    Thank you Sir your videos are very helpful. I appreciate your time, effort and kindness to teach others what you have learn. In the beginning you had a 17 ft I only have a 22 ft and I'm working on being independence like you and your wife. Thank you and please keep posting these learning videos. You have taught me much of what to do and not to do. I'm grateful.

      That is what it is all about. Helping each other become better and in turn, making the world a better place. Too many people have the take mentality; it is nice to see people with a giving spirit. Even if it is giving their time and a brief glimpse into your experiences on this wonderful earth.

    Another outstanding real life small craft in the tropics video. I stopped boating some 20 years ago but because of your videos, I am considering ordering a new custom 23' foot SteigerCraft Cheasapeake pilot house for next summer and installing a similar air conditioning and refrigerator setup as yours. Thanks you so much for inspiring me!

      The problem you have to watch out for are people on those big boats cutting the autopilot on and going below (which, while illegal as all get out, happens). They'll run you over and won't even know until they hear the thump.

    Some comments to your comments ...
    " Like yachts because have large fuel tanks " (also.they sucks hundred of gallons per hour, so dont think the difference is huge) Only a trawler is the exception, as they are big , slow and moderate fuel usage .
    Let engine cool on idle after long run. Very valid and specially valid on turbodiesel engines as turbos stop spinning at idle and temperature rise a LOT, also the lubrication decrease.
    ON turbo engines ,keep the engine running at idle few minutes after a ride is not a good idea but mandatory on most the brands .

    I have been looking at the Fsh 210 twin engine.Your video’s on the Fsh190 is what got me interested in the boat.You should have gotten a sponsorship from Yamaha.You really proved the reliability of their engine and jet-drive and the issues you brought up about drainage were corrected on later models.Maybe Yamaha was watching your video’s too.

    • @OutOnTheReef
      @OutOnTheReef  5 років тому

      Yes they were, they went to my videos to get answers to some of their problems on drainage so I was glad to help their engineering department.
      And just the engines are very reliable although I have some computer error on mine so that's why I own this new boat that I purchased it had to have a new Yamaha because they are very reliable engines.
      But definitely no sponsorship from them I wasn't the ideal person to represent their boats because I wear a mask. That's my thinking

    • @riverakers
      @riverakers 5 років тому

      A face covering sun and wind shield is a necessity out on the water many boaters wear them and many you tubers on the fishing video’s also never had that as thought at all.Not like you are the Masked Marauder-or something.Keep uploading the video’s.Ever try trolling for grouper over the reefs?I have had good success on the ocean side reefs out of the inlet at Bahia Honda.Maybe the same thing would work in the Bahama’s.

    Another great video Captain! If you don't mind I'd like to see what yours and your loyal watchers opinion is to a total newbie boater question. We are purchasing our first boat and have narrowed the focus to the 23 - 25 foot center console. The burning question is single or twin engine? We plan to cross to the Bahamas frequently. I'd rather get real world opinions versus dealer rhetoric. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    • @OutOnTheReef
      @OutOnTheReef  5 років тому

      Well for that size of a boat you can have twin engines if you like but now the new engines are very reliable especially Yamaha Honda and Suzuki but if you can have two engines will be better instead of having a 300 horsepower single engine is better to have twin 150s it's going to cost more for maintenance but it's giving you a better security at sea .
      Another thing is check with your insurance because the insurance does not cover boats under 26 ft to go out of the country so if you want your insurance to cover I will get in touch with them and ask them, that's a very important thing to check because it might case my boat is not cover in the Bahamas when I'm there my insurance does not cover out of the country travel

      One day I was here at Bimini and there was a boat that did not register they told me if you have an emergency or something happens the authorities going to ask them where were they at and that could be a problem.
      Also another problem is if you don't register in the Bahamas and get your passport stamped when you get back to United States if Coast Guard catches you on radar
      seeing you Living Bahamas they can give you a huge problem.

      Across from the gas station in great harbour cay. If you were facing the water there is a small boat dock directly across from the gas station. If you park your boat the and look up the trail the big house on the right is my mom's house she has a sports bar attached to the front part of the house most tourists goes there for food. I think it closes at 11 or 12 midnight. You're more than welcome to visit. My mom's name is Paula she works on great stirrup cay during the day.

      @@OutOnTheReef it looks a little commercial my man, but that’s what appeals to me. When I was a kid watching the boats come and go out of Dauphin Island, AL, my friends were all watching the sporting boats. My attention was on the pilot boats and shrimpers. I know you have your issues with Parker, but I gotta tell you that one of yours strikes a great looking pose when you do drone footage of it. Defiance may build a great boat, but to me the Parker looks better (no offense to Moose if you’re watching).
