So my Betta did this and I was caught off guard. I did not separate the female though after the fact. The dad bullies the mom to make sure she does not eat his babies. It is very interesting to see.
Yeah, I have learned that way as well. But it’s highly stressful for male. Just remove female once eggs are in bubble.

My betta fish have bred successfully but the bubbles broke and the eggs fell and the Male ate the eggs. What can I do about it
If bubble broke and make is not creating again, could be water parameters issue. Check this video if not already.

Once all fry are free swimming, you are good to remove male. Usually it’s 1-2 days of fry hatch.
