the thing is... yes as a dev its a hassle but again, they get a huge revenue from new content its a simple math on investment and return... if they release new campaign with new factions is immediately a huge win, pulls in old players again, encourages spendings on the new characters... so the comparison to other gamemodes is a bit off since they are a core feature of the game... i wouldnt be playing this game either if it wouldnt have the campaign. Never underestimate the ammount of people who enjoys casual PvE content...
The campaigns are almost exclusively why I play, they're just a great thematic PvE experience with less stakes than wasting one of the precious few daily chances the other modes offer. They would be even better if they let you choose to rewatch the cutscenes when you replay a level. Add cutscenes to the alternate campaigns and I'd be tempted to actually spend money on this game, but no, we keep getting told that Snowprint simply isn't interested. They should seriously reconsider that position.
On the Tacticus Discord, one of the Devs has said they are in the works on making new campaigns but they are gonna be different then how they currently operate and they will reveal more information about it as they get closer to release. If I had to guess from my personnel opinion, They are probably gonna try to find a way to get more then just 2 factions in each campaign to save on dev time for the level making and such.
I think they should think about adding a mode with rarity caps. Gets more milage for levels, and mean that if new campaign starts I can't just trivilize it with D3 characters
Penny wise, dollar stupid. devs getting blindsided by influx of cash by doing minimum work thinks they can get away with it forever. it will bite them in the ass if they don't make a road map for the future of the game
I agree that the main use of the campaigns are for farming. But there are some character that you can't even use in campaign, gene stealers cult for example. So maybe no a campaign for them, but yes a way use all your character more freely, not just in the token based game modes.
The problem I have with the current state of campaigns, is that some xenos factions have no access to them whatsoever, which makes them hard to grind or even use at all. I understand part of this Game Workshop, but could we not have acess to all xenos after we 3 star the level? Would that be an acceptable lore compromise?
As someone who has been playing 40k for 20 years (i know some may still consider me a noob), i love that tacticus has campaigns. My absolute favourite has been the orks. And i want more i really really want more and i wish the mirror campaign had dialogue. Get Sandy Mitchell author of the ciaphas cain books to write the campaigns. However, i understand that campaigns may need to change to make them more viable as products going forward. As we have seen with quests and now incursion and to a lesser extent survival i think campaigns needs rarity caps to encourage smart play and not blitzing by veteran players. Campaigns need to have a secondary "baddie" to unlock during the campaign these will form the basis of the 3 man team needed for the next campaign. And this has to be financially viable for snowprint so campaigns should have offers like the quest/incursion offers which allow players to get more shards and maybe energy too. But i really want snow print to focus on narrative campaigns set in this crazy setting that i love.

I would love to experiment with Tau, Tyranids, and Genestealers, but without the ability to play them in campaigns, I can’t. That is very annoying. My hopes are that they unlock faction requirements in the Xenos campaigns so we can use any Xenos faction after 3 staring the mission (just like we can with Chaos and Imperial missions). I also would love a campaign where I can raid for craftable materials - let it cost 30 energy or something, just let me get level up mats more efficiently please!

Most of my box are G1 at this pont with about 90% of characters unlocked. I do like the scrolls that you get per campaign set, else I only play the nodes when there is a mission requiring me to do so or I am attempting to 3 star the node. I rate that campaigns should be added as the well for resource nodes dries up. The rewards should be dispersed fairly so that most players can farm what needs to be farmed. There is nothing more frustrating than having a character unlocked but no ability to upgrade them as you don't have other prerequisite characters.
Unfortunately just another example of SP’s focus on $$$. They seem to have forgotten what attracted people originally. Campaigns are an essential part of the game! All factions deserve to have their own! (Don’t waste time on those stupid story’s SP no one cares) Factions still waiting for a 5th no campaign to level the ones we have' and new characters added monthly, Having characters stuck on low levels with missions that can’t be complete is ridiculous. We should be able to replay completed salvage runs & onslaughts while allowing characters of an alliance to replay completed missions
Campaigns progression is an interesting economy game with a lot of discussions to make. It not the thrill of the battle itself (they are usually tottaly forgettable)
the problem with campaigns is they're much of a one time thing, sp should also spend more effort on story telling, like comic style cutscenes to make the campaigns feel more engaging. also iirc devs said campaigns got completed really quick, I think they should also incorporated the incursion approach, like rarity caps until 3 staring or beating the chapter boss etc to make it genuinely feel like a game mode for problem solving
i need campaign because i need a place which i can use energy to field xenos other than eldar and orks so i can complete missions of them without relying only on arena, guild raids, onslaught, salvage, etc

What campaigns are you talking about? From the title I thought this was about campaigns as in story missions like in CoD in comparison to the multiplayer PvP modes that are available. But it seems campaigns are a specific thing in whatever video game you're talking about. Why else would campaign mission be tied to characters? that's odd.
Oh yeah, must be a big hassle to code levels and maps and whatnot. Why waste effort on a game when you can just put everything into the art department and ads. Nah, I think we need more shops, like a campaign shop or a secret loading screen store that can comvert your unused character frames to raid tickets or something...
SP are lazy & only care about money, because that's what makes the world run. That being said I would prefer a permanent survival mode where I can farm any character e.g Sho (I am dying for him).

If they made a survival game-mode that dropped upgrade materials, maybe with a token system similar to our current salvage runs/onlsaught
