Could your do an overall video of how this setup is put together? I drove OTR O/O coast to coast for 15 years, until my health took my CDL, and I've been wanting to build a cockpit sim rig forever now. Was thinking of finding a dash shell, and shifter out of an old FLD sitting in someone's back 40 somewhere to do it, and am always looking for inspiration/tips/tricks.
I'm really sorry to hear about your health. I have a setup tour video here ua-cam.com/video/PmI0VHUsQpY/v-deo.htmlsi=7Fc-5s2LrIk-WcK8 where you can see how everything is put together, with links to all my gear in the description. My top recommendations are to invest in good OLED TVs with stable stands, a solid rig with a comfortable seat, and most importantly, a quality direct drive wheelbase-this really makes or breaks the immersion. I use and highly recommend this one fanatec.com/eu-en/detail/index/sArticle/1896?FAP+Banner&General+Links&a_aid=642e93a817bf2 which can go up to 2500 degrees of rotation. Once you have these basics, you can start adding things like a dash shell or shifter extensions (atsaccessories.com has some great options). Starting with a solid base will save you from needing constant upgrades down the line. I hope this helps, and feel free to ask if you have any more questions! 😊🙌
