- From buzzing station to buzzing streets, Dadar is known for its constant hustle and noise. But I went around looking for delicious food on the streets of Dadar station. Dadar is more of an emotion than a pin code for Mumbaikars.
In this video, we delve into the vibrant neighborhood of Dadar Shivaji Park, mostly covering places around Dadar Railway Station in the West.
We started with Ameeri Khaman and Moong Dal Kachori, then the rich Kaju Katli. To savor the authentic Maharashtrian delicacy Vada Pav, we head to Ashok Vada Pav. To conclude our culinary journey we went to a new joint, Ghamandi Lassi from Bhopal. The iconic old food spots in Dadar are not to be missed! Ashok Vadapav is my all time favourite.. Whenever I go to Dadar i make sure I eat Ashok Vadapav.. It's the best Vadapav in Mumbai..

"Sauashtra Farsan" brought back Childhood Memories!!! Nice presentation Alkaji. Your videos of Dadar and Matunga bring back old memories. My family lived in Dadar Parsee Colony (Jam-e-Jamshed Road near five gardens) from 1960 to early 1980s before we immigrated to New York, USA when I was still in my teens. My family including my late mother who passed away few months back in New York City love your You Tube Presentations. Please keep up the good work. I Have two minor requests though; Can you or the food vendors provide details of the quality of the ingredients being used and where they are procured from and the hygienic and sanitary protocols being adhered to by them? I think this is very important from public health perspective. I am in the medical profession, hence this request. Secondly there used to be iconic restaurants, cafes and coffee shops in the 4 buildings encircling Khodadad Circle (empire mahal, empress mahal, shireen mahal and harganga mahal): Dayaram Damodar, Monginis Cake Shop, Farmer Brothers, Punjabi Chandu Halwa, Jyothi Restaurant, Fresh Up and Joshi Budhakaka besides several Irina Cafes. I am not even sure if many of them are still around? Can you please make a you tube presentation of these food joints?
I am happy that you saw this video and were filled with nostalgia. It is difficult to check the quality and hygiene levels when you are having Street food though. Those Irani Cafes have shut down except Cafe Colony. Dayaram Damodar, Punjabi Chandu Halwai, Jyothi and Joshi Budhakaka are still serving their delicacies. I keep having snacks at Damodar and sweets from Joshi Budhakaka often and will try to cover them on my channel. Thank you for suggesting.

शायद आपने ही बताया था इसलिए वहां गई मगर सच में बहुत अच्छी लगी। टेस्ट भी अच्छा था और रेट बाकी जगहों से लगभग आधा।

Hi Alka, as you are aware, I am an ardent fan of yours. In this vlog, though the ameri khamand looked yummy, the paper they provided to eat was a big put-off. You did mention that, since most people take away they do not provide spoon. But that they cannot give the reason. Ashok Vada pav I presume you had tried earlier too. Though it's tasty, price wise it's on a higher side. ( near Kirti college). Kudos to you for sharing interesting places. Regards.

Thank you for highlighting great places mam!! Have been going to Saurashtra farsan for some time, their chutney is unique, evertime get some samosa, gathiya and few packets of unique yellow/green chutney...need to try ashok vada pav...jain sweets etc...

The Samosas were the go to food when i used to Study there back in 2005-2007 and then again 2010. Cheap and convenient. I found that vadapav stall near Kirti college was rude back then.
I used to work near kirti college. Ashok ka vada pav is one of the best vada pav in Mumbai.

Nahi... Portuguese Church ki taraf jo road jata hai waha Jain mandir ke sath jain hospital aur mithai shop dono hai. Famous hai aap us road pe aake kisi bhi shopkeeper ko poochhiye. Mostly sabko pata hai
