foam and micellar water ( I interchange them), THE CONCENTRATE, the renewal oil, eye concentrate and the creme de la mer cream - that's it.
To me, the concentrate is the MOTHER of all haha I don't need the treatment lotion or the regenerating serum ...
Just my experience and for anyone thinking of trying La Mer, definitely start with a cleanser of your choice and the concentrate; then grow from there... you will be AMAZED!

Die hard La Mer convert here and it’s only been four weeks since I started using their products. I had never heard of La Mer until this year and I’m 55🤣
La Mer has done more for my skin than EVERYTHING I’VE EVER TRIED for the past 15 years! I’ve used reputable products (Clinique, Proven, Elemis, In Your Face, N°7, Peter Thomas Roth) and not ONE of their products has been able to do what La Mer has done in a matter of weeks. I’m talking chronically dry, chapped, painful skin under my nose (I live in Alaska) and dry, rosacea-prone skin in general. I’m fair-skinned like you too so EVERYTHING shows😭 My skin looks better now than it has in a very long time. My dryness is GONE.
    La Mer is a godsend….and I’m an atheist🤣

mmshesha I talk about this more in my newest “top 5” video because it’s a common question. My burns were from an oil splatter so I had “drops” across my forehead and down the left side of my face and arm. It’s took two months to get to a point of me being able to cover them with makeup.

Hello Jamie! I love your channel and am so glad you did this review. I fell in love with the new La Mer Soft Fluid Foundation and Powder and got some samples of the skincare, which I have been loving. You said you use a small collection of the products and wanted to see if you would share what they are? I am interested in the Perfecting Treatment and the Concentrate but wondered if you use/need the La Mer classic moisturizer as well. Your skin is gorgeous and as a fellow skin care junkie I am always on the hunt for the best stuff! Thank you!

    • @JamieQuinn

H Abby!! Thank you for your support :) Yes, I am currently using the La Mer classic moisturizer but I'm always on the fence if it's a need or a want. hahaa I can tell you that in the winter months the classic moisturizer is amazing and in the summer months I switch to their soft cream or the gel.
The La Mer products that I am currently using are:
      -the concentrate
      -hydrating serum
      -perfecting treatment
      -classic moisturizer
      -micellar water
      -lifting eye serum
-body cream (not for the face but I can't leave it off the list) :)
Depending if it's my a.m. or p.m. routine would dictate which product above I use. I'm actually creating a video on my a.m. routine, so stay tuned!

Thao Phan 👋🙌😘hello, hello! I get this question a lot actually. The Concentrate is amazing and soothing and healing and a little bit hydrating. The Creme de La Mer is all hydration. Depending on your skin, is how I'd make my decision. Both products are good for the whole face and I even add The Concentrate to my lips 😉. Hope this helps you make your tough decision.

Hi! Tfs!! Can you tell me anything about the eye concentrate from the la mer line if you have used it?? I'm thinking about purchasing it but still unsure... I'm in my 30s and I'm starting to see wrinkles/dark circles 😣 please help!

    • @JamieQuinn
      @JamieQuinn  7 років тому +1

Hi Turtle Power! Yes, I have used the Eye Concentrate :) It helped with the eye wrinkles and made me feel like my eyes were less puffy. My make up went on really nice on top of it, too.
I don't have dark circles, so I can't comment on that part. I did try the Eye Concentrate to see if it provided any additional brightness over the Eye Balm Intense. I didn't notice a change in that respect.
I hope this helps :) A video will be coming soon :)

    • @JamieQuinn
      @JamieQuinn  7 років тому

@turtlepower I can see that you sent me a question, but it's now allowing me to respond, so I thought I'd get creative and respond this way. Here is the question I received from you and my thoughts on it:
From TurtlePower: Tfs! I'm trying to use up all my current products and want to switch over the to La Mer line! I recently just picked up the eye concentrate. Is this product kinda like a serum? I ran out of my regular/night time serum. I'm also looking for a daytime moisturizer with spf as well as a night time one. Any recommendations? I have normal to oily skin and would like to even out my complexion as well as brighten it up. Thanks!
Me: The Eye Concentrate is really not a serum but more of an eye moisturizing cream. You can always add a serum underneath it :) I used La Mer's Lifting Treatment as a serum under my eyes and I liked the immediate tightening i felt. As far as a moisturizer with an SPF and a night time one here is what I do.... It's hard to find the "unicorn" of moisturizers that does everything we want (moisturizes, even out complexion, brighten, etc) so I go for the best moisturizer I can find and then supplement with serums to get the end result I want. As far as an SPF in my moisturizer, I don't go this route because you actually need to reapply your SPF every two hours for any protection from the elements/sun. There are a lot of facial mists with SPF in them that I love to spray over my make up application and then reapply as needed.
Sorry this is lengthy but I wanted to make sure to get back to you. :) :) :) :)

Agatha Klimczak 😀HI Agatha! I can't speak from personal experience on either topic but the La Mer rep and a friend confirmed that it helped reduce the visibility of stretch marks and made some disappear completely. As far as scarring, I had luck with it minimizing the appearance of a car accident scar on my chin but, believe me, I can still notice it. The fresher the "wound" I believe the better it works.

It honestly depends on how my skin is doing. If it’s raw from a laser skin treatment or I broke the skin anywhere, I use this as my one-stop-shop. However, if my skin is irritated or I’m using it just for healing and moisturizing, then I do apply a moisturizer over it. Hope that makes sense. 😁😁

      Good evening, Jamie!
Wow! Thank you for replying to me, and I look forward to watching your upcoming video about the product.
I'm happy to hear that you're trying out The Eye Lifting Serum. I'm
curious about La Mer's products because I was in a car accident about 4 and a half years ago, and one of my eye lids droop as a result. I've been using eye lid double-sided tape strips from Japan, but I'm hoping that a firming serum like what you're currently testing out will work well enough for me, so that the serum can replace me having to apply the strip each day in order to "lift" my droopy lid. 
Also, would you happen to have an opinion regarding La Mer's Reparative Skin Tint SPF 30?
What got me interested in La Mer was the original moisturizing cream. I've found that my skin is very compatible with it. It not only truly
moisturizes for me, but my eyes don't get red and puffy, which
unfortunately has occurred to me with some other eye creams.
What I'm excited about regarding The Concentrate is it's ability to heal
scars. I'm hoping that the formula will help to repair my facial skin from the damage caused by the accident.
Thanks to your review, I became sold on the product, and so far, I'm happy with it. It smells very medicinal, which makes me think that it's extremely concentrated... just like it's called.
I hope that you have a peaceful night. Thanks again, Jamie!
      Sincerely,
      Robby

Robby Moore so sorry to hear about your accident. I hope The Concentrate works as well for you as it did for me. I'm not using the Skin Tint product yet, but I'll keep you posted.

Have you tried the mask? NOT the revitalizing one, the lifting one. I would like to see you actually apply these products. Maybe you have and can direct me to the video. Thanks!

Hi D! Yes, I applied all the products during my "morning skincare routine" video so definitely check it out. :) I have used the lifting mask but that was 3 years ago. I think I need to try it again to refresh my memory because I get asked about it a lot. Thanks for the reminder!!!
