Ahh Final Fantasy XV... the first final fantasy I’ve ever played. I love the story, I love the Choco-Bros.... really wish they incorporated the dlc to be more ingrained in the base story though. However the ending of the game will always stick with me. Despite the problems the company was facing around this time of development, Final Fantasy XV holds a very special place in my heart. Also... I can not hear “Stand By Me” without crying now. Thanks Square for kicking my heart in the feels!
Same I really enjoyed the ride with the bros. I have the same love for the 13 trilogy. It’s not perfect but I enjoyed that game as well. Final Fantasy is really GOAT of Fantasy RPGS!🔥
Its 2021 and im still trying to figure out if i hate xv or love it or if its the best, or worst ff game i've played. I've never been quite so torn about a game.... It has some of my favorite moments in gaming and some of my least favorite things in gaming. I guess im gonna have to play it all over again and attempt to do mostly everything
This ended up being one of my favorite games of all time but I hate it as a final fantasy game. They could have just called the game kingsglaive or something and it would have been awesome.
Well, the series is not quite done, yet. I have about 2-3 more videos planned before I finish off the series, in style. The mainline games are completed, though.
They never showed these beings who created the Astrals strangely but the information on Bahamut suggests he's one of them coming from that same realm as opposed to being created as some personification of the earth's elements like the other Astrals. Bahamut in Dawn of the future tries to destroy Eos and humanity knowing that unlike the other Astrals he won't perish similar to Bhunivelze he pretends to have humanity's best interests while eventually plotting to destroy them because of impurity.
All of you need to know this Nomura was never fired from this project no in fact one of the producers that worked with him said that he was so focused on working on Kingdom Hearts Series, now yes he likely was upset but if i remember correctly he actually praised Tabata and FFXV. so in order to keep Versus XIII going they got Hajime Tabata cause Nomura being way too busy with KH Series so before any of you say that Square Enix screwed Tetsuya Nomura no they did not in fact even with FFXV Nomura was still credited with it's creation despite being vastly different from his original concept of it. in fact Nomura even helped getting Noctis into Dissidia NT and even made art for Noctis for DIssidia NT and is even credited as Character Designer for FFXV and Dissidia NT Characters and if honest Tabata did what he set out to do and that is make a great FF Game and he succeeded in my eyes yes FFXV has some faults but it also has good points cause no game is perfect and will never be but that is what makes a perfect game it's good points and bad points
1:04:55 "Noctis has a rude meet up with the weasel of a chancellor..." I think to myself: That's not biased at all, nope.... 1:12:06 "Noctis prevails strong by defeating the weasel..." Yeah, no, that's totally impartial! Don't feel bad about it, I happen to agree with your chosen nomenclature.
You are very knowledgeable on these games, and the development. This is interesting documentary on the series. I'd be interested in hearing more of your opinion about the games, what you like/dislike etc.. I dunno if that is something you do
FF16 literally got announced as I was finishing up the post-production on this episode, but I wasn't going to mention it, right away. I'll make a mention of it in the final episode because it won't be covered in this retrospective. We still don't have a release date on it at this time.
Wow, now I understand the ending of FFVII remake... apparently, Nomura is using this and KH (after 3) as a way to fulfill his ideas from Versus 13. BTW: I could say Lunafreya is one of the worst characters out of all the FFs... but that would be if she was a character and not an empty puppet.
Unfortunately, that's not on the agenda as I haven't played all of those entries, and a chunk of them have only released exclusively in Japan. I would recommend The Brotherhood of Gaming's UA-cam channel as they have done some pretty incredible Top 10s on the facts about each and every game in the Mothership lineup of titles. I appreciate your suggestion, though! :)
53:21 - Ifrit became evil after Eos (goddess) was killed and desecrated by mankind, he took her body and burned it, starting star scourge. Ifrit and Ardyn are such a bros because they both are vengeful lunatics. Your recollection of the story is Bahamut propaganda lol
So I bought ff15 got the day one version only to later trade it in to get the royal edition. Man that left a sour taste in my mouth. I wanted so bad for ff15 to be a great game all the ingredients are there. Every time I play it though it just feels so poorly put together. Like a big jigsaw puzzle with pieces that don't quite fit together or are just straight up missing. It's so close to being a good game its so frustrating 😫 God if only they hadn't cut out the story.
The anime was a terrible idea. Those moments should have been in the game. It makes no sense to have to see an anime to understand the damn characters.
"When it was under the guise of a games-as-a-service model" those words perfectly personify the stink that eventually came from this poor game. It sucks that Tabata was basically left as a scapegoat by Square Enix [The executives! It also doesn't fall at the feet of Nomura either, like a lot of people seem to claim!] , and even more so that this game ended up a numbered entry, but it goes to show that even our favorite game developer/publisher isn't immune from releasing bad, rushed and flawed games. Oh and Ardyn sucked... Crappy villain with crappy motivations, and a weasel like you said!
I’m gona be honest. I bought and played 15 when it first came out which was also my birthday. Super excited. But quickly lost interest and never picked it up again. And now playing 16, I can def say that I would def be more into both of them if FF went back to a ATB or similar type of game. Instead of continuing to refine and develop more and interesting ways to make turned based games fun for their mainline numbered games, they’re making so-so action games which is not what I or many others are looking for. I’m all for trying new things and wanting to change things up. At the moment I really like 16’s story and see this as a good sign at least on that front. It’s way better than 13’s nonsense story. But to totally discard turned based and rich party members with single party action games… it’s just disappointing.
It's surprising that u mentioned that the music in XV was a "standout" for the game and for XIII TRILOGY u only mentioned the composers and hardly any praise to the sounds of those games lol, np. Though I'd have to say XV music was lost and mostly underwhelming in the game mostly becaz u had the option to listen to other music of the past games. The few standouts for XV was the Somnus and leviathan OSTs while the Stand By Me rendition was also great but it was only a intro song. I honestly can't remember any other OSTs for the game becaz they're truly forgetful. On the other hand, XIII music was greatly loved, even by the unnecessary haters. Hamauzu really went into atmosphere, emotions, action and all sorts of characteristics with the sounds for XIII TRILOGY. So even tho is disliked by oddly alot of people still, they can't without sounding disingenuous say they hate the music.

Yessssss. Been having a bad week, but this makes it all better. Looking forward to your quality work!

Did you ever do that second playthrough? I'm currently on mine. Still don't know how I truly feel about it.
This ended up being one of my favorite games of all time but I hate it as a final fantasy game. They could have just called the game kingsglaive or something and it would have been awesome.
@@fishingwithspencie or, I suppose they could have called it something like FF versus xiii
Really glad you are still doing these and I hope you don't give up, I will check this out after work.
the quality of your retrospectives are extremly high thx for creating such amazing content ❤
This is the best retrospective series on youtube when it comes to the Final Fantasy Series. Even better than Gametrailers one that i loved so much.
Been going through watching these recently. You’re extremely underrated in the ff space
Why the hell do you only have 4k subscribers?? You're out here giving us free movies
i realize Im kinda off topic but do anyone know a good site to watch new movies online ?
@Cristian Joaquin try FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
Because the dude uses words like ambidextrous when he means to say ambiguous.

Hey! Good to see you finally got part 12 up! I remember all the time you put into this and it's great to see the final product.
Been waiting for this. Thank you for your hard work!
Wow, gongrats on finishing the series! I'll be wathing this later this evening.
Well, the series is not quite done, yet. I have about 2-3 more videos planned before I finish off the series, in style. The mainline games are completed, though.
Damn this was one hell of a retrospective series
Oh snap, this was a pleasant surprise. Didnt think we'd get any more of these.
Best retrospective video for ffxv
So much passion.
.
When I saw the newest episode, I had to marathon.
.
Fantastic work.
.
Fantastic retrospective mate always well done good sir
Great video as always. But what are your plans once you finish the final fantasy series?
I have an idea, but can't really share any details, right now.
You deserve lots of views for your work
Thanks for helping me through this week, podcasts were getting boring. Love the series man, cant wait to see what else you do
He lives!
As things stand now, not a bad installment at all. A pity that it took 12 years to get there
Really enjoying your Final Fantasy content, hope you get more subscribers.
Thank you
Excellent video

I enjoyed running around the world way more than the story loved this game
Here is hope, that FF 16 ends up been a really good game.
With a good Story, characters and gameplay.
Seeing as how Naoki Yoshida is the producer of that game, I wouldn't put it past him as he knows how to make quality games.
@@rrpgreviews indeed

Good vid. Very informative. Now I know why Noct’s base clothes are so terrible
Excellent stuff

Your channel is so underrated. How do you only have 4k subs?
Good question
I know it been a while but, you should do a two cents video on Balan Wonderworld and how it might be yuji naka’s last game
look i REAAALLLLY HATE being mean but how are ya still at 4.3 thousand subs?
P.S ur vids are pretty good!

Ah yes, Final Fantasy Backstreet Boys.

I thought what's her name lied about Adrian not being king in the dlc??? And he was never ousted by the astrals just becam a dbag
