    What's this obsession with trashing on Alex? No one says he's going to beat Djokovic, Alcaraz and Zverev again in a slam; that doesn't negate the fact that he's now top 10 either.

      Pat Rafter said the "kid" is finally getting it. Alex is twenty-four, a grown man, still in the clutches of Hewitt and that Davis cup mentored mindset. If Alex cuts free of the patron Iser's like Rafter and backs himself in, stand on his own feet, he could surprise all of us, he sure has the talent and smarts to win big.

    Alcaraz did not show his 100% performance. But I can say that Alcaraz has problem with his playing patterns. Every player can read his drop shots. And he missed too many volleys just before major competition. It seems very serious.
    De minaur has faster tempo with the new generation forehand.
    The new generations are not dropping their rackets anymore like De Minaur. Forehand is getting simpler as De Minaur swings right away after his unit turn. De Minaur can rank up in this competion for sure.

    30:00 Regarding power in Carlos strokes. I dont think that the power in his strokes is a secret. What I see is good footwork, high ahtleticism, perfect feel and competitive edge. This is coupled with enjoyment in his, he is not forcing it, but enjoying it. Everyone could play his shots, I think I know how he doesn it at least, but its risky, physically though and mentally tough. So basically hes simply a very good tennis player :D
    Just look at him. He simply uses all the levers a human body has, the wrist on top with force, too. Thats the secret. All strokes at the limit. I can do that, but I miss 90% haha

    • @oooodaxteroooo
      @oooodaxteroooo 4 місяці тому

      @@krishnaramachandran7722 yes, but dont be fooled. at least from my understanding of playing the best tennis of my life at 43... heavy comes from topspin. you CAN hit FAST i.e. flat, but you can get a little extra speed using spin, since usually the straight line shot is super risky and sometimes impossible. hence you hit with full force and add spin for safety. you DO see, he combines both into a REALLY quick ball that ALSO has spin!
      of course hitting hard AND adding spin means athleticism. de minaur has spin, too, but its rather weak and JUST for safety, not a weapon. his strokes are very flat and energy conserving. his spin balls look kind of funny technically in comparison.

    • @sandyp1090
      @sandyp1090 4 місяці тому +1

      Why would that be the case? If it's got something to do with 2022 AO, wouldn't you think that other players who play for Australia would also be targeted. I don't see the logic there. The Balkans as you call it would be more interested in supporting a player from their country rather than putting down a player from another country. As for the vax comments, it might just be a case of people having different views on vaccines. Nothing personal against the player, just against the player's comments.

    Looking at Carlos last few months he's absolutely no where near the explosive and dynamic player he was 18 months ago. Now his shots don't have the power or penetration he used to have and he's getting very predictable in his play just going from side to side on the baseline where 18 months ago he would try anything from anywhere. It's understandable to go through a patch like this after got so good when he was so young...but to become great again he needs to go back the old Carlos and quick or he will get dumped out of the AO in the early rounds..

      I think players are understanding more how to play against him now. To be a good player you need to learn how to adapt to playing conditions of your opponents, the greatest of players learn this within the first couple games of a match. I feel Alcaraz still is learning this.

    Every player should have right to play under her/his country's flag. One cannot choose the country of one's birth.
    WTA/ATP/ITF, stop this nonsense and do not mix sport with politics.
    Appointing "flag police" at the previous AO was not even childish... it was embarrassing and insane...
    Wars are run by politicians not sportsmen/sportswomen.
    Why during the invasion of Iraq, 20 year bombing of Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen and Pakistan not to mention the genocidal Vietnam war US, Australian, UK... athletes were allowed to compete under their national flag?
    USA invaded Iraq in 2003 and yet their flag was still allowed at the World Cup 2006 in Germany and 2010 in South Africa despite the fact they were still in Iraq. Either ban ALL flags of countries who go to war, or don't ban any of them.
    Another example; are Israeli (Para-)olympians responsible for the policy of their government towards Palestinians?
