It is Ashton Catley. I have subscribed since 2019 .where about do you live in te Te Awamutu. I have watched all your videos. Slugs are a big problem for farmers and I also live on a farm.
Greetings from north Florida. I enjoy your videos and the beautiful New Zealand countryside. The landscapes bring back great memories of our visit to New Zealand 10 years ago. Here in north Florida it is rolling countryside with a lot of woods of oak and pine trees. However, 20 miles north of us you get into heavy agriculture farming consisting mainly of cotton, peanuts, corn, and pecan production. We have a few dairies scattered around the area, but much more beef production. Take care...
Hello from Ireland at least you have the weather to do things 25mm of rain so far this week falling on completely saturated ground we are looking down the barrel of a crisis if weather doesn't improve soon never ever seen ground as wet as it is now
Direct drilling your maize leaves enough trash for the slugs through the summer. Fescue is slow to establish and doesn't grow well through the colder months.
👀🙄🐾👍 Slug bait is money well spent in any year just be careful with your dog You maybe should consider mulching the maize stalks before drilling with grass seed

Doug is a legend. I wonder if slugs have got my annual, looks a little patchy too. Great video
Sure is.
Possibly/probably, seems like they’re quite bad this year.
