Muslimgauze: Chasing the Shadow of Bryn Jones | Short Documentary

- A decade after the death of the provocative and prolific musician known as Muslimgauze, author Ibrahim Khider has come out with a new book that revisits the artist's impact on electronic music and his success in raising awareness about the struggle of the Palestinian people.
➔ Beginning in 1982, after Israel's invasion of Lebanon, the Manchester-born musician's obsession with Middle Eastern conflict began. His music, a mix of industrial, hip-hop, techno, and dubstep, and usually without any lyrics, could never easily be identified for its politics. But his pro-Palestinian beliefs were at the center of his inspiration. As the head of Muslimgauze's first long-term record label recalls about their first meeting, "We didn't talk about music, we talked about politics and the whole situation that brought his music to life."Mixing news broadcast recordings, drum kit beats, pots and pans, and classic instrumentals, Muslimgauze pioneered a new style of music that sounded little like anything else at the time or since.
➔ Cultures of Resistance created a trailer previewing Khider's new book, which celebrates the artist's politically motivated craft.

I wish he was around to see how much influence he is having and growing! Massive! No more lies! The world sees.
This guy's music and message are timeless. Palestine forever.
RIP, 20 years now, today, 14th January.
I first heard Muslimgauze many many years ago, and was totally fascinated by his music. Thank you so much for the video! Must get the book!
Muslimgauze creates powerful music that blends dark, atmospheric beats with Middle Eastern influences. His sound is haunting and immersive, reflecting complex emotions and political themes.
Muslimgauze, such a prominent figure in underground music. I totally respect his crafts, don't know how many tracks have he made throughout his life, thousands maybe. The guy never took a break if you look at his whole discography.
Great video btw, love the editing. 🔥
so ahead of his times 2:52 sounds like some coil or sd laika
dubstep etc etc.. bro got talent and mad vision. RIP genius !
Coil 1982.. both were moved by Morocco burroughs and mysticism... its not this or that it's sonic origins... same cosmic thread lead them..
Any songs recommendation please?
Thank you for this video, can't wait to read the book!

Rad video edit.
I once heard Bryn Jones never left the UK himself.. is it true? Doesn't really matter but I'm curious why he wouldn't have visited the middle east at least once. I'm a fan not a hater just curious.
He said it was because he believed it was wrong to visit an occupied land
I would like to know the name of the tracks too, track list please.

Here you go mans. The song is Marseille 2, hopefully this is the right song you are talking about.
Also, some of his songs Carries a lot of samples from a lot of world music artist like for example Turkish Sword Swallower has a sample of a west Indian flute playing throughout the whole song, which was used from a duo group called the RECYCLER they use this sample for their songs called "Sensi & Foxy" and "Sensi & Foxy (Epiloga)." Have a nice day. ✌

Ironically his music would be and is forbidden there.
You know there is people who listens to music and make music in islamic countries right? it is not forbidden in law but in terms of islam u need to stay away from it as an individual thats it (:
Doesn't make sense. Most of his music doesn't even have lyrics.
