For a comb stuck in hair: cut the teeth off with a cutting tool like a wire cutter. Just the base of the comb should be left and you can slide it out of the hair

who just has a wire cutter sitting around at home? you dont even need to break the comb. her hair was pin ass straight, fine, and not coarse. literally all she needed to do was exactly what brad said to do which was go at it little pieces at a time. it wasnt that much stuck either. you also risk cutting your hair with the wire cutter. all you need is your hands, lubrication like oil or conditioner, and patience.
Honestly you don't even need wire cutters. Combs are not that strong
Put a lot of conditioner on it, too, to make it looser.
Years ago I dyed my hair with Manic Panic's Rockabilly Blue which is there super duper highly concentrated colour -- it even said on the bottle to be careful and you need to use less colour than you would with their other colours. Well, I was younger and dumber and dumped a ton on my fairly short hair because how bad could it really be. I came out of the shower looking like a blueberry. Like severing straight up Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory vibes. I remember texting my best friend in a panic. 😂

Yeah I used the red and my whole face was red, I would wake up everyday with a red face, red pillow, anytime I would drip sweat it would run down my face and neck. I had to take it out of my hair after a week. It would never wash out

It's got to be semi-permanent. They're all pigment no processing. LPT: lightly coat stained skin with liquid soap and wash with rubbing alcohol and washcloth. Repeat as needed.

I had a pandemic breakdown and dyed my hair purple with Splat….my ears, my neck, my hands, my shower were absolutely purple for weeks. 😭 Also, a year and a half later I trimmed my hair and purple came out of it. It was baffling.
yeah, same. hair dye has never made that type of mess for me, black or otherwise, permanent or not. that was closer to what happened when I dressed as a drow. now that got everywhere, I think there's still some staining in the shower from that costume and that was years ago.

The hands are the only thing I can't understand, I've gotten mild stains from the runoff as I washed out my hair dye but even if I slipped up and forgot gloves ( while rinsing out heavily pigmented dye, never forgot them in the dyeing process) my hands never got that bad, at most they had a similar faint stain and my nails looked a bit off.

Years ago, my mom colored her hair with black box dye. The next day, she noticed that people, at the store where she worked, were looking at her weird. Someone finally told her that her whole face was blue. She didn't rinse all of the dye out and it transferred, from her hair, to her pillow case, then onto her face 🤣
So she just hopped outta bed and went to work lol no shower, no mirror, nothing lol

Yes at the "you can always get a comb out" advice! I once got a freaking piece of velcro stuck in my hair. Really, really stuck. Right in the front. My mom wanted to cut it out. I refused. I lost quite a number of strands of hair and it took me a long time and a lot of conditioner, but I got that sucker out and didn't have to give myself weird bangs.

I think it's because the actual style and cut of the hair needs to be more of a shag and longer to create more volume around the head not just at the bottom the back was very flat more down to an incorrect haircut for the style xx

@@vivalanikkix no. Even the ones with blue hues do not look like that in the tub. I used to religiously box dye my hair in my late teens and early 20’s black. I’m already a very dark brown but even when I chose the blue black it did not look like that. And I have stained myself multiple times never ever looked like that to that extent. There is no way that’s hair dye.
How would she get sharpie to spread out that evenly? And why? And do you realize how long it would take to paint both your hands ink-black, down into the last crease?
She'd have to invest at last a day for clean-up, and all for a "ooops, I messed up" video?
And the pattern over her face is pretty much where you have most of the water running when you stand under a shower and rinse out your hair with your head bent to the front.
That, and "I don't understand how that could happen like that" = "this is fake!!!!" is a very, very, very dangerous trend. Like, dead people dangerous.

I'm a curly-haired girl who's great at untangling proto-locs that form at the back of my head. Unless it's literally glued in with superglue there's no reason to need to cut a comb out of your hair.
In one of Brad's video he mentioned how students do not listen in beauty school. FYI: I was horrified of speaking in public when I became a barber instructor. I was an instructor reviewing a chapter for about 5 minutes when I realized that I could sing the words to Hair, and nobody would notice, which included my coworkers.

A fail in the sense it wasn’t the style of Farah Fawcetts shaggy hair. Hers came out more Marilyn Monroe, if anything. Farrahs hair swoops down and out to frame her entire facial structure. It doesn’t hang low in little curls. Nevertheless, that girls hair is stunning and she rocked those curls

I can see one from a mile, when I used to dance we also had to get our hair literally rock hard and her makeup looks like what we did too 😄 you slather the hairspray, sometimes used more than one bottle per hairstyle and also gel, it was crazy. Wasn’t fun when you come home and have to get it out of the hair 💀 but I don’t know why did she unstick the waves, hair is so fragile like this, I usually just start washing it, so the hair softens and the waves will come apart on their own.

I used to do synchronized swimming back in undergrad and our hair had to be the same. We’d use packs of gelatin to turn our hair into helmets then spent hours trying to wash it all out afterwards. Good times.

I think that you being a hairdresser should react to people with severely matted hair (like a transformation or whatever) because I believe this is an issue regarding depression that isn't discussed enough. I realize you already made a pretty similar video (people removing their dreads). Still, matted hair is an entirely different thing and as someone who once struggled with it in middle school, I regret having cut it instead of looking for help.
Update: Some of you have replied "He's not a therapist" and I understand that. I'm not asking for him to suddenly become all deep and emotional as really all it takes to make a matted hair victim feel better is knowing that other people are going through the same thing. He has a pretty vast social media presence meaning he'll attract a lot of people, so the possibility that viewers can relate compared to other social media accounts is definitely increased. Something even more important for viewers to know is that he's a professional. I remember that during my experience of having matted hair, I'd obsessively watch videos of mothers (or whoever) detangling matted hair and I did not really trust the process. I'm sure this has or still happens with other people, so simply knowing the fact that he's a professional will definitely make viewers have better confidence in actually detangling their hair rather than immediately going for the scissors. Anyway, I hope that anyone that is going through this hell will feel a little more hopeful after reading this comment (and I definitely recommend reading the replies as well, there is some pretty good advice!) Just know that you are not alone and it IS solvable. Best of luck. 💖

That would be incredible- my best friend’s little sister went through a few year phase when she was a younger where I was the only one able to try and brush her hair- the poor thing got so matted but it was always so satisfying at the end when I got her hair all brushed through and soft again

@@chaii_latte use lots and lots of detangler and even oils,, wide tooth comb and lots and lots of patience,, you need to be gentle and DO NOT TUG you will hurt your scalp and RIP your follicles out,,,, always start at the ends and if you can’t get all the way a hairdresser should be able to finish the job for you,, a good hairdresser will always be understanding and SHOULD give you options unless it’s past the point of no return,, i wish you the best of luck and just know it gets better, from personal experience ❤❤❤

I had a round brush stuck in my hair at the top of my head. My mum pulled out all the nubs of the brush with a pair of pliers. It took hours but at least I didn't have to cut off my hair. 😆
As a kid I cut my bangs nearly to my scalp and the lovely lady that worked at the local hair salon was a miracle worker, she pulled a layer from a little behind my bangs and blended with what remained of my bangs to hide my terrible mistake 🙃 she kept blending it for me until it was completely grown out and then she just blended the "curtain" layer into the top layer of my hair
That's what I was thinking.. pull more hair and layer over some bangs.

Omw. The bald one is my personal testimony. I've dyed my hair platinum blond and cut before and earlier on this year, I went to the barber to get it done as I usually do. It was the first time getting it done at this new saloon and let me just say... The experience was so traumatizing that I've decided never to dye or cut my hair again. This man cut my hair so short I was nearly bald, then he overdyed my hair, my scalp was on fire then he also tried to rinse my hair out with warm water. I was literally screaming and crying from pain. The remaining bits of my hair fell out and I had painful sores all over my scalp. Just typing this out has brought back that memory and it was so so ugly.
