I've always wished they would do an XT6-V/Black wing to rival the Alfa Romeo, the BMW X5/X6-M, the Audi RSQ8, and the Mercedes AMG vehicles in this class. Give the XT6 atleast an extra 200HP bump! Make it 500+HP. I wouldn't mind a Hybrid engine in it either!
@ph00ny1 I disagree. It's not too difficult to make it amazing. Think Audi/VW/Porsche they share platforms with their suvs and they are all dramatically different on the road. The Macan esp in the GTS or Turbo (I had a 2015 Turbo and it was absolutely amazing). Point is air ride makes the difference nowadays because a sport mode would tighten everything up. Also lower itself on the highway for better mpgs, even if only slightly. Air ride, extra hp. Cadillac to me, at least in the XT6, they absolutely do not do enough to make it what it could be. Is it nice, yeah, but its not that nice. The seats need to be better or at least an option for better seats. They're comfy, but not plush comfortable. Also updated seat adjustments. Better screen in the middle although for how basic it looks, its surprisingly better than one would think. Either way it has a good presence on the riad but its a super floaty vehicle. Nonetheless nice.
We just purchased a 2024 XT6 Sport with the V6 and we love it! We have almost everything on it except the self-driving option. It’s comfortable, love the controls layout, and especially love that there are buttons for things I use often, rather than having to do everything through a video screen. However, with all that being said, i would like a higher performance version, much like you described in the video. I have owned both a Jeep Trackhawk and the SRT Hellcat Durango, and the power and sound of those vehicles was great, but the creature comforts didn’t compare to those in the XT6. Not to mention, those performance vehicles are no longer being made. If anyone from Cadillac is reading this, BUILD THE XT6 BLACKWING!!!! We will buy it! Also, we DO NOT want electric versions. We want good ol’ American muscle under the hood and a look and exhaust system that lets people know our SUV means business!
Sam it’s funny you bring this up I was in my buddy garage having beers 3 yrs ago and he works for Cadillac. So I’m looking at his wife’s car and she drives that XT 6 and I said to him , they should redesign the exterior interior of that car and put a V8 in it. He looked at me like I was crazy he said we have V sedans Cadillac won’t do that, we’ll they just did a Escalade in a V let’s see what happens . Hey great video 😊
This would be an amazing car with the V8. I’d like this over the Escalade V. Not a fan of the styling and size of the Escalade but this would have my attention. Even if they put in a V6 with say maybe 440hp would be a decent package.
I started selling Cadillacs and it’s the first thing I thought. Heavy interior redesign and power train change is needed. They are redesigning the xt4 with a similar Escalade interior.
I bought a dark moon blue 2020 cadillac xt6 sport and then turbocharged it with built motor and transmission the pistons, rods, valves, cams, manifold, were custom made the kit itself was 25k total now making 655 hp to the crank and 508whp with awd and forged supension, 6 piston brembo brakes with larger rotors. I beat my homies 2023 lamborghini urus, but i dont drive it out in the road too much
Yes it would sell like hotcakes, but then people in Ontario would all have the same color & styling and GM only offer 4 colors (silver isn't considered a color). Good review and points well taken. I'm on the hunt for my salesman in Ottawa a new vehicle of status being a metal finishing shop (Black Chrome & now high demand for Copper & Anodizing parts for OEM) & for Costco items in British Columbia. Now I'm down alphabetically to Honda Pilot.
Yes it would sell very well. Given that Cadillac is already working on an XT6-sized EV, I don't see them investing much more in prolonging the shelf life of the XT6. FWIW, I have a 2020 XT6 Sport and love it. I would be sorely tempted by an XT6-V that had something around 400 hp and could be had ~$80k.
Good stuff Sam, a proper performance 3 row SUV in mid size dimensions would be lights out, but at the price, I'd probably opt for a off lease Denali Yukon (12:56 in the video) it just has more presence for equal dollars (gently used of course)
Highly doubt V variant will come for the XT4/5/6 since these are based on corporate FWD crossover platform. What they should have done was make their crossover on the alpha chassis Also it looks like they're doing interior overhaul to match the newer design. This should really help
I think engine-wise the XT6-V should mirror the old but good turbocharged 2014 XTS-VSport at 420hp... I mean the xt6 engine is almost the same as the base xts Is baffling that the new V branding is below the former Vsport models
This is front wheel drive vehicle. The only engine that was designed for FWD was the old 3.6TT that’s was used in the XTSV-sport. It’s possible the 3.0TT can be reconfigured. GM is clueless
you know. I like everything about the Cadillac brand. especially the exterior design. and the interior. not sure about the fit and finish of the interior how tight and solid it is. but I will assume since it's a Luxury probably is very good. the only thing that I'm sure this brand name and GM, in general, have done such an excellent job of earning. their power train is unreliable. one of my friends at work owns a 2014 OR 2015 Cadillac XTS. around 87 K miles on it needed significant engine repair followed by the transmission !! regardless of how awesome these Vehicles look. but they will kill you repairing them. the American engineers are obsessed with the germans even when it comes to nonsense failed engineering. they don't mind copying it !! I wish they learn something from Toyota OR better from Lexus.
@@ULSB1969 yes, if you own a business or know someone who does it can benefit hugely. The down payment you put could easily be lost to depreciation. When the lease is up, you’re not on the hook for any possible negative equity, but you can buy your lease at the end and resell it if it’s profitable. Best part is you get a new model every few years. Made $10k doing this on the last three year lease I did for my wife’s vehicle.
@@jayk.2276 these are not work vehicles, why would you lease for your business? You also put a down payment on a lease, and it will be lost. Worst thing is you get to keep paying payments on a new vehicle. I made more money not paying $500 a month in the last 2 years that i haven’t had a payment. Honda or Toyota is the way to go on the long run.
looks like a cadillac version of the Traverse/ Acadia. I hope GM fixes the pos weak 3.6L, cause who wants a WEAKER POS 230hp 4 popper in a premium 3 ROW SUV? 310hp out of the 6 is pretty weak compared to the competition. whatever happened to cadillac giving the germans the middle finger in the HP dept? COME ON.

Wouldn't rival anything since it's still based on GM corporate fwd based crossover platform.

Damn for a moment I thought Cadillac was making an XT6-V. I'm sure that V thumbnail will get you lots of views Sam! You sure fooled me!

Would you buy the XT6-V?
Yes, but with the ct4 v blackwing ttv6 engine.
Yes!
XT4 V would be so good
That too
They can do this in V trim. They’ve used the 3.6tt V6 in transverse/FWD applications before in the XTS V-Sport.
I think so, the V8 would he hard

@@F80mthree they should use the TT 3.6 V6 from the CT4V Blackwing. 472hp.
Or maybe the twin turbo v6 that cts v had would of been a good performance choice.
I always imagined this caddy❤.

i just bought a 2023 xt6 sport. wish it was a v8 but i may just put a twin turbo and air bag suspension in my ct6.
I’ve been dreaming of a XT6 V !!!! hopefully in the next few years
Saving up for the Escalade V but if they do a XT6-V with the blackwing engine my moneys spent 💀

Wish someone would even make a body kit for this now! I’d be happy with that
100% agree with a tweaked Ct5V power train.

The 2019 ATS V with the 3.6 twin turbo puts out 464hp, why wouldn’t that be a better engine choice? More power than what you mentioned!
Never thought of it
Escalade V alternative

Agreed. That being said, there was an XTS-Vsport and the XTS was on a FWD chassis.
They should put a 6.2 supercharged in it.
I think the Ats-V twin V6 would really put it over the top as a XT6-V. The seats need to be more race inspired.
It's a looker especially all blacked out like this one
best looking but underpower
Cadillac should have kept it either standard or V not add a black wing.

They could always revive the 5.3l fwd engine 😂 hopefully revamp it to work with a 10 spd
Might. As well make everything a V model then xt4v xt5v.
Nice Car 👍🏻
It sure is!
Ughhh you forgot about the Escalade V
Hello, Cadillac....are you listening?!?!?!?
If they do this I'm sure it's going to be CT4 BlackWing drive train TwinTurbo 6
That would be sick
It’s the slim liar to the Escalade v
Why not just put the AT 5 V BW in it

NICE GREAT OVERVIEW OF THIS I AM ALSO BIGFAN ❤
But if you make it more powerful won't people whine about "fuel economy?"
They whine either way lol
Imagine a SUV with the front curb clearance of a Camaro
Sexy as hell
Suvs shouldn't be no more than 48000

I have a 2016 srx, looked at the xt4 xt5 and xt6. Just plain to me. Like blah.
Something spicy would be nice
