Thanks, David. They certainly do, because this figure is clearly not easy to pose. When you consider he's a poacher, being in prone positions makes a lot of sense, there's not much happening on that front with this release. As for the animals, Pork Belly is the stand-out.
Dude, you need to bend his feet down and he will stand awesome! Use the articulation that Hasbro gives you. You have his feet leaning forward so of course he tilts forward.
Yeah I've never had issues with this mold and we've seen it a few times. I mess with Gung-ho quite often and he's good. Maybe I'm just beyond thrilled to get Gnawgahyde already and he at least looks good.
This is the perfect example of why I like GI Joe classified figures, The GNAWGAHYDE figure it's recycle buck from older figures who cares it's what hasbro does. A fair almost of accessories and 2 Animal Companions: Porkbelly and Yobbo! This is the best 3-Pack set of 2024
Hey mate, thanks for the kind words. Between the reuse and the broken pieces (the wrist machete has another stress fracture now and is about to break off), it's pretty average. Sure the boar is cool and the figure has some nice paint apps, but beyond that it's not worth the premium price point imho.
The entire body is reuse of Gung-Ho. Those legs are from roadblock/ Gung Ho and they are horrible for standing and posing. I’m glad to see this review, and the figures were delayed until August. I’m cancelling my preorder and using the 50$ bucks to get more night creeper figures.
@@SharkEyesToyViewOne thing I will say is that I never had an issue getting that figure to stand. The trick is with the feet. You basically tilt them down and use the surface you’re putting them on to flatten them out. Then if need be you can press them down to keep them flush to the surface. My RB and GH figs have never taken a dive, but the feet do require some attention. It can also help to create a slight bend in the knee
@smyers9052 Thanks for the intel. I'll be honest, the Flagg surface isn't easy to pose figures on at times, but this release definitely was one of the more problematic ones on that front.
Good review. Sorry for the QC issues. I’m “supposed” to get my two sets in July but may cancel one for now…..you may have just got a bad set though, who knows with Hasbro though. I had a question, on the new packaging, do they still have the “box art with the numbers” on the side of this new packaging? I buy one to open and one to keep in box and display those in numerical order and like looking at the box art, just hoping they didn’t do away with that!
Thanks for checking it out, Billie. No need for apologies tho, mate. You didn't manufacture or pack it, but I appreciate the sentiment. I have been clear about the fact it may have just been a dodgy set, you nailed it, it's so hard to know. I'll have a look at the packaging when I'm in the man cave tomorrow and come back to you.
When Gnawgahyde was first announced, I was super excited... but the more I see of him, that has dwindled a bit. I will still pick him up, probly, but I'm OK with waiting for awhile now. He looks cool enough at first but the extensive reuse (which we knew about in advance, to be fair) and the qc issues you unfortunately suffered are real bummers. That goddamn monkey tail, oof. 🤨 I'm adamant about having all the Dreadnoks, but he always seemed like an "honorary"/afterthought addition in that crew, to me. 😂 Great informative stuff from you as always!
🎯 nailed it, mate. Definitely wait, because if these issues I experienced are across the release, he's going to be warming shelves soon enough. Thanks as always for the support. Got any glue handy? 😂
I cancelled my pre-order a while back. Too expensive and not a figure that was present during my time with the ARAH line, so nothing I have a personal attachment to....
I was probably a little jacked up on coffee. Apologies. I'm still relatively learning as I'm somewhat new to this game, but I appreciate the feedback and will aim for better dexterity.
if you don't know. a great way to fix the monkeys tail would be to get some thin gushed copper rod from a hobby store a a cheapo hoobu grade pin drill to drill out some small holes for the rod before gluing. using the rod will result in a joint that should be in far superior to the original. in many of the figures I paint for d and d I do this on any joint I don't like the attachment during asembly. it's very easy to do honestly as long as you think through wjat you are going to do before you start. good luck.
Thanks, Bryan. That was a bummer, unfortunately it didn't end there. After recording ended, I was posing the figure when I noticed a piece of the wrist-chete strap just fell off. So that's something also to be mindful of with this release.
Great review as always. Maybe if they would stop putting all these different animals in the package... Then perhaps we could get his correct rifle instead of low light reuse. Overall though I think they still did a good job even though he's a little heavier with reuse.

We're sadly stuck with this mold for the foreseeable future, although I've never really had any issues posing the mold myself... I even got 3 extras to customize Macon, Cole, and Reese into my Marvel Legends Lady Deathstrike Reavers, and they worked nicely. I get mistakes can be made, these are plastic after all, BUT when the quality isn't on point and you're paying a premium for a set such as this, that's just not good enough.
I think the anarchy tattoo on his arm is the same one that was on the original road pig. See instead of giving us that monkey they should have just used the money to retool a new rifle that looks like the original.
Yep, v1 Roadpig has that inked on him. To your second point, you are absolutely spot on. The monkey as cute and comical as it is, serves very little purpose. Would have much preferred a new rifle and they could have done away with the case also.
what may have doomed this figure for me (for now anyway) is that fact that i just got Metalhead from Target for $25. i know if i wait for another two or three months, Gnawgahyde will drop as well.
I'm never one to encourage people to wait for clearance, but in this case if this set is as problematic for others as it were for me, then you definitely should hold out.
Thank you for the great review. I wanted to get this figure but I believe it will be a pass. Or maybe have a custom made. I am disappointed because I really like this character. He is sweet azz bro.
Thanks for watching, Jason. Here's the thing, I may copped a dodgy set. I hope that's the case and these breakage issues don't persist across the release, because if they do, there's going to be a lot more collectors who take a far less reasonable approach to voicing their displeasure with it. Which ultimately will lead to it sitting on store shelves.
The new Packaging is crap they really need to stop listening to the Star Wars team they are clearly not the people you want to be copying The packaging on say Quick Kick or The Technoviper was perfectly fine.. and they only used it for a moment before replacing it with this "blandness" that will get lost on a store shelf. I agree they were a bit to obvious with the reused parts on this one. If I'm buying this it is really just for the boar.
I think you can point your blame on the packaging changes towards the Hasbro higher ups. Cost cutting at its finest. And yeah, the re-use is off the charts with this one unfortunately.
You didn't see me doing that off camera. I should add, the Flagg is raised, so although it's a flat surface it's also not the easiest surface to pose on.

Just fix his feet ffs lol. That's why he won't stand.
You didn't see me doing that off camera. I should add, the Flagg is raised, so although it's a flat surface it's also not the easiest surface to pose on.
@@SharkEyesToyView lol well obviously I didn’t see that off camera lol. I can’t wait to get him. I have a few who’s feet seem to be like in a weird spot on the ratchet
Lol nope. Hopefully your set isn't as problematic as mine was, but you now know what to look out for.
@@SharkEyesToyView I’ve had a head broken off the peg out of box and an arm torn off out of box. So I don’t need anymore booboos lol
@lokiwartooth1138 Yeah man, I get they are toys and shit happens, but still it's not like we are talking about toys that are 30 years old either.
Figure looks loose and floppy AF! Probably why he won’t stand 🤷🏻
Nah he's not loose at all, pretty certain it's the lower that's the issue.
