It's so helpful when you leave your "less than satisfied" experiments in, especially since you explain WHY you're not happy with them. You're such a great teacher!
Kelly, you have become one of my favorite demonstrators and educators on our art. Please keep it coming! You’re inspiring and so easy to like! Rock on girl!
Whoa! That white glitter paper with alcohol inks was stunning!!!!!! I don’t own alcohol inks but have a lot of colored glitter paper but it’s not blended or ombre like you did! Fabulous!!!
WOW! This was a LOT of work & extremely informative! Thank you for showing all the different methods. Then your fantastic coloring. You’ve really carved your expert spot in this industry. l’m an old dog & l appreciate the new tricks l’m learning from you! Bravo! 👏🏻👍🏼🙏🏻💖
What a fun, informative video, Kelly! Your hummingbird turned out drop-dead gorgeous! I ordered mine earlier this week, so I'm really looking forward to playing with color and shimmer. I, for one, really appreciate videos like this. It feels like we're all learning at the same time. I love Perfect Pearls, too, but I moved a few months ago and my set is nowhere to be found. I really don't want to repurchase the little buggers. They're starting to get a wee bit pricey, and I had SO MANY different colors. I have a feeling they're in a random box in the garage, which means I'll likely never see them again. 😜
These are beautiful and you doing all the experiments really helps so much. That way we know what angle we want to approach it to get the results we're after. You are crafting artist genius!!😂 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤
Hi Kelly! I really enjoy your tutorials. I have an idea on the vellum that works for me. I put double sided adhesive behind the vellum, then I paint or spray. The adhesive and release paper help it lay flat. I do have to use a metal plate to get clean cuts, but it’s nice to have no-see adhesive already on there. ❤️
Loved the alcohol ink on glitter paper! For the longest time I thought perfect pearls only came in the color perfect pearl. When I saw the other colors I had to stop myself from ordering them all, lol.
Love the experimentation. Bug bodies freak me out. I think butterflies are beautiful until you look at their body. Thanks for the video and I would love to see them used on cards
Science experiments in the craft room... fantastic😂. It's great to see alternatives, as all the companies come out with similar stuff by different names. Look forward to part 2 and a little storytime.
My oldest daughter was the stinker. My mom said I was lucky to have her first, the 2nd was perfect. It’s still that way and they are 53 and 50. You did a great job with the flowers, just loved the colors.
Yes, these videos are super helpful. I like to know how to use the products that I have sitting and hardly ever use. I have all the colors of the Perfect Pearls and plan to do some experimenting with them myself now. Thanks so much for all you teach us.
Great ideas! Thanks for trying them so we could actually see the results. Looking forward to watching part 2. I learn something from you with every video.
You blew my mind I n coloring that hummingbird! Well all the bugs too, but that bird was beautiful! I have a friend who loves hummingbirds! But I wouldn’t know where to start! I don’t have alcohol markets either. Bought 2 different sets I hated.
Thank you so much for doing these trials on the foiling embossing powder. I bought the BM right away(still haven’t tried it), then saw you could foil with regular embossing powder so this was fabulous! Thank you!
THANK YOU for this video!!! Very informative and extremely helpful. Your hummingbird and I sects came out beautiful. I have Perfect Pearl's and never thought of using them in this way. Can't wait fir your card video to come out! I have the water Lilly and I'm planning in using it for my daughter's birthday card next month.
Your flying critters turned out amazing Kelly! I have the bugs die set and love it. I will be adding the hummingbird on my next order. I’m really looking forward to your next video showing how you used these.
Awesome! Lots of great information here! BTW, many videos ago, you stated you were looking for a navy cardstock. If you have not found one yet, you might try Midnight Navy cardstock from Michaels. Nice and dark. 😊
Have you ever tried adding color with Daniel Smith DuoChrome iridescent water? These colors shift in the light depending on the angle of the light. They’d word perfect in this application. I’ve had great success using the iridescent watercolor for butterflies and such.
Awesome. Looking forward to the next video. I have previously used alcohol ink INSIDE a laminating pouch and now I’m wondering about trying that technique but with nuvo shimmer powders or mica spray. There is a downside: I used eg red and gold ink. The gold was one-sided and the red is a bit duller inside the pouch. But it’s kid-proof. So maybe that’s a possibility for a future project. (Also I don’t know if there are different types of pouches that would be better)
So Honeybeestamps’s has a page on their site that shows you how to layer all those honey cuts??? I have not bought any because I could never figure out how to color them because idk what piece goes where!!!! I even emailed them and suggested they use numbers and letters for layers and different flowers or buds! Altenew just came out with their keyhole number system right after that email I sent to honeybee! So I can find help? I can’t color them if I don’t know what piece is what.
I found a pearlescent vellum once and it was never in stock again in the color I wanted. So how did you feel the BM foil powder worked overall? Good only if double embossed?
It's so helpful when you leave your "less than satisfied" experiments in, especially since you explain WHY you're not happy with them. You're such a great teacher!
Great ideas and I’ll be sure to watch the second video

My hummingbird comes tomorrow. Can’t wait. Love your cards and coloring.

Wow! Love the hummingbird, but the bugs are also amazing! Yes please make a video showing the card building.

So beautiful ❤
In south Texas we have Ruby throated humming birds. Usually green, but I think there is blue in there too! It won’t let me attach a picture!
Wow!!!! 🥰
Fantastic work 😊
This was very neat
Great video…❤❤❤
So love this and how helpful Thank you so much.

Iridescent water color…sorry for the typo. Finetech has flip-flop color sets
Too cute
So cool!!

Do you need to put a fixative over the perfect pearls?
Did you try the BM foil powder with colored foil?
