Not saying maxcatch are high end. I have one myself. First fly rod i bought, could not justify $100s on something i did not know if i was going to like.
The "problem" with graphite is even cheap graphite is very high tech compared to days gone by. Light graphite is not made to take shock loads, when snaged and you pull a hook set it can and will snap fishing rods. Its a trade for duribilty for sensitivity. I grew up and spent a huge amount of my childhood and adult life with the person that built and branded the first graphite rods in the world.

A way to fix the problem with the rings on the reel seat is to get a rubber O-ring and put it between the rings to keep them from sticking it works for me and it should work for you

For those who want to compare this rod to a high end rod:
Materials, finish, weight are completely different. I have both and would never go back to my first cheap rod. Your line has a better longevity when you use it on a high quality rod. The balance and sensitivity during casting and fights are much much better on a high end rod.
A high end rod will be more versatile at any cast range. Cheap rods won't be good at short, mid and long range in same time.
Another important point is that you get a lifetime guarantee. If you break it in 30 years (whatever the reason is), you get a brand new one. If the model is not in production you get the new generation.
A cheap rod is perfect if you want to try fly fishing and see if you like it. But if you like fly fishing, you will sooner than later want to upgrade to a better rod. A better rod will met your expectations at every stage of your progress.
For beginners who want to progress, keep their rod for life without having to change their rod after 1 year or 2 and without breaking their budget, I would prefer to start with an Orvis Clearwater 9' #5 or #6 or even better, a Fenwick Aetos 9' #5 or #6. Those rods are considered as low price rods with a lifetime guarantee and are always standing in the top 10 rods among the best high priced rods in reviews. Power 5 and 6 are great all around rods for trouts to bass or small pikes. But if you really want to go for trouts #5 would be better than #6.
(Sorry for my bad English but it's not my first language).

I have the extrem 10' 8# that is strong as mule I'm use it for boat fishing because I don't like my very expensive rods to get snapped of as boat fishing take it's on the rod. I use my 8# whit heavy sinking lines and it do double hauls very well!
And the precision is good it's a fast action short stroke rod ! The extrem is high module carbon IM7 and the premier is IM8 carbon what do that affect our casting. I say very little! It's one more layer of carbon and less binding glue that's the difference. I will buy more extrem and premier rods because that price cant be beaten! About the looking rings at the reel seat who get stuck as he says ! You got to unlock the rear ring first to undo the main ring that hold the reel. I say they work as they should and they hold the reel well. Best regards from Sweden Scandinavia 🇸🇪

I don't think it's fair to expect durability from a 4 weight. I'm just saying if you are worried about the sensitivity of a 4 wt, I would step up to a 5 or 6. I'm a noob, but everyone I have talked to recomends a 5/6 for trout, with 6 being the go between got trout and bass

I've fly fished trout for years with the same cabelas 3wt and never had any issues. If your going bass I'd run 5wt. Salmon or steelhead I'd go 8wt. Good luck out there.

I agree whit a 4# is a sensitive rod for small fish as target !
And the tip should be sensitive and light for sure ! If you snagged up don't pull that of whit the rod pull the line instead. You snapp the expensive rods even more as they are thinner in materials! I use those rods for my boat fishing for pike salmon sea runs brown and trout. Never have any issues and I'm 99% happy whit those rods 35-69$ is so cheap and if they would brake it's just buy a new rod. And my rods had 5 year warranty and after that I get 50% if I'm buy a new tip or so.
That's freaking awesome deal. The action is stiff short stroke! And 1 line size up do help the rod shooting better !
Best regards from Sweden Scandinavia 🇸🇪

.... they are separate rings.. not one.. if you use one ring at a time,,it will work better..perhaps before you upload a video.. do your homeowrk.. once you are on the net..and you look foolish this way.. it never goes away.. even if you delete the video

Amazon, wish, and their website can be used to purchase one. Amazon and wish were around the same price for the v nymph rod I just ordered (with shipping) but I ordered a bunch of other stuff and wish allows you to split the bill up for two months so that's who I went with.
