Thank you to Robert and Heather for cementing these iconic roles in my mind. Unlike most people I hear, I thought of the 80’s as an unpleasant time. I grew up in the Bronx, Ny and although back then it seemed fun, It wasn’t ideal for kids. Besides playing in the garbage lots, one thing that brought us together were the movies. Everyone watched Freddy, everyone wanted the Freddy glove and hat for Halloween. We would all huddle in front of the VCR and be really afraid, sitting there watching and smelling the movie. For those who don’t know, when a VCR is playing for a while the videotape gets hot, and there’s a smell associated with the warming equipment. It was just all part of the experience. Earlier this year (At a DAYS OF THE DEAD, LV & HorrorConLA) I told Miko Hughes about how Robert Englund couldn't do a sequel, so maybe the best thing they could do for another Nightmare on Elm Street film was a full-on Prequel. They'd probably have to get all footage about what happened before-hand from everything including Freddy's Nightmares, put it ALL in the right order, and fill in what MAY have happened in between. I mentioned Robert Englund should be part of the CASTING process to see which Actor he could pass the torch to (it'd have to be someone younger than him, when he 1st started). I also recommended Mark Swift & Damien Shannon to write it and to just call the prequel...FREDDY KRUEGER.

What a great time to do this interview when it's Halloween season and we're all re-watching the nightmares. I just watched one through five again for the 1000th time in my life and right now currently I'm watching Wes Craven's new nightmare, which is actually the most terrifying in my opinion. The older ones used to scare me to death when I was a little, but the new nightmare is chefs kiss!
I first watched a nightmare on elm street (1984) in the early 1990s as a kid and still to this day think the first 2 were by far the best of all of them. Part 3 ( dream Warriors) was good as well but each installment had something different or a different angle of experience for Freddy and his sharp and killer antics knew no bounds. I would love to see a good story or a solid prequel to what led up to the first movie (1984)
The first movie has some seriously gruesome scenes. I saw it back in the day and was in the 7th grade (12 years old?). I hadn't had boogeyman nightmares for a few years but this movie brought them back for a few months.
The first time I watched nightmare on elm street I was 7 years old at a slumber party….thats y I love horror movies till this day im 44years old now 😂😂😂😂
Me and my friends, were naughty teens watching this film at 13 with my mates older sister who was 15. It terrified me, mostly cos my dreams are really weird, back in 1989
I've been wanting a prequel for years lol. Even though "Freddy's Nightmares" pilot episode did that but I think they could go into more detail and involve some of the characters from the original (as younger versions of themselves). But an animated "Nightmare" I would totally be down for!
Wow I think they should do both and that would be the Rated R animation movie and the prequel of what Freddy was like before he became a tormented soul and when he got 🔥.
I’d love Robert England one more time as being Freddy in a full Freddy movie the one on UA-cam for me was just a tease and it’s was only like 30 some mins and I’m talking where Dylan is a grown adult it was good but wasn’t long enough so plz plz come back as Freddy one more time

Between Freddy's Nightmares and the flashbacks in the films, especially Freddy's Dead, we already have seen the prequel. But, saying that, I'd rather a precule than another sequel since only Robert can play Freddy.
I was thinking the samething about the prequel idea Robert E. was describing. They can do it, but I think Hollywood are afraid that fans wouldn't want to see a human Freddy.
I really really want the studio to do a game like Until Dawn with MoCap of Robert and give us one last hurrah of Freddy through a playable story. Changing paths changing outcomes. Helping people survive their nightmares or watch them die in their dreams. I truly think this is the direction to go before englund is incapable.
WE WANT ROBERT ENGLAND! SOMEONE MAKE THIS HAPPEN THESE ARE TWO ICONIC IDEAS AND WHEN DO YOU EVER SEE A HORROR ANIME ??! MAKE THE ANIME AND THE PREQUEL PLEASE TIME IS RIGHT RIGHT NOW
Robert has to pass the torch, he does needs to do one more movie to pass the torch to another actor like Kevin Bacon. Passing the torch can be an amazing way to keep all the old movies alive and continuing
I'll never understand why there's such a demand for an "A Nightmare on Elm Street" prequel. Why are so many people banging the door down to see Freddy not be Freddy? I want to see Freddy in the dream doing all those weird things he can do that separates him from Jason and Michael Myers. I don't want to see "C.S.I. Springwood" with guest villain Fred Krueger. On top of that, there's nothing left to discover. The other Nightmares have revealed all there is to reveal about Freddy. Just what else do we need to know? How he took his morning coffee?
Sequel to Dream Warriors, set now. Nancy surviving thanks to Kristen's powers and paramedics getting to Nancy in time in the "Group" room, Robert back with makeup like from 1 and 2, Ti West as director, shot on film, no CGI, low key lighting, less stunts for Robert, Lawrence Fishburne back. Come on, make it already! Craven family should settle the rights issue and not expect anything over 300 million tops... Give Robert 6 months to get in shape, give Ti West 50 million for the budget, and make an old style scary serious Nightmare again, like how the first three films were. Freddy mostly in the shadows, silhouetted. Robert is not too old, not with the right script. If he can't shed the gut in six months, have him wear a girdle, because he's the only Freddy, and it's pointless to make another film without him. Freddy is more than just the voice, he's Robert's movements, Robert's stance, Robert's facial expressions, Robert's posture and facial profile. 40th anniversary coming up very soon... how about an announcement of one final Nightmare film. Will make 200 million domestically at least, and over 150 million overseas. It would be eye rolling for them to pass this up. I wonder how much the Craven estate wants? Greed tends to be the case with these rights issues, sadly.
I don't like sharing this publically but haha i actually wrote a screenplay (more like a 3 movie treatment) and Nancy comes back in my movie 2 just how you said! I allow movie 4 to be cannon. Nancy will have kept in touch (under a witness protection program) with Kristen before she died. I wrote a flashback scene, very brief, as Kristen burns in the furnace and relinquishes her power to Alice (telepathically) Kristen tells Nancy something along the lines of "Im sorry." My movie takes place in 1996. 10 years after Dream Warriors & Jason Lives (wink wink) and Tommy & Meghan have a P.I. office. Them and Lisa Webber find Nancy with a different alias and persuade her to come help them and the 96 class of Springwood High (a select group of students) to prevent Freddy from his mastermind plan (which I will not disclose) I just thought that was cool of you to say. I've never seen anyone else say what you said.
Nancy will feel guilt that Kristen wasted her life on Nancy. I have it that Kristen's "shine" dimmed by using her power to save Nancy. Nancy will feel she failed Kristen. That powermove Kristen did started giving Kristen emotional turmoil and her anxiety made her susceptible for Freddy to break through the spirit realm and use Kristen to come back in movie 4. That was my justification
I was in kindergarten when 1&2 were on cable. My parents drove us to my grandparents house who had cable and it was the first rated R movie I had seen. I was hooked! This became my favorite horror series. My 9&11 year old boys could not watch them but my 11 year old daughter started watching them at 6. We also live in our funeral home so maybe she’s not normal 😂
My first horror movie was Elm St. 3. It still is my ultimate Fave. I was 6. Afterwards, something crazy happened. Finished the movie about 10 pm. Around 11:30 pm I heard noises like Freddy’s claws on metal..it kept on for about a half hr. Getting louder and faster. Pulled the blanket over my head asking that Freddy doesn’t get me. Again I was 6, turned out, a drunk guy was trying to sharpen his pocket knife on a metal storm pipe then went down the side of the apartment complex.

The prequel needs to happen I grew up on Freddy as a 82 baby they need to make this story happen
When it comes to using the new tech for Freddy. I wanna a dream involving an Alexa in the house. You could play it not like a dream for awhile.
Robert a true poet and a FUCKING ICON bravo 👏 Freddy is literally on right now
Me and my friends, were naughty teens watching this film at 13 with my mates older sister who was 15.
Freddy's origin film ,I'm buying that ticket w 🍿
Can we please just have one more Nightmare on elm street?
I’d love Robert England one more time as being Freddy in a full Freddy movie the one on UA-cam for me was just a tease and it’s was only like 30 some mins and I’m talking where Dylan is a grown adult it was good but wasn’t long enough so plz plz come back as Freddy one more time
😢😢😢 Robert england please come back u are Freddy and Heather u are nightmare on elm street if we thought Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was a hit man with both iconic stars legends it would be the biggest hit of the decade for sure . The remake was alright but it's no Robert england!!!! I was so excited when I heard rumor about both of them coming back and Robert putting the glove back on I call my mother my sister's in different states I ran and told my mother in law ect and now my dreams shadered or should I say shredded 😢😢. Ur never to h old u are Freddy please please 🙏 both of you make ur die n fans so happy and xome back !!!! 1 2 Freddy's come n for u
Immmmm baaack
For real ❤❤😊
Wild! I actually rewatched New Nightmare yesterday! Busy making an edit video from it.
Yes!! Freddie Prequel would be amazing!!
4:44 Better Call Freddy!
I was five when I saw the first one and I was born in 82. My brothers were watching it late at night and I snuck into the living room and it scared 😅😅😅the crap out of me 😂😂😂
Between Freddy's Nightmares and the flashbacks in the films, especially Freddy's Dead, we already have seen the prequel. But, saying that, I'd rather a precule than another sequel since only Robert can play Freddy.
I was thinking the samething about the prequel idea Robert E. was describing. They can do it, but I think Hollywood are afraid that fans wouldn't want to see a human Freddy.
Freddy vs Jason vs Ash ANIMATED!! JUST DO IT!
$2-million budget ... theatrical release!
Now THIS, this is a great idea.
@@Edz519 YO!!!! YOU HAVE SOMETHING!!!! THAT'S REALLY GOOD!!!!
@@ScarecrowTalks But What Would It Be Like "Animatrix" Or "X-Men 97" Animation Wise...
WE WANT ROBERT ENGLAND! SOMEONE MAKE THIS HAPPEN THESE ARE TWO ICONIC IDEAS AND WHEN DO YOU EVER SEE A HORROR ANIME ??! MAKE THE ANIME AND THE PREQUEL PLEASE TIME IS RIGHT RIGHT NOW
Anime no way so fake freddy real please do new movie prequel
Not that I’m against another Freddy movie but why a prequel? We’ve seen enough of his backstory in all the other films including the final nightmare.
Freddy and Nancy. These two are legends!
One more , Mr Englund. JUST GIVE US one more, sir.
Always think of Tobe Hooper's pilot episode of Freddy's Nightmares being a good uncanon prequel to the film series.
a little bit on the short side though, right? maybe if someone edits that together with the FREDDY'S DEAD flashbacks...
@@Matt_Mosley1983"No more mister nice guy" and "my sister's keeper" episodes could be edited into a decent prequel movie.
This would have been a perfect time in this interview for freddy to appear and drag them away 😂
I wrote a flashback scene, very brief, as Kristen burns in the furnace and relinquishes her power to Alice (telepathically) Kristen tells Nancy something along the lines of "Im sorry." My movie takes place in 1996. 10 years after Dream Warriors & Jason Lives (wink wink) and Tommy & Meghan have a P.I. office. Them and Lisa Webber find Nancy with a different alias and persuade her to come help them and the 96 class of Springwood High (a select group of students) to prevent Freddy from his mastermind plan (which I will not disclose)
I just thought that was cool of you to say.
Gordon from Black Clover would love this description. 😅😅😅😅
It's my favorite scary movie ever. I have loved all of them minus that new one they did. I could really use more of these movies.
This guy asked amazing questions 😂
I'm experiencing major Mandela Effect right now. I won't specifically say why. I'll just say it's a nice surprise to see Robert Englund.
This Freddy Kruger character scared the sh!t out of me in my childhood in the first movie.
ME TOO and on halloween every freddy would follow me I swear !
I was 7 when I first saw it back in 1984 when it first came out
I loved the original....scared the crap out of me. Always had a crush on Heather....still a beautiful looking lady and Robert will always be Freddie, one of the most memorable iconic horror figures right next to Jason and Leather-face.
FREDDY meets PINHEAD...
Now that's a PREQUEL 😁👍🏻
I seen Nightmare on Elm Street at 6, it gave me nightmares for years, but also turned me into a horror film fan for life🙂
Better Call Saul was Freddy's lawyer, Walter White was freddys best friend
