That NC emerald specimen is as good as any standard of world class I've seen. The luster, crystal length, color, tri-crystal positioning, etc. I imagine just a few handfuls of that location pegmatite material around in the world's collections.

The Adams Farm produced some of the best specimens. That one isn't even photographed in The Gems of Hiddenite by Jacobson and Speer!
