No, this is a special edition arc, on a story arc much further down in the novel. Season 6 story is around chapter 400-500 in the novel. This special season covers the novel chapter 2377-2400 or so. No idea why they skipped everything in between and cut to an arc so far into the story. That's why nothing make sense if you just watched season 1-6. At this stage of the story, Mofan is already one of the strongest mages in the teenager age group, whereas in Season 6, he is just a student.

@@kennyCKin 不止1500吧。第六季动画大概还在500章的内容。这都已经跳到红魔一秋篇了，大概是小说的2300-2400章。跳得够莫名其妙的。明明第七季的古都浩劫篇就是整部小说的一大高潮，不好好做，反而跳到莫名其妙的红魔一秋篇，也不知道制作组在想什么。
