Another great video. I am a big Ultra 2 fan, but the 2 stroke definitely has its place. Getting DOT complainant would be huge as well. Keep up the great works HR!
Morimoto sucks, had them on my 2016 Civic and Diode Dynamics just wins in brightness and light width. Everything Morimoto produces seems like meh compared to others.

Regardless of affiliation, all of the testing we do is unbiased. We won't fudge #s or hide behind a screen, we're simply here to show what we find during our own testing in a completely seperate studio from Morimoto's.
I’ve been a GTR Ultra 2 fanatic since I learned they had a lifetime warranty. They over performed! Currently waiting on my warranty replacement now as one of my bulbs failed but hey, I’ve got the SV4’s as a backup till my new Ultra 2’s arrive 😁

I don’t think there is a competition between the two. Ultra 2 takes it all. Lux, adjustability, and raw brightness. Morimoto definitely has the edge in cooling, but light output isn’t enough to compare.
Nice analogy with the kids at the end LMBO 😂😂 I have the Ultra 2 in my new 2023 RAM 2500 love em'!!! I had the dealer reprogram the computer to run the LEDs as the truck came stock with the halogens after swapping to the LEDs the Daytime running light feature wouldn't run properly if i hadn't of done this. Additionally I didn't need the PWM module to compensate for flickering etc
I would love for you guys to compare the best led replacement for the 12-16 Ford Fusion. I had one and those stock projector headlights are atrocious and a hazard. In addition you have to drop the whole bumper. I imagine anyone who owns this would love to know what's best versus going through their own trial and error or relying on subjective reviews
I have 16 fusion. Gtr ultra2 where the best light output and cleanest light. But I had to replace them 3 times in two years. Switched over to 2 stoke 3.0. It’s lasted the longest out of any bulb. Light isn’t as clean as the gtr and they suck in heavy rain
I cannot explain how easy it was to swap my factory halogen bulbs in my accord to the gtrs and Jesus what a complete difference. Never am flashed from oncoming drivers and the beam cutoff is perfect. I had many other brands that I've used and they literally don't come close to the gtrs. Paired with their iled switchbacks it's absolutely amazing at nighttime for visibility
The high beams are gtr ultra series 2.0 as well. It works perfectly. I heard there are brighter options for my accord high beam housing from other led bulb companies but the low beams the gtr ultra series 2.0 is by far the best. I've ran opt7, jdm astar, and auxbeam and there is literally no comparison to the gtrs@@spiderman9321
I wanna see this same test with the Gtr ultra 2 vs a nineo light cannons in the f150. Try that once. I have and I can’t see the difference at all on the wall, come on headlight revolution try it out
Funny thing... I have factory LED lights in my 5th Gen RAM and am endlessly flashed by oncoming drivers. Endlessly! In my 4th Gen RAM, I swapped in the GTRs in the headlights and driving lights. Fantastic bulbs, awesome for where I live (mountains), and I am never flashed by oncoming traffic! Go figure! I won't be swapping my GTRs any time soon, but I'd be really curious if the "yellower" Morimoto bulbs have better performance in the rain.
The bulbs are sitting up higher because it's a truck. Maybe they need to be pitched down a bit. Try re-aiming them. They may not have been aimed when they left the factory.
@mattbowers3541 yeah, they are! If they asked their eye doctor to educate them on the phenomenon, especially as their eyes age, and the fact that for the past 30 years in driving courses its been lost as to teaching where your eyes are to be focused at night... Besides, what would you like me to do about perfectly aligned, FACTORY led lighting?!? Guess what, boys and girls, if you don't like the led glare, especially because of what the mass population is doing to their eyes staring at screens the majority of their waking hours, we all let it happen! The will of the people is how it works in the USA, and the FMVSS could have been forced to adopt E-Code led automotive lighting standards, which have been in place long before US-market vehicles went to leds, and Europeans do not complain about led glare as a result.
Wouldn't be a bad idea for a new updated video, but the Morimoto was the brightest last time we tested with the 3.0 LEDs! ua-cam.com/video/9POvAfxNLc4/v-deo.html
@HeadlightRevolution I saw that. Great video by the way. I was asking because that video is eagles eye point of view. Nice video but I was asking because I wanted to see both of them with the beam pattern and see how dispersed the light is on a 08 to 19 ram 1500. I was gonna buy the gtrs but I saw a 2 stroke 4.0 came out. So now I don't know. But great video I just learned how to align the headlights. It helped a bit.
Ya know, I still have my two pairs of SV4's, and though the Ultra 2's perform a bit better, I'm actually a bit disappointed by the 2Stroke4.0's... I would have thought all that advancement would have resulted in being able to push the array's harder, and generate more light, but I guess not; and its weird, because on flashlight videos, I'm usually the guy commenting about bounceback, and how its getting to a point where flashlights make too much light for their throw and are starting to create more problems than they fix. But higher measured lux for these bulbs means that they aren't JUST brighter, they are able to direct it, to improve the distance vision. Which in turn improves safety. Like, if you can see your headlights reflecting in the eyes of wildlife far enough away, you don't even have to hit the brakes, you can just let off and not spook said wildlife.
Osram and Philips managed to make H7, H4 and H1 retrofit LED bulbs that are street legal for many cars and motorcycles in Germany and other places in Europe but every headlight has to be certified in combination with the new led bulb. And as fas as I know all the Cars these are legal for have reflector headlights. Osram and Philips did not manage to make (universal fitting) led bulbs for projector housings. So it really doesn't seem easy to make bulbs for projector housings.
I have a 19Watt rated H11 fog Light bulb on my Toyota Rav4, I see a 22.5W for the Morimoto and 20.75W for the GTR. Will the higher wattage burn my socket or cause and electrical problem?
We've tested HIDs in the Grand Cherokee, but haven't had a chance to test the new 2stroke 4.0 yet! GTR is usually the brightest, Morimoto will be a close 2nd with a very consistent beam pattern.
Thank y'all for doing the comparison video! Please do videos with these bulbs in a sedan. For example, a Hyundai Sonata GlS instead of a truck for a detailed comparison video :) Do y'all offer free returns if it does not fit the headlight housing with the dust cover?
Was emailing with Briggs today looking for options. The recommendation was these bulbs for high and low beam for a ram 1500 classic. (Quad reflector lens). Will the Morimoto 4.0 fit in the high beam slot while still using the oem dust cover?
We have only verified up to 2020 for F-150, but the 18-20 models do require one PWM Anti-Flicker module per low beam bulb. They did not need the PWM for the high beam.
Projector lenses are indeed better at focusing and shaping light, but the drop in lux is a common occurrence due to how they distribute light. First, projector lenses are designed to create a precise, spread-out beam pattern, often with a sharp cutoff for low beams, which helps prevent glare for oncoming drivers. This design distributes the light more evenly rather than concentrating it in a single spot, which can result in lower lux (the measured brightness in one specific area) even though the beam’s overall quality and spread are significantly improved.
Thanks for the awesome comparison. I been deadlock on choosing between these 2 for my 16 Honda accord Hi Beam 9005. Maybe you guys can test these two bulbs in a 9005 Hi beam 👀 maybe in a Honda 😅😂
My Mazda (2016 6) runs a similar setup with h11 low and 9005 high and have the 2stroke 3.0 in high and ultra 2 in low and interchange it between my parents Toyota sienna (2011) and Honda Accord exl (2017) and it is a little weird in the sienna but great in the accord
Question I have aftermarket Euro headlamps that take a D2H bulbs. Morimoto offers D2H whereas GTR does not. (That I can find) I’ve heard H7 works in place for a D2H but something is different. Is it the LED alignment? Or a figment issue. Thoughts?
For your 2020 Kia Stinger, determining the need for anti-flicker modules with the 2Stroke 4.0 LED bulbs largely depends on how you intend to use the bulbs. If you’re using the LEDs for your fog lights, you likely won’t need anti-flicker modules, as flickering issues are rare in fog light applications. However, if the bulbs are intended for your low or high beams and these beams also function as daytime running lights (DRLs), you may need the modules. DRL circuits often operate at lower voltages than regular beams, which can trigger flickering. Although flickering issues are more common in American brands like Chrysler or Ford, the Stinger could still experience flickering with DRLs, and in that case, a PWM or anti-flicker module would help ensure stable operation.
I wonder which one would make more sense with a Hyundai Santa Cruz that drives in heavy snow in winter? The stock LED headlights are low to the ground almost like fog lights and get easily caked up with ice.
I upgraded from the M2S2.0 to 3.0 in my Wife’s BMW E90 halogen reflectors. The beam pattern was much improved and was very slightly brighter. I feel like 90% of the 4.0 improvements are with the driver and clocking adjustment. Which is good, but the light output looks very much the same. GTR definitely looks brighter, and a bit higher color temp, but not as well controlled. Not an issue with the lights tested here, but I’d bet there will be some that don’t work well. I’d be surprised if they work well on our E90, for example. FWIW I put the M2S3.0 in my 2016 Ford Transit Connect van too, and they work very well with a nice clean cutoff. On both the Ford and BMW I can aim the lows for good down the road illumination without blinding anyone, and the beam pattern is right where it’s supposed to be; that means the high beams are still aimed properly, not too high or low.
Being a E90 Fan ourselves I think it would be worth it to get one in and make a video on that as well. I'll see what I can do to get one in and test a handful of bulbs.
Sir my name is Melvin I got a 2013 Dodge 1500 I need to find out the best ball really bright for you know bright or low beam or high beam and then get back with me send me a link the best one to buy please let me know thank you
I do have a 2014 charger and am planning on having the DRL’s active like stock. Will these be at a lower brightness as the DRL’s like stock or will it be at full power?
To be fair the DOT hasn’t been done much in the way of catching up with technology in … ever so blaming one individual today is no different than blaming whoever was in charge four years ago.
It's funny they mention that the person behind the 2Stroke works on the board of DOT and so the bulbs are designed for being compliant with whatever regulation comes out. I think that may be illegal to do both at the same time.
Well I guess morimoto just fell flat on their face with this infomercial very easy to tell who sponsored this infomercial no matter how you cut the pie the GTR blows away the morimoto I've had these GTRs in my 2005 Ford f150 for over 5 years the only problem I had out of the GTRs with with the flicker system going bad I took that off I have no flicker these are the best lights money can buy yes they're very expensive but it is one of those things do it do it right don't do it again
This video was made at the request of our viewers to compare these two great options. There’s no denying the brightness and performance of the GTR LEDs - they’re a fantastic choice! However, Morimoto bulbs offer their own unique advantages in terms of technology and features. It really comes down to personal preference and what suits your needs best. We appreciate you sharing your experience with the GTRs, and we're glad they’ve worked well for you over the years!

Question
I have aftermarket Euro headlamps that take a D2H bulbs. Morimoto offers D2H whereas GTR does not. (That I can find)
I’ve heard H7 works in place for a D2H but something is different. Is it the LED alignment? Or a figment issue.
Thoughts?
We have not heard that, would definitely stick with D2H in a D2H housing. It'll have the best optics since it's designed for that specific bulb.

Thank you for the reply. Yea that was my thought too. Plus I like that the Morimoto is closer to “compliance”
Do I need anti flickers with 2 stroke 4.0 on a 2020 Kia Stinger? I just purchased them without it.
Might lean towards the 2stroke 4.0 here because of the internal fan circulation, which has been known to help in snow or icy conditions.
Thanks for this video. Very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Do I need anti-flicker in a 2015 ford fusion se
Ford typically doesn't need PWM Anti-Flicker modules, the only exception is if you're replacing a DRL shared with a high beam.
Would these be good in cars too say a Toyota Camry? I see you only used trucks as examples
Yes, we have a video coming soon with installs on Camrys, Civics, etc!
Do they have these in 9003?
Yes they do!

Will GTR fit 2014 Nissan Murano?
If you have OEM Halogen headlights, yes 😁
@@HeadlightRevolution that would be great! I’d like to see options for all the E90 bulbs!
Compliance sucks, GTR is the way to go😎

do you need the anti-flicker mod with the Ultra 2 bulbs?
Depends on the application you're using it in. For MOPAR vehicles, yes. If you're using it for DRL and high beam, also yes.
I do have a 2014 charger and am planning on having the DRL’s active like stock. Will these be at a lower brightness as the DRL’s like stock or will it be at full power?
The only reason they aren't DOT compliant is, well............look at who's in charge of DOT. 🙄
Such a vague and dumb comment. What state are you even talking about and what does it even have to do with this?
@@AimForTheBushes908 you aren't too bright are you?🤡
To be fair US D.O.T. controls rules and regulations not state@@AimForTheBushes908
@@AimForTheBushes908The DOT is a federal agency not state specific
To be fair the DOT hasn’t been done much in the way of catching up with technology in … ever so blaming one individual today is no different than blaming whoever was in charge four years ago.
It's funny they mention that the person behind the 2Stroke works on the board of DOT and so the bulbs are designed for being compliant with whatever regulation comes out.
I think that may be illegal to do both at the same time.
Why would that be illegal, the creator is a *very* passionate professional and hobbyist when it comes to lighting.
The GTRLighting fail after 3 months it’s not worth the money
That's very not typical for the GTR Lighting bulbs! One big reason why they're backed with a lifetime warranty 🙌🏻
gtr 2 are crazy high beams of death and destruction.
