Just wanted to let you know I really appreciate what you do here man! I dabbled in the game on and off not really ever going past just playing on the iPhone apps but after the AlphaGo vs. Lee Sedol games and watching a few of your videos along with Jonathan Hop and few others, I wound up with a set of inexpensive stones and board at my door step and am enjoying the game more than I ever have. Your enthusiasm for the game really transcends you videos making the experience that much more enjoyable. Since watching many of your lectures I've found my games improved drastically over a span of about a week or two. Not sure what my actual rank is since the area I live in has essentially no Go community to really test myself, but all in all just wanted to say thanks for the vast wealth of material you provide here!

Hi Nick, love the videos. I tried to learn Go a few years ago, and AlphaGo has inspired me to try again. I'm a chess player, what's interesting, I think, is that I don't think there's a useful comparison that can be made between the two games. Chess is an attritional battle, with, more or less, a single attack that either succeeds or fails. A player invests material in that attack. I've found it difficult to change my thinking with Go - a corner I've played a stone in feels like it should be 'my' corner, and I panic on the opponent's first move! My favourite proverb has become 'lose your first fifty games as fast as possible'. Working on it!

I love the videos. Learning a lot! Is there any chance of giving a list of books you recommend for beginner to advanced players?

Hey Nick, love your videos! Are the webcam feed and the desktop desynchronized in this video? I think the mouse clicks that we hear from your mic don't sync up with the actual clicks in KGS, right?

Nick Iam guessing you are using a program for streaming when recording?
This issue could be related to the program's audio synchronization
      offset settings.
And also, thanks for all the great lessons. :)

Nick, you've done some japanese players before in your videos. Im curious to see more. One of the undermentioned players in top pro ranks is Hane Naoki going by western publicity ;D. His games are worth mentioning, you can throw any strategy against him and he just deals with it like it was part of the plan. I wish you would review some of his games online some day.

lol me and my friend was just talking about if they made alpha go to the public you could use it to improve your game by having it check your moves for you and learn from it on some hikaru shindou status

I don't think anyone's mentioned, but your clicks are out of sync with the webcam. Your video feeds are out of sync. I think you've fixed this problem since (wow, four years ago).

Hey, Nick, do stop clicking so violently when you're not actually hitting some button or sth, please! This is a bit annoying… ;-) Otherwise: Great video as usual 😊
