    You can paint as a cadet person, the DB air vent head GREEN, and redo the marking and add ballast water

    Sir, can you show me how many pressure in fire hose when testing?

  • @uskusk7144
    @uskusk7144 2 роки тому +1

    Hello sir, I have a serious question for you. I paid attention to that you shut off the nozzle to read the pressure through your gauge. Well, if no hydrants are left open somewhere, you will have a crazy amount of pressure of water within your fire main system when you shut off your nozzle. I was wondering do not you think that such pressure is very dangerous for your fire main system when you shut off your nozzle? Or did you leave any other fire hydrants open at forecastle or something?
    And when I was a cadet, we had no type of shutting of nozzles in the vessel. We also had not a gauge as you to read the pressure within the main. I was really suspicious in the way we carried out our test. If we do not have shutting off type of nozzle or a gauge to read the fire main system pressure, how could we correctly carry out the test?

      Glad you have this question, a good question by the way. Well, One hydrant was kept opened in poop deck for tackling with over-pressurization.

    YOU connected all fire hose in one line . one hydrant open . i think water pressured reduce in last hose near nozzle. one fire hose connect with one hydrant, that is betteer

    • @SailorVikas
      @SailorVikas  3 роки тому +1

      No brother, we close the discharge nozzle and let the pressure rise by seeing the pressure gauge, once the required pressure is attained, we close the hydrant to prevent overpressurisation of hoses, you can feel the same hardness in hose for the first hose and last hose, their is no reduced pressure in the last hose.

    Why engine room fire hose length is less than 15 m?? Please help me

    • @SailorVikas
      @SailorVikas  4 роки тому +1

      It's just because engine room is small area as compared to deck...their is no other such reason....however it's a solas requirement so we have to comply with it

  • @shivamkumargupta5027
    @shivamkumargupta5027 3 роки тому +1

    All fire hoses tested yearly or quarterly??? Or we have to check all hoses in five years what is correct as per solas

    • @SailorVikas
      @SailorVikas  3 роки тому +1

      Circulars say to do pressure testing of few hoses and within 5 years u need to finish all the hoses, but because of wear and tear company makes requirement to make it 3 monthly basis....and company requirement comes under ISM and ISM comes under SOLAS, same like MSC which comes under SOLAS. Ammendments to solas are given by MSC circular so you will find details in that msc circ.

    Sir when u close the fire hydrant that time pump is running? If pump running how u maintain the pressure in fire line, any anchor wash is remain open?

    • @SailorVikas
      @SailorVikas  3 роки тому

      Yes anchor wash and fire line overboard valve is adjusted in such a way to attain max fire line pressure.

    Good job bro go ahead ... please make video about fire extinguishers spare..
    And I have question...
    as per solas we can't put CO2 fire extinguisher in accommodation area ... but I was onboard vessel have CO2 FE in accommodation area (in ballast room) .. how is that ????... is there any exception or what???

    • @SailorVikas
      @SailorVikas  4 роки тому +1

      CO2 can be kept in areas of electrical connection and wirings...thus bridge, ac room, ballast control room or cargo control rooms have co2

      Shelf life of hoses is 3 years but that doesn't mean you have to condem those hoses after 3 years
      If it passes hydrostatic pressure test you can use it in service

      Throttle anchor wash if required pressure is not coming, if even after closing anchor wash , required pressure is not attained than close fire line overboard valve from engine room bottom platform
