Me: 'What the hell are you?!'
'I'm sorry, my responses are limited, you must ask the right questions.'
Me: 'Errm where's the tuna?'
'That, shopper, is the right question.'
+Drake Sigar I robot, am i right?
+A. Mortem That is correct.
+A. Mortem yeahhhh
LMAO. You sir, won the Internet for today. Now take your cookie and go.
+Drake Sigar and then they just disappear without even answering the damn question! D:
The jobless economy is on its way.
FUCK YEAH!!! xD
+Isaiah Yoder Welcome to starvation land.
We will soon no longer have jobs, the only job we could get is UA-cam and dA
+Isaiah Yoder You do realize WalMart hired her for that video right? If anything that would be another job.
MrApotator They hired one person to replace how many thousands of Wal-Mart greeters?
God forbid they hire an actual person.
+Paradise I mean they hired her to do the video recording...and she is much nicer than 95% of the people who would apply at Walmart anyway
+Paradise Just to stand there all day and creep people out?
THIS IS IT. VIDEO RECORDINGS AND AI ARE TALKING OVER OUR JOBS. WAKE UP AMURCA
+Paradise That first line would be a lot weirder if it were an actual person.
+Señor Tomas Jobs were also created to make this new invention.
It's all fun and games until someone pushes over the standee and then it's just some ghost woman talking to herself.
lol
+youtubasoarus Then, it's hilarious.
Haha! True
+youtubasoarus Hologram lives matter # # # #
you misspelled your name, Youtubasaurus.
This is the most necessary thing of all the necessary things.
+The Hoax Hotel yes
+The Hoax Hotel hi hoax :) didnt know you watched boogie
+The Hoax Hotel Tell that to old lady Rosa who's sitting at home without a job right now. lol
+iLLexian Because people totally stand there repeating the same "information" to people over and over anyway.
Would not seem out of place in Blade Runner.
+Reid Wicks Ridley Scott is a fucking genius !!!
+Pink Town Eleven Same here! Brilliant film and book too.

Oh god it's happening. The machines have already won. Resistance is futile.
I for one welcome our -insect- digital overlords
+spartawar117 You call that a machine? It's a talking cardboard.
foufoufun0
....
+Cubic Studios. Well I don't. Also a holographic piece of cardboard can be easily defeated by pushing it onto the ground.
+spartawar117 Genisys is skynet
Fuck this, I'm out.
Ok, bye!
Have fun with the free nightmares
Fuck that shit coz I ain't the one
+Eddiethenotsogreat Man walmart got a guy with a pentagram for a profile picture to leave!
+Eddiethenotsogreat When the Satanist is out, you know it's time to bail boys.
*gasp* You are using a Walmart other than the Joyce one now? I thought we had something special.
+boogie2988 Where you be
Boogie what are you doing
+Shotty I don't like the 'remodel' of Pleasant Grove. Not enough checkers and too many self checkout (which is fine but not when tons of people not knowing how to do it correctly hehe) and seemed only 2 of those self-checkouts were for 'full carts'.
+AtmaVegeta I haven't been to that Walmart yet.. I'll have to check it out. I've only gone to the MLK and Joyce one.
+AtmaVegeta where i live they have 45 check outs and only 4 people working them when the store's packed. and they have 12 self check outs with only 4 open.
but we don't have any holograms..
Just in time for Halloween! 3Spooky5Me!
+CriteriaGamer yep
+CriteriaGamer >Can't spell out "too spooky for me". >Puts 3 and 5.
+Bunyan Mc Dingle Berries Only if you start capitalizing your "I' when you create a sentence.
+Rotten Begotten That's the point. Welcome to the internet...
***** Nah. That's just being uneducated.
A win-win for Wal-Mart! No health insurance or unionization worries here...
TheSpazModic That's what I thought also, more lost jobs.
+joel phillips lets actively hinder technology to keep unneeded jobs around? I don't think you understand how technology works. Its the same logic as "lets stop developing cars, what about all those poor horse and cart drivers and manufactures?". before bringing up that argument you need to disregard every bit of technology you have because someone lost their livelihood due to new tech at some point in history.
+TheSpazModic yahhh no
Togutas Everything you said is perfectly valid. But...we have to acknowledge that there will always be people who, for whatever reasons, have limited skills or abilities. They will never be tech savvy, and they need work NOW.
I personally don't care if that costs rich Uncle Winston $1 per share, or costs me $ .10 per item.
I get that, although i think invoking this image of rich share holder is a rather low blow. Why not use a small business owner trying to optimize every penny as an example? I mean I wouldn't because thats picking out very specific example and trying to frame it like it acts as solid evidence to a universal statement.
I sort of get you on the unskilled workers thing but again, its an appeal to emotion and isnt practical. The poor of previous times could barely read and write, its like you are suggesting that unskilled people just stay at the same base level intelligence when tech advances. I think the problem of unskilled individuals being out of jobs is entirely down to how awful education is. It used to be the case that non-acedemic would never be incentivised to go to higher education but with this 'no man left behined' mentality, you just end up keeping people in education who dont want to be there. I know about half the people on my university course shouldnt be in higher education and definitely shouldnt have advanced past the first year. This isn't a superiority thing, its the idea that these kids are told they absolutely must go to University and end up failing or getting a low grade and leaving with a huge debt and a useless skill. It absolutely sucks that this is the case.
Instead, I think things like mechanical colleges and the like should really be promoted more for students who really dont like education. I know plenty of people from poorer areas who were never acedemic throughout secondary school, went to do 1-2 year engineering/bricklaying/building etc course for free, and ended up with a relatively decent paying job and far happier than they ever were. These not typically 'hard' but extremely necessary jobs should really be promoted more to younger children disenfranchised with education.
If however, you are talking about severely mentally disabled people, you do indeed have a point. This is why its extremely important to support inititaves that either donate money to charities that help support the severely disabled or programs that attempt to find a place in society for these people to fit in. This is why i dont get the appeal to emotion argument, if you think its such a problem then do your part on helping stop it. I do a little bit of helping out when i can in university but i know that when I have a job or am retired, I will devote my efforts this type of charity work.
Finally, whos to say what the effect of these mechanization of these customer facing or basic manual labor fields will have on the unskilled? People will adapt, they have for all of history, in what way i do not know and to say whether unemployment will rise or fall as a result is a complete shot in the dark. If we do find a massive shortage of jobs, people will need to adapt to learn new, more relevant skills and those in higher socioeconomic standing should do there part in actively helping people in worse of situations, not be giving money to some bullshit corrupt charity, but through education and teaching and doing what they can to make sure there is a place for everyone. It is ridiculous however to say that we should hold back technology to prevent job loss when its in the interest of most of people in society. People will adapt, learn something new if other people help them too. So if you really feel like this is an issue, dont blame the people actively trying to improve society, technology, the market or anything like that. Get up and help people you think will be effected if you are in a position to do so. Its what Im planning on doing.
Someone is going to steal that thing and use it for......science yeah science.
YEAH SCIENCE BITCH
lmao
You're probably already on it oni!
WHY THEY GOTTA BE THIS WAY
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SHOPPING FOR DECADES
WHY DO WE NEED A NON HUMAN TO "HELP" US
+Marissa L Millenia ftfy
+Marissa L Walmart family needs more pools and cars and houses. To get that someone must be poor and starving, welcome to the future.
because humanity is lazy. besides this is good, imagine the future no more waiting for bad employees. besides more jobs will be open to manufacturing these.
+Inda Kularia
No, if robots become more common then robots will just manufacture more robots. Humans wouldn't need to do those jobs
General Shamic you sure? Humans will still need to watch over these robots meaning jobs will be available. Besides when we start to fully go to space (and hopefully start colonizing planets) jobs will be made.
Round up an angry mob and rush the store in masks and destroy the evil witch craft!
+ⓈⒶⓇⒾⓃⒶ ⓃⒶⓃⒶⓃⒶⓃⒶ Jam!
Insolence!
+ⓈⒶⓇⒾⓃⒶ ⓃⒶⓃⒶⓃⒶⓃⒶ Technology defeated with one bottle of coke!
the weirdness is real. welcome to 2015, people. #Kappa
Don't you mean bye 2015 welcome 2016
+DBZWii09 Funny thing is, we were able to make this before 2015. This is 2012 technology, stores just have not been using it since then.
+DBZWii09 Even weirder are furries.
That's just the low budget Arkansas model. You should see the T-101 model they use in California.
Dammit this is creeping me the hell out. YOU EVEN KNOW ABOUT THESE THINGS?
LOL
I was waiting for Boogie to go "What the fuck" at the end. lmao.
Over here in the UK I first saw one of these in a hospital around a year ago.
Where can I get one that talks dirty?
British version of this hologram:
"Take a bag as you go..."
*takes bag*
"You did not pay 5p for your bag..." *eyes glow red and begins shooting lasers*
Indicating you can take it 😏😏😏
You legit comment on every video
+Wizzy lol so true
+DavidParody DUDE you are literally everywhere its so cool
+Wizzy LITERALLY every video on youtube man lol its so cool very social k so let me tell you where i found him before: Toboscus,ChadwithaJ, niggahigga, Wolfieraps, Pewdiepie, Markiplier, Cyndago Dashie, AND A TON OF OTHERS LOL
+SnipeD312 but how does he do that like i think i just share common interests with him lol
It really bugs me that the cutout isnt lined up right to match her movements. Either she moved where she wasnt supposed to, or they put the video in the wrong spot.
Skynet is off to a terrifying start with it's T1 model terminator.
I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
Just me that was expecting Boogie to say something like, "You son of a bitch" at the end? xD
+Jennifer Lawrence Is My Life No! lol
+Jennifer Lawrence Is My Life Just you.
+I am in your mirrors mate "No! lol"...clearly just me :/
+Jennifer Lawrence Is My Life Just you.
Hearty Oatmeal Reevaluate your life please
i've seen these in airports, explaining how to carry on bags, get thru security, etc.
walmart is making smart moves now they dont need door greeters lol
This isn't new technology though, there were displays like this at SXSW four years ago.
+TastefullyOffensive.com I think in this case it's "new" in the sense that for the average consumer it's new.
Example; as a 3D student I had access to 3D printers years and years ago, but they recently became popular (About 2-3 years ago) and people started calling them new. I was several years experienced with them by that point.
+Ryan “Seffyr” Rhind Ohhh ohhh ohh guys guys cricle around!!!!
He has experience! Several years of... NOBODY GIVES A FUCK.
yep,and that will never go away..ever,eveyones different though
They Took 'Er Jerbs!!!!!!!
Leeds Train Station in UK has these on the platforms, the really creepy thing is one points out across the tracks and occasionally beckons to you with her hand when you're stood on the opposite side.
I always thought that human interaction when buying things was silly. Think about when you go to a fast food restaurant, do you really need someone taking your order? Why can't you just select what you want, and wait for the food to arrive? or at a real restaurant, do we really need a waiter/waitress? Why can't we just select what we want, and then walk over to the counter to pick up the food? Same applies at Walmart, for example do you need someone checking you out, or helping you when you shop on Amazon? If the answer is no, then why do we need people to assist us at Walmart? I can easily put my groceries in a bag and scan them myself.
Under 301 mom get the camera!
I like how the person in the end is saying you can't video. I wonder why... is Walmart hiding something?
+Jdevy They use human souls in each of those walmart tombstone.
That they are horrible. I worked at one for a month. Managers are asshole, and the training videos are so passive aggressive toward unions it's sickening. Not once did i feel I could talk to my supervisor... (Supervisors? It was a mess) about anything. They make you turn off cell phones and place them on the desk in front of you for orientation... Probably so you pay attention AND don't record their god off show of how negative u ions would be to the stellar work environment of Walmart that must be maintained.
This is for a Scan an Go...I think that your scanning something and a light or something will show OK and start blinking indicating that you can take the item you scanned. Still freaky as hell.
Haha now it makes sense. :))
"Begin blinking, indicating that you can take it" is the new "Bite the pillow."
Now if only we can make it walk, I'll re-program it to look like a crazy homeless man attacking you. People will drop their coffee's in the mornings that's for sure.
$15/hr, meet your replacement.
The best part is Walmart doesn't have to pay her minimum wage anymore since they used this to replace her job.
They have one of these at my train station, reminding people not to leave bags unattended and to make sure that they are on the right platform.
Damn, and I thought my ex was flat chested.
will there be gay male versions?
Too rad to be sad thats not nice
Ugh, you're fucking cringe worthy, get the fuck out of here!
+Alex Vargas Nope ☺
It's a hologram. Sexual preference doesn't matter. Unless you wanna fuck it or something.
+Peter Martin Yes, there will also be furry ones, transgender ones, midget ones, trans racial ones, obese ones, and giraffe ones.
At least she is pretty :)
+Licking Guy Just watched your new video..wow..epic bruh
+Licking Guy Love your videos LG
+Licking Guy yeah, but you can't lick her
I've seen one of these in an airport before the security section. All they are is a person recording themselves projected upon a background shaped like a person.
Witchcraft
"Ok, and begin blinking... indicating that you can take it."
*Smiles*
Oh yeussss
Why didn't you show the lower part of it, It would of been nice to see if it was being done with an extreme angle projector or is it an actual lcd screen
That's just plain creepy/annoying. Walmart owes you an apology.
Tom Cruise is about to walk past with someone else's eyes in his head...
sooner or later old retired people who are door greeters are going to be replaced by Pam the greeting cardboard cut out.
I saw one of these at an airport. I do not remember what city it was, but it was during a layover. Freaked me out.
From now on all my Walmart trips will start by asking a store associate, Do you have any plastic bags for my journey?
Spirit Halloween has a disk where you can use a projector to have living animated pumpkins and ghosts like this.
OK... that is creepy as fuck
That cut out is more friendly, attractive, understandable and useful than most of the employees I have run across if you can actually find them.
"Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated"
This would've been so funny if Francis said one of his classic "holy shit...."
i've seen those pop up in different types of stores, as well as a few clinics programmed to discuss health related topics
i saw the same Apparatus at the airport explaining the rules for carry ons
This is just one of those things that goes straight down the uncanny valley.
It's like something I'd see in IRobot.
I would like to know where here turn on/off button is?
The scary thing here is how early the're selling halloween merch...
I work as an unloader and the halloween decorations came in back in mid august
what has society come to...
+CrazyGuyFilms ive seen xmas decorations in September and easter eggs in January its quite standard
+CrazyGuyFilms Halloween is 21 days from now. Where is the good in decorating a lawn for about 5 days then having to take it all down?
Well, here in Australia, halloween isn't such a big deal, so we might have a pumpkin decoration or 2 out...
There's this shit all over my train station. Scary stuff.
There's one of these at Leeds train station, gives me the creeps.
Waiting for someone to get arrested for vandalizing it and "assaulting" it. "Don't look at me like that you judgmental bitch!"
"Hey boss the greater called in"!
------------"That is ok, put that Robot kickstand thingy in the front of the Store. Oh and make sure you upload the "Greeter" program".
Let's be real here folks. *The reason we have robots doing stuff such as this is not because it is 2015 and we have this type of tech and such. And self check outs are in abundance as well is because too many people in this type of Industry call in every day or do not show up for work and if they do less than half show up on time ! It is unbelievable how many call ins are performed per day in America and this type of Industry gets the most, imo. I know this because I worked retail for 12 years of my life. Currently I am not, which is so nice! I do not blame this industry for replacing Humans with Robots.*
Thanks for reading.
the most terrifying part is that the projection isn't aligned with the cutout
I live in Centerton, Arkansas which is not far from Rogers. Yeah...these things make me uneasy.
They have this tech at Glasgow airport in Scotland. It was terrifying.
There's a few of these at Leeds Train Station, UK which tell people to use elevators for heavy luggage
Knowing Walmart... Someone is going to steal it lol
I had to watch it twice...lol It is like "Back to the future"...
That is terrifying, holy shit.
is like total recall
It's like they've never heard of the uncanny valley.
So they took probably 10,000 old man greeter jobs and outsourced it to one Asian chick. Typical walmart.
Midwest Gamer GLHF Just like the u scans
They have these in London's Kings Cross station, you walk past thinking you're safe, only to find out that it's double sided.
The first time I saw one of those was at the airport. They are freaky.
Ugh they had one of these at my train station, right next to the escalators. I used to see it every day on my way to university and it really freaked me out, especially when it would smile and wave at me.
Those billboards that are just stationary freak me out. Remind me to never go to Arkansas.
"What the actual fuck..." My exact reaction.
I saw one of these in a train station in the UK! Scary stuff!
He awoke somewhere he would never come to in his life. Bones and ash littered the dark stone cell. Somewhere far off, a rat scampered out of a dead animal that it had been gourging on. His head throbbing, he could not remember how he had come to be in this hell, much less his own name. Shuddering and wimpering in fear and pain, he wearily raised his own head to get a glimpse around the prison when his throat felt a horrendous choking sensation. He tried to pull his arms to his throat, but the clanking of iron held firm and his arms could not lift. He has been chained to the wall and floor by his arms and throat and hell, probably his legs too, although he could not lift his head to check. He turned his head to the side and saw an old and rusted door in the middle of the wall. How he loathed that door and the doom that would come through it as the doorknob slowly turned. As the door creaked open, the form that he would soon see would haunt the rest of his short life. The face resembled a man, although it was not. Giant bloodshot and beady eyes gleamed at him as a face peeked from behind the door, clearly visible as the beast had no eyelids. A smile wider than its face with long, yellow, needle-thin teeth appeared in a mouth which oozed black bile. The pale skin of the creature provided a stark contrast to the darkness it emerged from, now scampering upon its helpless victim upon what seemed to be four long spindly arms instead of two legs. Reaching into a black cloak with both his vile hands, it produced a small remote control, with one hand, and the most hideous dagger in the other. With a blur of motion, it rushed to its helpless target in an instant, and pushed the dagger all the way up to the man's throat, stopping at the very last moment of breaking skin. With a widening smile, it pushed the button of the remote control as a shocking and unbearable strobe light overhead turned on shattering ghe darkness, and with a wretched voice it uttered the last words its victim would ever hear:
"Blink if you are ready to take it."
'On that day, mankind received a grim reminder. We lived in fear of the holograms and were disgraced to live in these cages we called walls.'
It's always creepy when technology smiles, because you know they have no real emotion.
I visited Canada earlier this year and there was one in Toronto Pearson International Airport. There must have been a problem with the projector because the one I saw was flickering.
Super creepy.
Commander Shepard: Tell me how to get to the Citadel Tower from here.
What the? Walmart stop seriously
"You may live to see man-made horrors beyond your comprehension."
They've got something like this at London Kings Cross Station warning people to be careful on the escalators
Worked at Walmart a few months ago. Honestly, I'm not surprised by this. One less employee to pay, especially since they just raised the pay to $9, and are going to raise it again to $10 next year.
There was one of these at London Train station
We have these in the UK at Asda, which is basically Walmart (but smaller), its also owned by Walmart!
At least I won't have to feel bad about ignoring the vendors.
I'd feel more comfortable if the hologram was an elderly lady, who only greets half of the people walking in and falls asleep for the other half.
I saw one of these things in a train station once, creepy as hell!
they have these in the uk in train stations. my local one is just some old man and it doesnt stop talking.
They have those in airports in England.
there is one of these at an optical prescription place at my local mall and they have it wearing an actual skirt. It's.....weird.
and there is a sign standing next to it saying "Please do not touch"
