Great thoughts. Something I always think about because it's not like today's battles. Medieval battles one would be right up close, and personal. Even though the fighting would had been brutal yet there is More honour in dying that way than a push of a button or a drone attack. Medieval prowess is something to behold.
It most definitely is, I have often walked (and slept the night), on Flodden battlefield, one of many battlefields, and thought of the up, close and personal carnage that took place in those mud ridden killing grounds.
@@carmichael3594 I’ve used a bivvy a few times. Not so much these days but back when I was in my younger days I slept out a lot in many castles and battlefields, or other points of interest to me.
A mixed bag of mindsets I would imagine. even although fear is a part of the process of engaging in battle, trusting in and wielding ones skillsets would also be a lifesaver. Many would have been well schooled and drilled, experienced, and be able to channel that fear productively.

@@robertthebruce-geniusofban647 great idea
@@carmichael3594 it gives feelings and emotions one can’t get in books! It gives history a heart beat and a pulse for me.
I imagine they fought amazingly. I also wonder what the aggressors were feeling ? I Imagine both sides were terrified.

I have often wondered exactly that ..!
Individuals are all very different but there would have been certainly an up building between each other.
