@quinnhesting7465 fun fact but the general thought noahj was first to the revelations boss fight isn't true at all, there was people there a day before him but they kept crashing, the story of how that last bone was actually found is quite random, someone datamined the steps and gave them to noah. But in actual fact that wall run wall had an arrow on it pointing to the bone the whole time

I used to watch them all the time for there custom zombies, kinda stopped when they were constantly Easter egg hunting on BO2, dudes would upload like 20 videos a day trying to discover the buried Easter egg lol
Yeah, they did a lot of videos for BO1 and BO2 zombies, and were at their biggest at the time. After that, it kind of died down when zombies disappeared for year. I believe they got a world's first a few years later, but that would be its own history video, I feel.

Just wanted to clear something for people who don't know the WaW maps were not remastered for the Rezurrection DLC. The maps were playable at the start of BO1 if you bought the Hardened or Prestige editions. They were obviously added to the DLC.
And you got moon for free when the dlc came out

The only source for it that I could ever find are the wiki pages for the astronaut and excavators, and they both only list the other page as a source. I'm pretty sure it's a false claim. It doesn't match my experience playing the map either.
Really well documented and great cinematography. Blops 2 is where the hunt races really started getting traction and where some issues rose up near the end of the games cycle, at least for us. The issues are still speculation to me but it def felt targeted. And with Blops 2 a lot more coverage happened so the "races" were heavily documented in recordings from multiple channels. Hope to see and hear more from you about the future documentation, it's been a very interesting series so far

It’s good that at least bo2 is way less controversial in who solved the Easter eggs first but it was still really cool to help out where I could with black ops 1

Great video again! Didn't know that the steps on Moon were also leaked. Same thing happened on Bo4's Dead of the Night. A playtester leaked the steps (I think on streams). I was watching Milos livestream and somebody guided him with the steps...

Man, I didn't know this was the series I needed, I never even really thought about the fact people had to world first the easter eggs of the past, but to think that the world first for moon was illegitimate is insane. I truly wonder who the first team to actually organically find all the steps was.
Just imagine if it was like the first step of the blood easter egg being known early, the hunt for that map would have quite literally been cut shorter by weeks.
There are other games I can't name that can fulfill the same catharsis that finding an easter egg step entirely on your own can fulfill. I remember back in the day when I was a kid and I found that you could suck in the fucking generator off the map in ascension entirely on accident, and never found a single other step, it took me years to learn that the easter eggs for the maps even existed, probably until I met my ex-best friend during the Black Ops 2 days and we did the Mob easter egg for the first time. I don't want to ask you to research the team that found this egg legitimately first, but if you do in the next video or even give a brief mention of looking for it I'll be happy.

While it's possible someone did solve this on their own eventually, it's unlikely. The UA-cam video with leaked steps was posted practically at the same time the map came out- undoubtedly a disgruntled QA tester that leaked the steps or someone else "from the inside." There's been a pattern of leaked steps and hints throughout most all of CoD Zombies - as you point out, even with more recent releases like BO4 and Cold War.

The best part about this video is, i played all of the call of duty games until about advanced warefare where i was disappointed from ghosts onwards, and now finally black ops 2 zombies makes sense. Over 10 years later this video finally made it all click as to why black ops 2 zombies has a destroyed atmosphere, bright blue zombie eyes and richtofen's voice lines replacing samantha. Even though i knew of and completed a good amount of these easter eggs including blowing up earth on moon, it never quite all linked up.
This is such an awesome series, thinking of doing bo2 anytime soon ?

Moon was EPIC. A shock when players first played around 6am est. We waited all night for the DLC. I liked it, completed the easteregg thanks to the help online. But, it had a little too much going on, the astronaut, pack a punch, the teleporter, the wonder weapon was awesome (my fav actually) but pack a punching it was a disappointment. The oxygen masks, gravity, the excavators, the hacker, the size of the map (if you were downed online 80% rip) wall gun placements, Not saying they were all bad but added up all together made it a bit of a hassle for me personally. Parts of the map could of been made better. I also wished it was a bit more outside, I even expected to be floating in space for a bit(like a purchasable ride)rather than a biodome or inside somewhere or between rails and zombies.

You should do videos on some of the groups to actually figure out easter eggs. Some of the Easter eggs people spent over 24hrs trying to solve

Yes the astronaut spawns with a pattern of when/which excavators will come but you can "force" the one you want.
You can escape the astronauts grab by pressing back and pressing A
And I like the BO1 Area 51 with the earth, it was a bug but it spawned the thoughts, are we really on earth? Our Earth?

Everybody on the team could get the hacker device at the same time.
4 players = 4 hackers simultaneously, no problem.
You can use a glitch for everyone to get the hacking device
While this video moves forward off a false notion that me and my friends "faked" being first on Shangri-La (our reaction is genuine excitement after playing the map for 26 hours straight and we never claimed to have been first) this video did a good job of covering the penultimate experience that was Moon and what was for me, the true birth of "First in the World." We were on the frontpage of Twitch while livestreaming this easter egg, and had thousands of people watching along back when that wasn't a thing that ever happened. What a great time this was - there was even an earthquake while I was streaming this day! Sadly, the VOD of that has been gone for a long time.

The difference is, there was a video that was released the day moon came out that had all the steps written out, there wasn't much of a hunt, more just following a guide that someone who had the knowledge of it put out there

Im pretty sure this is wrong. There were a ton of groups in a sort of union back then. We communicated a ton. A lot of jumping into their party and asking "Has this happened in your game yet? No? Ok we are two steps ahead of you." We typically wouldnt share steps until we got stumped on what to do next. Then we would share it with our union to assist with solving the next step. I wish we publically kept record of first to complete steps. Those moments were so satisfying, because you knew everyone else was stuck on it and now was your chance to gain an advantage.
There would be times while the union was stumped someone would be checking online. It wasnt viewed as cheating back then. Because thats how the solving was accomplished. We were competing but also working together. So if someone had posted something either in forums or videos then it was where the entire playing field was at. The one portion of this video very likely was the discovery of that, someone posting a video. I remember catching up with them after this step and people were stuck. So while perhaps 1 step could have been found outside of them. To call him a cheater is providing a perspective that wasnt reality. They worked hard for it and deserve the credit.
Niik has admitted to using a text by text guide in a comment on my previous video. Stakes were not the same but it was a lie none the less, I want to talk to Niik to figure out more information
